Could true love come twice in a lifetime? Barbara Ellis didn't think so, at least not until she met Kyle Waters. Tall and ruggedly handsome, Kyle's piercing green eyes told Barbara that he was a man who got what he wanted at any cost -- both in his work as an architect and in his personal life.
She still treasured her dead husband's memory, and did not want to be unfaithful to the only man she had ever loved. At least not until Kyle began to stir an unbridled passion deep within her, one that he met with a fiery desire of his own!

3.25 stars 26-year-old heroine is still reeling with the loss of her beloved husband and going through the motions when her sister invites her to spend the summer with her and her husband. On her journey she runs into a man who turns out to be her sister's brother-in-law and staying at the same place. His presence disturbs the heroine and the shroud she has taken on, she will never love again but the hero doesn't let her wallow in her grief. The hero is a successful architect with a money hungry ex. I felt the hero's secret was fairly obvious , and the author also did a great job of showing us the heroine's healing process: willing to move on emotionally and even with her career. All in all not bad.
I love this book!!!! It was the first romance novel I ever read and I have searched for years trying to find another copy of it. I had read mine over and over so many times I wore holes in the pages and the book fell apart. For me this book was the start of my romantic experience in life. Wish I could find d a hard copy, can't even get it on my kindle.😣
Don't laugh, but this was one of my favorite reads as a teenager. It holds up pretty well, to be honest. The only thing that really stands out to me reading it now is the Jennifer/Jason naming pair. Yes, THAT dates the book to the '80s, all right.
