mình đọc cuốn này cách đây rất lâu ,lúc ấy còn rất trẻ ,có những câu từ k thể hiểu hết ,đành bỏ ngỏ ,sau này theo năm tháng va vấp với dòng đời ,đọc lại vẫn thấy nó hay ,hay vì nó thâm thúy ,hay vì nó giúp ta đứng vững hơn trong cuộc sống ,đặc biệt mình kính trọng cách nhìn nhân sinh quan của tác giả .mình đã tặng nó cho một ng bạn rất thân ,hy vọng cuốn sách này sẽ giúp ích dc nhiều ng.

Mr. Konosuke Matsushita (1894-1989) was an industrialist likely best known as the founder of the major Japanese multinational conglomerate, Panasonic. This thin volume is actually a collection of essays first published in Japanese in 1968, combined with the translated edition, has as of 2021 sold over 5.5 million copies. The book has practical wisdom, but what stands out is this man of great accomplishment writing this from a place of tremendous humility. The final chapter is entitled "For the Country to Prosper," which reflect his important contributions to Japan's recovery after the end of WWII. He popularized the saying "Peace and Happiness through Prosperity" while focused on production in the immediate aftermath of WWII, he believed "through both material and spiritual prosperity, humankind should be able to achieve a peaceful and happy life." It is clear that Mr. Matushita was a very philosophical and his considerations were far beyond just the bottom line. One way his legacy lives on is through the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management which seeks to train Japan's next generation of leaders "to create a grand plan for the long-term future of the nation."

Its a compilation of philosophy essays written by Japan's Father of Management. Well known fellow in both Japan's business and inspiration world.

After reading this book, i understood why he inspired many people even within this era. His way of thinking, and his words.... reminds me of the saying of Prophet Muhammad. There are similarities in the context and yet was born out of his own perception. Probably because he was compassionate on what he has done, or being humble with things, or maybe both and beyond.

Whatever it is, this is not a book to read once, but to be hold to, read it again and again in time, just to have a good reminder about values of life.

I am trying to restore my Ukrainian hence I have read its translation (double translation JP > EN > UA so I presume a lot of stuff has been lost).
I quite liked the book, it is very soft and non-imperative, slightly less categorical than the modern day books, a set of life rules written down by someone, who's achieved a lot back in his days.
A guide on individual development in the context of everchanging society of the nation (back when there was such a thing).
I have to read the original, this particular translation lacks depth.
But being Japanese, it gets an extra score (biased, sorry :D )

У кожного своя дорога, свій власний неповторний шлях. Однак, ідеї і роздуми Коносуке підкинуть цікавого і розширять кордони будь-кого, хто готовий прийняти відповідальність за свою реальність. Він ніби утворює невидиму нитку зв’язку минулого з майбутнім, індивідуального зі світом. Книга варта уваги і варта витраченого часу, та більш корисною видалась в невеличких порціях і часом для думок опісля.

I was expecting a story of the founding of Panasonic, but this was not at all that. This was more of a mix of allegories and general advice about working together, finding purpose, etc. One concept, "fighting with real swords" that struck me talked about how you won't be focused unless you are playing for real stakes. not much else of note

It's a good book full of smart conclusions, however, it feels a bit old. Anyone who has read a bunch of business books in their life would likely find almost nothing new for him- or herself. Besides, there was a desire to uncover some specific things from the history of Panasonic forming as a huge company - there was none. As for me, it was a kind and pretty easy-to-read book.

Жизнь - тяжелая штука, но вы держитесь. Хорошо переведенный сборник довольно очевидных мыслей и советов. Работайте, будьте скромны и думайте о других. Из плюсов - автор довольно лаконичен, и для своего формата книга хорошо структурирована, но как-то в ней не хватает души.

One of my biggest weaknesses is that I fall prey to any book that has the title ‘International Bestseller’ or ‘Over X Million Copies Sold’. So when I read the cover page that stated ‘International Bestseller – Over 4 Million Copies Sold’ – I could not resist but purchase this book.

So was this book a disaster.
Was I fooled?
Did I waste my money.

Well, get ready for the surprise.

This book was an absolute masterpiece!
Honestly, it left me totally speechless.

I was awe-struck, mesmerized and totally fascinated in the profound manner by which this book was written. The sincerity & simplicity in which thoughts were expressed, the wisdom contained in each and every page and the honesty that poured forth every chapter was something truly memorable.

In my opinion, books written by icons like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Warren Buffet tend to have a one dimension or rather a monotone to their view of life. It can either focus on topics like creativity, a vision or a change-the-world commitment. Seldom if ever, do you get a visionary or founder of a company speaking to you about some beyond himself, a inner dialogue or inner reflection set on the foundation of universal truths and a passionate desire to seek answers to the very confusing questions to life. Konosuke Matsushita has proved without a shadow of doubt that he has achieved the Zen to brilliantly master this art. And he has flawlessly manifested the true essence of what every human being asks, reflects and desires in this truly silent and small yet superbly scripted book

I am honestly impressed and very touched by this book.

Overall, a very deep philosophical book that must be read by people of all ages, cultures and religions.

I loved it and most probably I would want to read it again – only this time really slow so that I let the words sink into my soul.
