The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington a thought provoking four-star read. This is a stand-alone read that will leave you wanting more, there is a little of everything in this read, love, friendship, history, twists and turns. Turns that will keep you reading, the writers sense of style and description are great, you can visualise the point and all of the characters in-side the relationship between Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton has gone on for years, they started out as fresh faced kids best friends when you are reading them you get sucked so far in that you feel like a third wheel at times.
I don’t want to reveal the story as it’s such a good story, al I will say is that you will want to get answers and hold everyone you hold dear to you close and it will make you want to be honest with them.
If you are after an honest and refreshing read, this is the story for you.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I was blown away. The story is a contemporary romance that will leave you speechless. This book gave me all the feels. I was hooked on the very beginning all the way to the end. I devoured this masterpiece in only one sitting.

Emma Ashby is heading back home for the first time in years. She is going to an opening for a family friend. When she gets back home all of her memories come back full force. Emma runs into her first love, Drew Dalton. She has always loved him and has never stopped. When she sees that he has moved on it shatters her heart. They had a very long history together. Emma and Drew grew up together and ended up being each other's first loves. Emma still remembers the day that he broke her heart. She now wants to get out of this town but Drew asks her for some help with a project that is special to both of their hearts. Emma decides to help him in this project but just as friends. While Emma and Drew work together secrets and lies are exposed. They quickly realize that true love never dies. Will Emma finally get her happy ending or will she run away from it?

Drew Dalton has it all a great job, family, and a fiancé that is madly in love with him. He is all excited to see his childhood friend from the past but when he sees her he can't help his memories coming back. Drew realizes that he needs help with his project and Emma is the perfect person for the job. They start working together and he realizes that he still has strong feelings for her. Will Drew follow his heart or will it be too late?

This book is amazing. The story has it all romance, lies, deceit, and forgiveness. You will fall in love with all of the characters including the villain. Emma is so sweet she will make your heart melt. She always follows her heart even when it gets too hard. Drew is gorgeous and also has a heart of gold. He is very close to his family and friends. The way he loves Emma will make you weak in the knees. These characters have beautiful chemistry that will make you have tears in your eyes. The ending to this book is so beautiful I cried happy and sad tears. This book will make you believe that love is for eternity. I loved that this author wrote this book in both characters points of views. This gives you a more personal connection to the characters. I can not wait and see what this talented author writes about next.

A 4.5 star read for The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington. This is a new to me author, once I read the blurb, I knew that I had to read this book.

All I can say is wow!! I enjoyed this book so much! Emma and Drew were childhood best friend that were inseparable. As they grew, so did their feeling towards each other. What started out as best friends turned into that forever love that we are all searching for.
When Emma returns home after being away, she realizes that she is still in love with Drew. He was her first and only true love. Their break up was so horrible that she had to leave. Coming back to find out that he is engaged, she is heartbroken once again. She knows that she is bound to run into him, so she tried to hide the fact that she still loves him.
Drew knew it was only a matter of time until he came face to face once again with Emma. Even tho he is engaged, he knows that he still loves Emma and probably always will. All it takes is for Drew's fiancé to see him and Emma together once to know that they are meant to be together, so she breaks it off and calls off the wedding.
With Drew and Emma getting reacquainted, everyone is happy except for Drew's sister, Julie. She has always hated Emma, but when they find out that her hate runs so deep that she orchestrated their break up, things suddenly take a drastic turn. Will they ever be able to come back from the events that take place?

I absolutely loved this book and I truly hope that you do also. Just be prepared and have a huge box of tissues nearby.

Drew Dalton was the love of Emma Ashby’s life, but their break up was cold and harsh and still a mystery. But returning to her hometown of Leyton, she realises that her love for Drew never died, but with Drew now engaged she tries her hardest to hide her feelings from him and others around them, but what she doesn’t know is that when Drew lays eyes on Emma again he realises he never moved on and never stopped loving her.

While they rekindle their romance, they begin to realise that their breakup many years ago was all planned. By the one person who has always hated Emma for reasons nobody knows, no other than Drew’s sister Julie. Now know who caused the breakup they want to know why and when the truth is revealed, it brings a series of events that are heartbreak, strife and slowly but surely forgiveness, that is when Emma realises true love can never die.

The Point is my first book from Author Lori Thomas Harrington, and after reading this book, it will not be my last. This author has written an incredible book with real situations, real love and soul mates. I can’t wait to see what else this author can bring us and will be looking forward to reading more!

I’m going to start off by saying that I don’t want to give too much of this book away, I think this book is something everyone should experience, they should experience how incredibly beautiful, captivating and gripping this book was. But you should also be prepared, many people have warned me that it’s an emotional read, so I prepared myself and was ready, but even now, as I write this review with tears streaming down my face I cannot put into words how unprepared I was. I say this in a good way but boy oh boy is Lori Thomas Harrington cruel. Cruel to write such a beautiful, romantic heart pounding story, that completely and utterly breaks you, and then brings you back just to break you again. I haven’t been this emotional with a story as I have with this one. Not only do you cry, but you have laughter, happiness, sadness, anger and confusion. You are left reeling when secrets are revealed, you are left angry when the characters that you have come to love only after a couple of pages make wrong choices and become stubborn and fight something that is totally undeniable.

I also loved that there was a slight mystery to it as you were trying to piece everything together as you got the information, trying to work out who could have been behind the heartbreak that caused these two soul mates to lose so much time together.
These two characters has so much to give each other, from the start they were the best of friends, bonding over music, dreams, and special place they both shared, the point. But as they continued to grow together they realised that love is what really connected them together, and love that was so powerful it could withstand the greatest of all things. They were soul mates, and they both knew that without each other they couldn’t breathe, that is until the fateful day in August when their love becomes heartbreak. A harsh and cold break up that left them as adult reeling and losing their hearts in the process. But seeing each other again after 7 years is a big step for both of them to take especially when they realise that their loved for each other never died. From across the room people could still see the connection these two had even after their time apart. They are such a strong, lovable couple, a couple that anyone would dream to have for themselves. I loved that we got flashbacks from their past, we got to see the fun-loving side of each of them from when they were growing up and also see the what really happened on that fateful day, this really helped me connect with the story even more than I already was.

This story was just so real, raw, honest and true and flowed so beautifully. Everything about this book was incredible and I honestly even with the emotions flowing from this book I’m so glad that I got the chance to read this book! This book is full of twists that leave even you along with the characters reeling, it keeps you turning page after page not wanting to miss a single thing and leave you wanting more.

Do not miss the chance to read this incredible book of friendship, love and passion and of course finding the missing piece of your heart!

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is a story about friendship, love, and betrayal. This story is full of twists and turns that will make you laugh, cry and make you believe that love can last forever. This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed her writing style and the southern tone she added to it. I enjoyed the plot and her meaning behind it. The characters are connectable and true to life. They will pull you into their world and make you feel like you are right there with them. Find out what happens with these characters as they discover feelings and truths that they thought were long buried.

Emma Ashby is going home to her hometown when she realizes that she is still in love with the one man who broke her heart. He was the love of her life but the break up was nasty and mysterious. Now, she has come back to find him engaged to someone else. She tries to hide her true feelings for him because he is engaged.

Drew Dalton was her best friend growing up and then boyfriend the older they got. He has tried to move on from their break up that he is confused about. Then he sees her and realizes that he still has feelings for her. Now that they try to rekindle their romance, they find that their break up was just a misunderstanding. But was it really or is there something else that at hand? When they realize that his sister, Julie, was behind their break up, they are determined to figure out why. When the truth is revealed will there be heartache, sadness, and maybe even forgiveness? Will they realize that true love can never die?

Emma and Drew's relationship is one where they grew up as friends and became more. They were the best of friends growing up but as adults they are strangers. What will they do when they realize that neither one has moved on from their feelings? Is their true love forever or will fate have a different plan for them? These characters are strong and lovable. They have a real connection with each other just as strong as their character roles. They have the support and love from their family and friends which is really great to see. All of them make this story flow and keeps it engaging until the end. The only thing that left me a little confused was the flash backs that are part of the plot. To me they were hard to keep up with. But I did enjoy this story and would read more from them and this author. Find out what happens with these two as they rediscover love and their relationship. Will they discover the truth behind their breakup? Will they find their HEA?

This is my first story by Lori Thomas Harrington and I know it won't be the last. For me this story was sweet romance leaving me feeling that there is true love for everyone out there somewhere. Lori was born and raised in Mississippi. Lori spends her time with her husband, three children and two grandchildren when she is not writing. She loves to create and her passion lies in music, writing and theater. You will enjoy how fast paced this book is. You will have a hard time putting it down. It is just full of twists and turns that you will not want to miss. They will keep you turning pages and leave you wanting more. I highly suggest this story as you will not want to miss this sweet romance that will leave you wanting more.

“We were just two little kids with great big dreams. Although we grew up and moved away for a while, the magic we discovered here remained — even when we didn’t. The magic I keep referring to is that of a child’s imagination, or that of a first love — of sunsets and sunrises. All linger here through the echoes of time and space. It’s the magic called love.”

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is an exceptionally good story. It broke me, left me sobbing and not sure if I could ever be fixed; and then it pieced me back together, leaving one tiny crack as a permanent reminder of this incredible story. I am still thinking about it, even though I closed the book on the final page quite some time ago. It is one of those stories that you don’t expect to have such a connection to, or that would have such a powerful effect on your emotions. Then, to discover that this fantastic story also seems to be Ms. Thomas Harrington’s debut novel, just blows my mind. The story has the feel and the quality of having come from an author with numerous books to their name- so I am more than impressed by this debut. A word of caution though before you begin reading, to make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand, because you WILL need them.
Emma Ashby has loved Drew Dalton since she was a little girl. They grew up the best of friends, sharing all their hopes and dreams and making plans for a future they would embrace together. As they grew so did their feelings, but unfortunate circumstances parted them and left them both reeling. Staying in town with so many painful reminders was too much, so Emma left town and found a job in advertising. Now, seven years later, she has returned to her home town for a community event that she doesn’t want to miss. Emma is anxious about her return, as she knows that she’s bound to encounter Drew at some point and knows that her heart still aches for him.
Drew is a sound engineer who works at the local radio station. He is now engaged to be married, but when he unexpectedly runs into Emma again after all these years he feels like he is being pulled into her gravity all over again. He knows that he will never stop loving her, but they have a lot of unfinished business, and issues that were never dealt with when they parted. If either of them have any chance of moving forward with their lives, they are going to have to work through the baggage.
The only certainty that either of them has is that they still have feelings for the other, and as they spend time together they discover that their breakup was really just a huge misunderstanding and was instigated by a third party. The truth is the catalyst for a series of events that will change the future, irrevocably. But, their love is bigger than the both of them- and through all the heartache, this love will bring understanding, forgiveness and a wonderful development.
I don’t want to give anything away, except to say that this is a truly remarkable story by an author with a real gift for writing- and someone whose work I will be sure to follow, from now on.

Thank You Ms. Thomas Harrington!

The Point
By: Lori Thomas Harrington
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is a contemporary romance book. This beautiful story is about Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton. They grew up together and shared a connection that ran deep. Then one day their love story was over with a cold and harsh breakup. It has been several years since then and now they find themselves both in Leyton, TN. While they both say they have moved on and are different people now, that deep connection refuses to die. This starts them down a journey that will have them discovering facts about their breakup and that the love they have is just not something they can let go of.

This is a book that touched my heart and had me believing in soul mates. That you have that one person who your connection to is so complete that without each other you are only half a person. That is the kind of love that Emma and Drew shared. They grew up as children together and were inseparable. They shared their hopes and dreams with each other and could never see a day when they would be apart until it happened. Their breakup devastated them both. Now Emma finds Drew newly engaged and seemingly moving on with his life. Or is he? This story is told with some flashbacks to when Emma and Drew were younger and also through memories they have of an old mansion called The Point that they always wanted to restore. This story had my emotions all over the place. I felt frustrated that both Emma and Drew felt the same love for each other but it seemed as if they would never really communicate to each other about what had happened so long ago. There is happiness when they start to rekindle their romance and anger when the truth regarding the end of their relationship was revealed. This then leads to questions regarding why Drew’s sister Julie hates Emma so much and why she broke this couple apart. Can there ever be forgiveness for what Julie did?

This story also is about the love of family and friends. Emma and Drew have amazing friends that know they still love each other and they do everything in their power to make this couple see the same thing. Their families have been close for a long time and it seems that they are not beyond arranging situations. This is the first book I have read by the author. I would highly recommend reading it to experience a romance that will have you both laughing and crying. The characters that this author has created are amazing and well developed. I found myself wanting to know more about their lives as well. Don’t miss out on reading Emma and Drew’s love story!

The Point is a contemporary romance novel. It is a standalone read and tells the story of Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton.
Emma Ashby is a successful writer: she works for an advertising agency a long way away from home. She grew up as an only child and her father died when she was eight years old. Drew Dalton was her very best friend, they did everything together. His parents, his sister (Julie) and her Mum were very close friends. As teenagers Drew and Emma realised they had become more than friends; they were soulmates, destined they felt, to be together for ever. Something happened however, that caused them to split and go their separate ways. Emma moved away from Leyton, TN and began her work whilst Drew stayed in Leyton. What happened between them caused each of them to die a little as their break-up was cold, harsh and mysterious. Neither could understand what happened. Seven years later Emma returns to Leyton to help her Mum out with a project. She finds out Drew is engaged and decides to hide her feelings from him, something she finds almost impossible to do. All Drew knows is that he has never stopped loving her, but he too is determined to hide his true feelings. To make matters worse his fiancée is warm, loving and has no idea of his and Emma’s past relationship. The truth behind their break-up eventually becomes known and what follows is a series of heart breaking events, until Emma realises that true love can never ever die.
This is a heart-breaking, beautifully written love story that will have you feeling envious of the deep spiritual love shared by Emma and Drew and shedding copious tears as events take a tragic turn for the worse. All the characters in the story are written so real and honestly, you can relate to them easily and match them to characters you would find in your own family. It is fairly easy to guess who it was that spilt Drew and Emma up by telling lies. It wasn’t so easy to guess why: this was the first twist in their story and quite a surprising one too. There were two main twists at the end of the story with the last one being the most surprising and shocking of all. This story will haunt you after you have read it because the characters and their love were so real and because it proved that true love will never, ever die. It should also warn readers to not hide their true feelings from those they truly love but always to look for answers.
Lori Thomas Harrington is an amazing author and I will definitely look out for more of her books.

The Point- Lori Thomas Harrington

5 out of 5 stars

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is a beautiful love story that had me hooked from the start. I was drawn to Emma and Drew and the timeless love that they shared. Their love was inspirational as it had the strength to overcome all obstacles and was timeless. This story is told in both present and past tense moments, giving us a better insight into their relationship and where it first started. The amount of detail and backstory in this book is simply incredible, there are no questions left unanswered!

“You know, when your heart is shattered into so many different pieces, it’s really hard to know which piece to follow.”

Emma has been completely in love with Drew since she was just a little girl, he has always been her everything. And as years went on he still remained her very best friend. Until her return from a trip where she learns that he’s changed his mind about her. Her life was turned upside down after that moment but eventually she picked up the pieces of her broken heart and moved on. Well moved on as best as she could. All of their memories together come flooding back to her as she returns to their hometown. She’s forced to face him and his fiancé and act as if her heart isn’t breaking once more, and to top it all off he makes her a proposition she can’t refuse. She never imagined she would be in this position again, will she be able to find the strength to take on an emotional project or will she take her broken heart and run?

There are so many beautiful quotes in this book, each chapter starts with it’s own quote on life and love, many of them had me feeling emotional as they was so much truth behind each one. I was surprised by how much of an emotional read this was for me; I was overcome with so much joy and love but also anger and hatred. While everyone was able to forgive Julie for her heartless ways, I could not. What she did was completely unforgivable. However, this book would not have been the same without her. I absolutely loved Emma and Drew and their truly unforgettable love. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for his or her next romance read.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is the story of Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton. Emma and Drew have a long history together, as children they were best buddies, as teenagers they were lovers, as adults they are strangers.
Emma is back in her hometown of Leyton, Tennessee for the dedication of a family friends new banquet space. She hasn’t been home in a long time and she can’t wait to leave and head back to Alabama to her job which is the only thing in her life with meaning. She doesn’t want to be in Leyton any longer than it takes to spend a little time with her mother, go to the dedication and maybe see a friend or two from high school, but mainly she just wants to not run into Drew Dalton. Drew, who seven years ago, ripped her heart out
Drew Dalton has finally moved on with his life after Emma left Leyton seven years ago after crushing his heart, he’s got a great fiancé, a good business and plans for a bright future. What more could he need? Things are good until Drew runs into his past, the memories come unburied and all he can see is Emma. All Drew wants to do is move forward and to do that he and Emma need to bury the past. In an effort to do this Drew invites Emma to work with him and his fiancé in making their old hangout, The Point, into a destination for all the townspeople. Emma agrees to help Drew with his plan then to go back to Alabama and the life she has built there. While the couple works on their project, secrets are exposed, lives are changed and they are taught that love is infinite.
This is a really good story, it speaks of love that can span time and space no matter the road blocks or choices made. It also brings to life the fact that although you don’t think you should, you can always go home. This book has all the feels so if you are looking for a poignant romance with a lot of heart the Point is the story for you.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is an entertaining journey through a small town in the South. It is the story of Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton and follows them as they discover the truth behind their breakup from years ago.

Emma has come back to her home town of Leyton, TN to attend the dedication of a friends now banquet area. The one thing she doesn’t want to happen while she’s there is to run into Drew. Drew was her world growing up. They went from being best friends as children to being something much more as they grew up. Unfortunately, that all came crashing down around her one night seven years ago when they had a terrible break up. Now, living in Alabama, she finally feels like she’s moving on with her life. At least she did until she actually does run into the newly engaged Drew. Suddenly all the old feelings she had for him come rushing back and she can’t deny that she’s never really stopped loving him.

Drew never thought he’d see Emma again after she left him with a broken heart. Now with an amazing new fiancée by his side he has plans to turn his and Emma’s old hangout, The Point, into something that all the townspeople can enjoy. His plans change when Emma comes back into town. Not wanting to progress with his plans without her he invites her to join his team, along with his fiancée.

Over the course of the book you come to realize that Emma isn’t the only one still carrying a torch. You also learn that their breakup was set up by Drew’s own sister. Why does she hate Emma so much? Will true love really conquer all?

I loved this book. The characterizations were so very human and real that you could honestly feel the emotions running through the two main characters. At times I laughed, others I almost cried, and still others made me want to reach into the book and shake them. To tell them to open their eyes and see what was right in front of them. Excellent work, five stars all the way.

The Point
By Lori Thomas Harrington
5/5 Stars

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is a very emotional, gripping, heartwarming, love story, full of twist and turns. Just when you think you have the story figured out, it takes you to a completely unexpected direction.
I haven't ever read anything by Lori before. But it won't be my last, that is for sure!! They way she writes, like a true southerner. The way the southerners value and take pride in their traditions and way of wife… it's throughout the entire book. You can even hear the characters speak in your head, with their southern drawls. Now that is an excellent author, when you can see and hear the characters in your head.
This book, wow. It's the epitome of true love!! It sucked me in immediately and held my interest until the very end !! I love a great love story, and this is one for the ages!!
Emma Ashby returns home to, Leyton Tennessee for a quick trip. Only to discover she is still madly in love with her ex-boyfriend , Drew Dalton. She still has a lot of unanswered questions regarding their breakup. It was sudden, harsh and quite mysterious. But she learns that Drew is engaged to someone else.
But upon seeing one another, unbeknownst to the other person… they are still deeply in love with each other. Actually, they have never stopped loving one another… even after all these years, seven to be exact !! Drew talks Emma into helping him with a project.
Slowly, they rekindle their romance. And realize their breakup was a huge misunderstanding. Why did Julie,Drew’s sister do it? Why did she lie to both of them? When the truth is finally revealed , will they be able to forgive Julie?
You seriously, have to read this book!! It's going to take you on an emotional roller coaster ride of your life!! Amazing job, Lori! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!!!

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington

5 Stars

I loved this book so much, it just flowed perfectly and before I even knew it I was done. I fell in love with Emma and Drew and their emotions felt so real. Although my first book by this author she has definitely made it to my favorites list with just this one book. I can't wait to read more!!

Emma Ashby left Leyton, Tn seven years ago after her heart was shattered with the cold, harsh, and mysterious breakup with the love of her life, Drew Dalton. She attended college and worked herself up to being the fresh new talent at an advertising agency. She's back in town for the dedication of Hastings Hall, a new structure on the land that had been in Drews moms family for generations. The new structure was not far from the old mansion on the property, the mansion that her and Drew used to dream of redoing and they both loved the place.

Drew Dalton is now engaged to be married to a friend of his sisters. The break up seven years ago with Emma about broke him. They started out as best friends and fell in love, they had dreams for their future and one day in August, seven years ago it all just fell apart.

With her back in town the two were going to see each other for the first time since the breakup, and they both realized they never really got over each other. Their connection and bond was way too strong. The problem is his sister Julie despises Emma and no one seems to know why.

Emma and Drew figure out that their break up was at the hands of his sister, and when she finds out that they have found their way back to each other she is livid. As the whole truth comes out and they find out why she did what she did it creates havoc and tragedy strikes.

This book is about having and losing the love of your life, second chances, heartache, and forgiveness and learning that true love can never die.

The Point Written By Lori Thomas Harrington
4 stars

When I first read the blurb for this book I knew it was a must read. I felt a connection to it instantly as I have lived my own second chance romance. I did not have quite the mystery, twist and turns as Drew and Em had, but there was a bit of meddling involved. I understood the heartache of trying to continue with a new relationship while your heart and soul knew another owned it and that yearning to want to feel completely whole and never thinking it would be possible again.

This book is filled with hope, yearning, love, deceit, humor, friendship, loss, jealousy, forgiveness and healing. Be ready to grab some tissues as the details unfold and the pieces start to fit together.

“True love leaves a memory that no one can steal, And a heartache that no one can heal.”

Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton were destined to be together from a young age. You couldn't think of one without the other, they truly were one soul. Everyone around them could see through the walls they put up, yet they had to see for themselves what was in front of their eyes and still in their hearts. Unfortunately a lack of communication and a bit of manipulation put them on a path of heartache for many years.

A project Drew was working on would put his Em back in his daily life for a short time. Would they be able to work together without it breaking their hearts anymore? Could they live through the pain of losing one another a second time? Not only had they lost the love of their lives, they lost their best friend status seven years ago when their love story ended. How do you move on from this….

“You are my heart, my soul. You are the love of my life, and as long as I have a beating heart and breath in me, that’s how long I will love you. We are timeless.”

The Point
By Lori Thomas Harrington
4 stars!
As soon as I read the blurb for this book I couldn’t wait to start it – I had also been warned that it was quite an emotional story! I did really enjoy this book and read it in one sitting. The story just seemed to flow seamlessly which made it effortless to read, the characters were likeable and I couldn’t help but become wrapped up in their story. There were certainly a few unexpected twists in the story along with a lot of emotional moments. There were definitely a few tears shed by me!!
I really did feel drawn to these characters; Emma and Drew were just such lovely characters. They have been in love with each other for such a long time that you could really feel their connection to each other, even simply through the way they acted around each other. They were the epitome of soul mates. Even after years apart they knew that they were it for each other. They were both backed up by some really nice secondary characters and one not so nice one – that being Drew’s sister Julie!
The ending to the story took me totally by surprise! I still can’t decide whether I liked it or not (but not in a bad way) as it was just very different to what I imagined was going to happen!
The story does include flashbacks to when Emma and Drew were younger which at times were confusing but they did add that additional background story to them and helped you understand just how deep the connection was between the two.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and this book was a nice introduction to her. I really liked the descriptive language that she used especially when describing ‘The Point’ – I could imagine just how beautiful it looked! I am looking forward to reading more form this author in the future.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is a story about friendship and love, a contemporary romance. The Point is a love story between Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton. Emma and Drew grew up as best friends and had this chemistry that we can only hope to have.

Emma Ashby is going back home after being gone for quite a while. She comes home to find the one time best friend Drew engaged to another woman. It truly breaks her heart but she tries to keep it to herself. Drew Dalton, believed though hard that Emma broke up with him and was moving on, no matter how hard. When he saw Emma he knew those feelings surfaced again and could not let them go. But he is engaged and what can he do. He knows he still loves Emma, no matter how she feels he will always love her.

Emma just wants to move on but privately truly still loves Drew and misses him tremendously. She knows she will never get over Drew and then agrees to work with him on the mansion though will be difficult. Can Drew and Emma overcome their breakup? Can true love win?

The Point had me laughing and shedding tears, it really touched my heart. We all want that kind of true love that Emma and Drew shared. Emma and Drew were soul mates. Ms. Harrington describes the characters with such honesty and makes them easy for the reader to relate to and sympathize with. I love the fact that Ms. Harrington started each chapter with such a poignant quote. I could not put The Point down, it was such a true romance. The Point is about having second chances and making the most of the chances you get. Ms. Harrington takes you on an emotional roller coaster, but it is well worth the ride. The Point flows so easily and nice to Read from the third person point of view. I cannot to read more from Lori Thomas Harrington.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington
Five Stars

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is the first book I have read by this author. I was so moved that i just can't wait to see what Ms. Thomas Harrington writes next. This book had me hooked from the very first page to the last. I couldn't put the book down, I read it in one sitting. The character descriptions and plot twists are amazing. The author's writing style make you feel as if you're part of the story with the flashbacks and memories throughout. This is book of first love, second chances and sole mates.

Emma Ashby has returned to her hometown of Leyton, Tennessee after a seven year absence. She was heartbroken when she left and she tries to avoid the man who broke her heart while she is home visiting family and friends.

Drew Dalton has moved on with his life, he is engaged and has a great job and is restoring the old mansion, The Point. When Emma shows back up in town, Drew starts realizing that he still has feeling for her. Drew and Emma grew up together, they were best friends turned lovers and then not speaking to each other.

As Drew and Emma start restoring The Point, as was their childhood dream, they find they still have feeling for one another. The discover some treachery in their past, and lack of communication was what broke them up in the first place. Now as the resolve the mystery will they be able to find true love again? The emotions brought out in this book ranged from happy to sad to rooting for true love. I definitely hadn't have a box of tissue on hand for this one. There really are no word as to how this book made me feel. A must read for anyone who likes romance. I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington
5 stars

The Point by author Lori Thomas Harrington was such a great read. Told in third person POV, you get to see all sides of the story without missing anything. In was hooked from the beginning, because who doesn't love a second chance romance. Especially one with as deep of a connection as Drew and Emma!
Seven years ago Emma and Drew split up, and no ones ever known the truth behind how or why it happened. When Emma comes home to help with a dedication ceremony, she knows she'll have a run in or two with Drew. What she doesn't know is that he's engaged to be married! As the try to be friends for her time in town, they fall back into old habits of knowing everything about each other and being able to read each others thoughts. When Drew's fiancée takes notice and puts the pieces to the unspoken puzzle together, she calls off the wedding so she can find her own man who looks at her like Drew does Emma.
Emma returns to town to help Drew renovate their childhood playing grounds on his family's property. As stress builds, the truth of the past rears its head and they find that someone close to Drew had a hand in their separation, but why? As everyone starts learning truths of the past, tragedy strikes two people, when it should be the happiest time of life. Can they all survive the outcome? Does true love live in us forever?
This book was so good. The characters were so well developed I felt I knew them. I love second chance romance stories and this one took the cake for me. And it packed quite the punch, in a few places! Great read and hope to read more from this author!

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is a contemporary romance and one heartfelt and beautiful story that had me hooked from the beginning. It will have you laughing and crying throughout and the ending, WOW, I sobbed my heart out. Tissues are a must. The story is well written and flows easily.

Emma Ashby has just come home after being away for years and trying to put the past behind her. She has a great job which she loves but can she leave it behind to have what she finds when she returns home. Could it be enough, to see childhood wishes and dreams brought to life? She knows she has to face her past but is she really ready for it? Can she face the one person who destroyed her happiness all those years ago? Is she really that strong?

Drew Dalton knows she is coming to town but is he prepared to see her? He has moved on with his life, hasn’t he? He loves someone else, doesn’t he? The emotions he feels seeing the one person who destroyed his life are running high. They were the best of friends, lovers, but because of lies and betrayal they were ripped away from each other. But now he needs her help more than ever but will she help or run?

Someone who was supposed to love them. Someone who was supposed to have their backs. Someone who ripped them apart not once but twice. The love these two share is a love of a lifetime, a true soul bonding. they are soul mates. After years apart they come together as one. Can hearts be mended or is it too late? Will the truth be revealed in time to save? Can forgiveness be reached after such tragedy?

Lori Thomas Harrington is a talented writer. It is one emotional ride and well worth the time to read.

****4 stars****
The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington

Lori Thomas Harrington’s book, The Point, is a 4-star love story. The book follows Emma as she returns back to her hometown of Leyton TN and comes face-to-face with her first and only “true love” Drew. Emma has a successful career and has created her own life away from her family and Drew has moved on and just recently got engaged to someone he met through his sister. When Drew and Emma finally see each other, they both know that their love never ended, despite the messed up way their relationship ended and both of them fighting their feelings for one another. When they find out that Drew’s sister Julie, who has always hated Emma, was at the root of their breakup and the reason why it happened, things got complicated.

This story has friendship, romance, love, and reminiscing, as well as heartbreak, drama, misunderstandings, and loss. The sweet love the author described with the flashbacks to their past had me rooting for Drew and Emma to end up back together. The way The Point, the cabin, the mansion and every other setting in the story were so well described made me wish I could visit them all in real life. There were some occasions in the book where I thought the language and expressions used may have been a bit overboard and trying too hard to be the ultimate lovey dovey romantic story, but at other times I felt it was sweet and “aww” worthy. In the end, I'm a sucker for a story about rekindling lost love and how true love never dies so I definitely enjoyed the story and even shed some tears. I would recommend this book for anyone needing a little romance and having heart strings tugged at.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington – 5 stars

As we read in the blurb “When Emma Ashby returns to her hometown of Leyton, TN, she realizes that she is still in love with Drew Dalton. He was the love of her life, and their breakup was cold, harsh, and mysterious.” I will NOT be telling you any other details ABOUT the story because I think it should 100% be a blind read.

I will say that this is the first story I’ve read by Lori Thomas Harrington and it is a story that has left me with a book hangover and I’m sure it will continue to penetrate my thoughts for a few days to come. The way Lori Thomas Harrington wrote this story had my interest captured from the introduction to the epilogue. The chapter headings are all quotes, most of which I would like to transcribe onto flashcards and post around my office. I appreciated the character development of each individual in the story. Every person mentioned played an integral role in the story. The story is told in past and present and is very easy to follow along. I read this book in one sitting because I absolutely, 100% could NOT put it down.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

“If you hold on to yesterday, you will miss your tomorrow.”

“We are shaped and fashioned by what we truly love”

“…this place represents the pure magic of just how powerful love is. In family, friendships, forgiveness, healing – love is the root of it all, and that is exactly what all dreams are made of – love.”

That last quote is how I feel about this story – LOVE is the root of it all and the love is pure magic.

I highly recommend this book. If I could give it 10 stars I absolutely would.

All I really want to say is well played Lori Harrington. Well Played.

The Point is a sweet love story about second chances and soul mates and deep, deep love.

“I want to be loved in details the way you obviously love her. I want to be someone’s Emma.”

Emma and Drew are childhood best friends turned high school lovers, turned barley adult friends. Life sometimes takes us into different directions. Relationships are hard enough but throw in some evil person’s plans and add a little misunderstanding then sprinkle with some self-doubt and we have a recipe for a book called The Point!

I loved all of the characters in this story. Well almost all of them. Emma and Drew are obviously in denial as much as in love. Darby is almost too good to be true. All women should be as great as her. I would love to read more about her. Julie is almost too evil to believe. By creating the plot twist between Emma, Drew and Julie, Julie’s situation is explained to us. Harrington allows us just enough information to let our anger and hatred slide. Maybe. Sorry no I still can’t love her. I kept trying to guess what the situation would be that caused Julie’s feelings but nope didn’t see this coming.

Harrington has a good writing style and kept me turning the pages. The sappy love feeling was apparent at the beginning of the story, a little heart ache thrown in and of course a really good ugly cry, because we know that all great authors live off the tears of their readers! I recommend this story and am looking forward to reading more from Harrington!

4 Stars!

"We are shaped and fashioned by what we truly love." This was definitely the theme of this story!

This is such a beautiful story about love and never giving up on it.

Emma has returned to her hometown for an event. This is also the place where her first love is. She realizes she has to face her past and how their end came to be.

Drew is stunned when he sees Emma back in town. It doesn't help that he is engaged to another woman, Darby.

They are both heartbroken because they misunderstood what happened 7 years prior. Both think the other broke up with them. It was a really big misunderstanding. Julie was at the center of it all. It seemed to drag on though. This mysterious reason why they broke up and then once you do find out, it wasn't what it was hyped up to be.

Julie, Drew's sister, does not like Emma and you find out why later on. I just was let down by her reasoning for everything. It just wasn't that interesting.

Drew and Emma resolved their past and spent so much wonderful time together before Julie spoiled it.

I was really shocked with the ending. Most of the book was a generic love story of misunderstandings and resolutions and loving moments. I was completely surprised the ending happened that way. It definitely made the book much more meaningful.

It was a story about love and never losing that love because it is always  a part of you and inside of you. Emma and Drew never stopped loving each other even though they were apart for so long. It was sweet. They have a love that will last forever and it really was timeless.

Drew Dalton and Emma Ashby have been friends since childhood, spending many happy hours in the grounds of Drew’s family home making up stories, plays and having the idyllic childhood we all crave. As they grew into teens their strong friendship developed into love but many thought they were too young and needed to explore life first – especially Drew’s sister Julie. Julie was a constant thorn in Emma’s side. We meet our main characters 7 years after Emma left for a summer abroad. They have not seen each other in that time and their break up is a bit of a mystery to the reader. Drew is now engaged so Emma has to hide her true feelings, but does he still feel that same pull?
The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington was an emotional read and a really enjoyable story. This book took me on a rollercoaster as we went back and forth between the main characters, willing them to get back together and slowly discovering why they had been apart all this time. I loved the idea of people having a soul mate who is the one person they fit with & will for the rest of their lives, no matter what.
The southern small town setting was excellent and we could almost feel how stifled career girl Emma felt as soon as she stepped back into the town, then how quickly she adapted to the old small-town ways but adding her own twist to proceedings. The characters were well written and it was easy to empathise with them.
Have the tissues handy, this is a romantic weepie of epic proportions! Loved it! 5 stars.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington was a true five stars for me. I loved this story and the love between Drew and Emma. I’m having had a challenging time putting my thoughts and feelings on this book into words. There is so much I want to go on about and but I can’t because of spoilers. There were so many different emotions for me while reading their story ranging from annoyance, happiness, laughter, tears, and anger. I finished this book yesterday and if I think too hard or long about it I start to tear up and then get angry all over again. There aren’t many books that stick with me after I have finished reading, but I don’t think I will be getting over this book for a while.

Drew and Emma were childhood friends, they were always together as kids but then their relationship changed when they were teenagers. They realized they were in love with one another and still inseparable. After spending the summer apart, they break up before college and Emma was destroyed by their break up.

Seven years later Emma comes home for the dedication of Hastings Hall where Drew and Emma played as kids and they dreamed of the future. Emma hasn’t seen Drew since the breakup but has not stopped loving him. She knows she will see him, but has no idea what to expect.

There is a lot of forgiveness for everyone involved but they are able to move forward. I’m still working on forgiving the author but will in time. I highly recommend this book but be prepared to cry.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4 Stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is about true love, heartache, forgiveness, second chances and southern spirit.

Who says you can't come home again.

The Point is set in Leyton, Tennessee. Emma Ashby and Drew Dalton were best friends, high school sweethearts but their breakup shattered both of them. Emma moved away to Alabama and has a great career now, but she still loves Drew. The problem is Drew has moved on and engaged to someone who isn't Emma.

Emma returns home to witness a dedication to Hastings Hall. She doesn't intend on seeing Drew, the guy who broke her heart. But when she does, she realizes she is still in love with him.

Drew is engaged to his sister's friend. He and his fiancé are going forward with The Point. The Point is a mansion they are turning into a destination. The problem is that was Drew and Emma's dream. So he enlists Emma's help to restore it.

They realize Drew's sister Julie is behind their devastating breakup. So many lies but can they move past it and rediscover the love they have for each other. Or will Julie put an end to their reunion, again?

This book is a contemporary romance. Lori Thomas Harrington delivers on this heartfelt story. I was glued to the characters from the beginning. I laughed and I cried all the way until the end. The story flowed so well together that I felt like I was watching this small southern town come to life.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harringon is heartwarming, frustrating and such a sweet book. The story is beautifully written and the characters are easy to love, even the characters I wanted to punch in the face, I fell in love with them in the end. There are also a lot of great quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

The sweet part of this book was how the main characters, Emma and Drew were childhood sweet hearts and so in love. Even as time passed and they grew distant, but they still had a strong undeniable love for each other that we get to see rekindled .

The frustrating part of the book is how they wait so long to talk to each other. After some misunderstandings in their past, they wait so long to talk to each other and keep it pent up inside instead, wasting precious time that they could have been together.

The secondary characters were also very loveable and very well written. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing a book written about a couple of them. Mainly Jane and Alec who are Emma’s best friend and previous boyfriend.

There are so many things I want to say in this review, but it would be too much information and give too much away, I will say there are some bombshells that will blow your mind and leave you speechless. You will have to just trust me on this when I say, this book is so worth it. It is so incredibly sweet and gave me so many feelings. I would definitely give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The Point by Lori Thomas Harrington is SO good! This is my first book by this author and I can say that it will not be my last. This is all about life, friendship, love and so much more. The emotions you feel will pull you in and not want to let you go. I cried and laughed with the characters, and felt as though they were my friends, not just some characters in a story. It was an amazing 5 star read!

Emma Ashby is finally going home when she realizes that she is still in love with the man who broke her heart, she thought they we're going to have a happy life, she thought they were so much in love, until he broke her heart. Once she gets back to her hometown she finds out that he's engaged to someone else. Talk about a slap in the face. But she stands strong, she won't let anyone know how she feels.

Drew Dalton was her best friend while they were kids, and then they became more, the older they got. He never understood why they broke up, and now that she's back in town, he realizes that he's never moved on. But what is he going to do? He's engaged to someone else? Can they try and reconnect? Can they fix what was never suppose to be broken? What happens when they find out that the reason behind their break up was caused by someone close to them?

This book was great! Like I said before, this was my first time reading something from this author and I can guarantee it will not be my last. I would recommend this book to everyone! Such a great read!
