The mother of five children, Kylie Brant claims she began writing to save her sanity. Plotting stories became her method of escape from the reality of constant ball games, chauffeuring kids, and refereeing "minor" disagreements between her perfect offspring.

In 1992 she was elated to get a call from Silhouette offering to buy her second novel. Home with laryngitis at the time, she still managed to croak out agreement, and her career was born. A few months later she went on to sell Rancher's Choice, the first manuscript she’d written.

Kylie is married to her high school sweetheart, and they make their home in Iowa. She insists that all her heroes are based on her husband of 23 years because he possesses that most heroic of make qualities — ironing skills. Those abilities come in handy, as she juggles a full time teaching job with writing and a family.

Doing things the easy way has never held much appeal for this multi award-winning author. She graduated with high honors from the University of Northern Iowa. A graduation photo shows her in cap and gown holding her two sons, one aged 16 months and the other three weeks. She went on to obtain a teaching job working with learning-disabled children while completing her master’s degree at night and during summers.

"There was a time in my life when I could imagine myself as a life-long student," she recalls. "I actually toyed with the idea of pursuing a doctorate. But instead, my life took a spin and I ended up writing romances. I’ve never regretted it!" Her family has since been completed by the birth of another son and a set of twins, a boy and a girl.

Kylie’s books are regularly featured on bestseller lists such as Waldenbooks and B. Dalton Bookseller. With over a million copies of books in print, her novels have been distributed in 20 countries and released in seven languages.

Family and friends are the main focus of Kylie’s life. When she isn’t writing or teaching, she enjoys reading and flower gardening. She loves traveling, preferring beach, ocean, and room service.

Despite moments when I wanted to kick the hero for his disbelief and snap judgments, I ended up enjoying the book.

It was pretty sexy and I really liked the heroine, she was pretty nice and hadn't had the best childhood since her abilities brought her bad coverage so it was a big step for her to go to the police and volunteer information about the in-news case, kidnapping of children.

The hero was a tough one to like at first, he looked at the heroine with suspicion investigating her and equating her with his ex-wife when she was nothing like her. He was more of the silent type, not trusting women much but he can't keep his hands off the heroine or being in her presence.

I liked seeing him all jealous, concerned for her safety and he also didn't consider himself good enough for her but well I did like that the heroine told him in straight terms that he was.

I ended up enjoying the book a lot & want to read Cruz's book & wish like this one it is digitized soon.

When children begin disappearing Detective Conner McLain chases every lead in his efforts to find them. Michele Easton has visions of the missing children so when she goes to Detective McLain he doesn't believe her. Michele is like an ice princess she protects herself like this hiding and withdrawing from people. Her past causes her to not let people get close to her and she has every reason to be wary of exposing her special ability to his ridicule and suspicion. Connor is hard like most cops because of the things that he has seen. These two have some hot chemistry between them. The sex scenes between them were hot. When Michele begins getting threats he will do anything to protect her. This book had a lot of action in it. This was a pretty good read and my first time reading this author. I also liked the narrator of this book. I also looking forward to reading more from this author.

No parecen reales. Lo de los niños secuestrados es que es de órdago. A lo largo de la trama, no se aprecia urgencia alguna por encontrarlos. Muy fuerte todo.

Estos son algunos. Me dejo otros sin comentar porque ya me estaría ensañando.

Hmmm..

This was just an OK story but it left you wondering why the missing kids weren’t mentioned more than 4 or 5 times until another kid went missing at 61%, when Michele had another dream about it. Really, Connor didn’t seem concerned about them. He never, ever went out to check a lead, never talked to his partner Cruz about it, and certainly never believed it when Michele told him about her dreams. I think this should have been a book about something other than missing kids. It just seemed there wasn’t enough concern about them to make Connor or Cruz overly likable. Connor and Michele had pages and pages of sex 2 or 3 times, and Cruz fixed her window because someone had been in her house, but their attention to the kids was nearly zero.

Finally, Connor and Michele were together when she had a dream and she told him of a girl missing and had him call the precinct and they told him no one had reported anyone missing, until later that morning when they were having coffee and Connor got the call. She had to beat him over that head with her gift before he would believe her. And when Cruz told Connor they needed to get Michele into the office to see if she remembered anything else Connor went off on him. It was like he’d rather protect Michele from any discomfort or bad memories than to save those 6 missing kids? That didn’t make a bit of sense. At 61% I wasn’t sure I wanted to finish this book it was getting so ridiculous.

I’ve read 4 of Ms. Brant’s books in the last 5 days, not including this one, and this is definitely my least favorite. It was like the missing kids took second place to everything else that went on in the book. I think this story needs to be rewritten, make it a murder mystery or stalker or something other than that of 6 missing kids that I felt were virtually forgotten about most of the time.

As I mentioned earlier that was sex in this book, 2 or 3 explicit scenes. And there was a little bit of swearing, nothing too serious.

As to the narration: Again Ms. Marlo did a very good job. A little bit of emotions and the men sounded like men. Amazingly, every man had his own voice. That’s saying a lot for a female narrator. Usually every man has the same voice, just like every woman has the same voice when a man narrates. So, kudos to Ms. Marlo.

I liked the heroine - she was tough and soft at the same time.

Is this supposed to be a romance or a detective novel? I don't think I could roll my eyes any harder in some sections, and if I have to hear about dueling/flittering/(insert any random action verb) + tongues one more time, I'm going to vomit. It's more like 50 shades of blue... the main cop character abounds with toxic masculinity and the woman protagonist is just as bad.

As usual...

This book was an easier, funnier book than some of her more serious thrillers. I loved it. Read it in one sitting. If you enjoy Nora Roberts, you will enjoy Ms. Grant equally as much!

It was reminiscent of lot of previous Harlequin that typically have a psychic h and a skeptical H who is from the Police force. This is no different except the h was really strong, likeable and better than her typical counterparts from this genre.

HAHAHAHA! Thank goodness Kylie Brant has broken out of this 1980's style romance novel writing style. I think my favorite part was where the heroine was wearing a full slip and thigh-high stockings. I kept listening (audio book) for the absurdity of what passed for romance novels of old.

Alternating POV within paragraphs which was confusing. Writing and plot were very HR.

Narrator sounded like she recorded in a can. Her accent was strange—a slight mix of country and valley girl. Subtle but annoying.

Conner is a tough cop with a cynical outlook on relationships. Most of the time it’s hard to figure out what Michele sees in him. But she smooths his rough edges and he finally sees the truth of who she is.

The mystery of the kidnappings was mediocre also the chemistry between them was present but i wanted the author to explore more feelings on the H's side and not just simple ILY at the end.

McLains Law

I have loved Kylie Brants books but this one had too much graphic sex and not enough mystery. Maybe next time will be better.

Not a bad story line. Wasn’t expecting the sexuality in it. It was not needed/too graphic.

This story was far more focused on the mild erotica relationship between Conner and Michele. Very little of the story seemed to be about the missing children and finding them. Major disappointment.

Michele Easton goes to the police to tell them she has information about a missing children case. She explains she has dreams about the children. Connor McClain is the head detective. He doesn't believe in psychics and he doesn't trust psychologists which is was Michele is. He runs a background check but nothing pops on it. He thinks she must be involved in the kidnapping somehow to know all that she does. Michele is furious that he won't at least keep an open mind. Someone threatens Michele and Connor's protective side comes out. They are spending a lot of time together and begin a relationship. Michele realizes she will probably get hurt. Connor thinks he's not the right man for her but can't resist. He thinks things will end when the case is over. Michele has a dream about the case but Connor won't believe her. She takes time off work to investigate and Connor catches her. Her dream is correct and the case is solved. Connor & Michele commit to each other.
