Although I have bought the Japanese edition, I eventually read the book in Chinese. Sakai is extremely down to earth and from this book I can tell he knows how to enjoy every single bit of his life. He works hard, yet maintains a relaxing and sometimes inquisitive mood towards everything and everyone.
Reading his stories I found myself feeling calm, a rare mood for me lately. I guess that is due to Sakai as an actor spent nearly two decades to achieve the fame he has right now. Anyone who is less patient or resilient would withered and gave up.
He is an idol to me, not of fame, but of his way of experiencing life, achieving the concept of 一期一会 in treating people and things.
