"True love. I have seen it. Now, I want to feel it."
Delphine Delmar, the seventeen-year-old Princess of Isola di Squalo, fell in love with love as she watched her siblings get swept away and find their “happily ever afters.” Now, she longs to find a true love of her own.
She makes the brave and fateful decision to leave her home to find her heart's desire and hopes for a fairy tale ending.
On the journey, she finds joy, frustration, heart-break, confusion and elation, but she can never escape her promise to the people of her home island. The sharks search her out across the globe, and now, it's a race against time to extinguish an invisible threat. Will Delphine have to return home before she has found what she is looking for?
Yes, this is a biased review since I wrote this book. BUT....I really enjoyed putting Delphine's story on paper (or e-paper). She was a fun character to work with as were all of the others. The reader gets to see a return of favorite characters from Book 1 as well as get introduced to brand new ones. Delphine's story is (in my opinion) a relatable, teenage experience full of the angst that we all endure. I hope everyone enjoys getting to know her as much as I did.
3.5 stars. Quick read. Not as good as the first book, it's mainly just fluff but still a fun read. Took me about three hours to get through it. I'll be working on the rest of the series soon.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Delphine follows the story of young princess Delphine Delmar. Four years after the end of the first book (before the epilogue) and Delphine is searching for love. She has decided to go to school off the island and the school she chose just happens to be in Canada. She has a purple haired roommate, a bodyguard who follows her everywhere, she has to get used to the insanely cold weather that she never experienced back home.
I was so excited to read more about Delphine and all the characters that I came to love in Isola di Squalo but I was also extremely frustrated for a lot of the book. Delphine is a hopeless romantic, as am I, but she is so naive I just wanted to grab her hand and lead her away like a child. She is so in love with the idea of love that she puts herself in situations that aren't good for her. She gets out of one bad relationship and rebounds right into another. When she finally started to figure it out I was so excited.
A charming story, about a young woman's search for true love. Just one slight snag - she's a Royal, albeit from a small, not very well known island in the Mediterranean but, nevertheless, a Royal. This is likely to bring its own problems into the equation, as she starts college in Canada incognito, but accompanied by her bodyguard. Will she be able to pull off this attempt to live a normal life and meet someone to love? Read it and see.
By the way, she is also linked, by an ancient legend, to the shark which guards the Island Kingdom. When the sharks appear - something is badly wrong.
