For seven long years Chief Park Ranger Henry Shore has been dealing with and fighting anachronistic dinosaurs in his beloved Crater Lake National Park and in the surrounding town of Klamath Falls. It began with one lone leviathan, the one he tongue-in-cheek called Godzilla. Henry and his band of heroes defeated it but others the flying varieties he named gargoyles, the mutant T-Rexes and roaming velociraptors that were so much smarter than their ancient ancestors. He, his rangers and the National Guard soldiers, fought all of them, but still the dinosaurs, cunningly destructive and blood-thirsty, kept coming. No one knew where they came from or what the future would now hold for a besieged humanity, they only knew the monsters were spreading like a voracious wildfire and had to be stopped before they ravaged the world. Eventually, he and his wife, Ann, their family and friends, retreated into a fortified ranger headquarters where they continued to battle the proliferating dinosaurs. Will Henry’s son-in-law, Doctor Justin Maltin, a brilliant paleontologist, find a way to exterminate the creatures and save them…save the world? And, more importantly, would he be able to do it in time? There are now six Dinosaur Lake books.
About Kathryn Meyer Griffith 2023 Since childhood I’ve been an artist, and have worked as a graphic designer in the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to write full time. But I’d already begun writing novels at 21, over fifty-one years ago now, and have had thirty-five (romantic horror, horror novels, romantic SF horror, romantic suspense, romantic time travel, historical romance, thrillers, one non-fiction short story collection, dinosaur books, and murder mysteries) previous novels and thirteen short stories published from various traditional publishers since 1984. But I’ve gone into self-publishing in a big way since 2012; and upon getting all my previous books’ full rights back for the first time in 36 years, have self-published all of them. My seven Dinosaur Lake novels and Spookie Town Murder Mysteries (Scraps of Paper, All Things Slip Away, Ghosts Beneath Us, Witches Among Us, What Lies Beneath the Graves, All Those Who Came Before, When the Fireflies Returned, and Echoes of Other Times) are my best-sellers. I was married to Russell for over forty-three years; have a son, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. I live in a small quaint town in Illinois. I have a quirky cat, Sasha, and we live happily in an old house in the heart of town. Though I’ve been an artist, and a folk/classic rock singer in my youth with my late brother Jim, writing has always been my greatest passion, my butterfly stage, and I’ll probably write stories until the day I die…or until my memory goes. 2012 EPIC EBOOK AWARDS *Finalist* for her horror novel The Last Vampire ~ 2014 EPIC EBOOK AWARDS * Finalist * for her thriller novel Dinosaur Lake.

Dinosaur Lake IV by Kathryn Meyer Griffith is the finale for this awesome horror series and I was soooo curious to see how she would wrap it up. Needless to say, Dino IV is every bit as good as the first book and if you are a creature feature fan, like I am, this is a must have for your reading shelf.
Life had changed since the dinosaurs came…and never left. How can humans coexist with such dangerous creatures?
Seven years…and we are at ground zero.
I was only 5% in and felt like we had lost already, but…
It’s winter and the dinosaurs are at bay. I know they won’t stay that way.
Imagine, a world devoid of life, no birds chirping, no wolves howling, no deer snorting in the wilderness park…just silence.
We are back with some familiar characters, and seeing Kathryn is not afraid to kill them off, I wonder who will be left standing at the end.
Defense, everything is about defense. Living on the front lines, driving around in tanks, always armed, the threat of attack always there. It is war.
Man, oh man. Kathryn Meyer Griffith sure can write. I already knew it, but her writing is filled with so much action and suspense, danger and death, that it invokes feelings of sorrow, I have tears in my eyes, yet I am filled with rage. I am amazed, over and over again, at her ability to spin a tale that leaves me breathless. Her stories are filled with so much creativity and originality, I hate to reach the end.
The suspense and tension filled pages made me read until the wee hours of the morning, unable to stop until the last page was read.
I was super curious how Kathryn would wrap up the series and I think she did a fabulous job! I wonder, though…
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Dinosaur Lake IV by Kathryn Meyer Griffith.
One of the things I love about this series is how the action just seems to come of the pages. You almost feel like you have pulled into the story and are experiencing it alongside the characters. I love that the author kept the majority of the characters that we all loved from the series. I was for some of the characters who died, but the dinosaurs have to get a kill in once in a while or they wouldn't terrify the people... right?! I love how the author wrapped up the series and how the end came about. The only thing I wish I knew for sure was what happened to the little helpful dinosaur. I really liked him and hoped that he survived the war. Overall, an awesome ending to a a series that I won't soon forget.
For those of you who love dinosaurs, especially the ones that eat you, you’re gonna want this book and this series.
It began with just one dinosaur, eating it’s way through Crater Lake National Park and the town of Klamath Falls. Those who survived thought it was over. But not too long after, different ones come, and the dying begins again.
It’s been seven years since it all began and the dinosaurs are winning.
I’d been waiting for this final book in the Dinosaur Lake series and ate it up faster than the killer dinosaurs ate man. You’re dropped right smack in the thick of things. Chief Park Ranger Henry Shore and his wife, along with several others, are trapped in a ranger station. They do their best to make it impregnable, but the creatures are cunning, hungry, and dead set on getting in. Their hope lies in the expertise of paleontologist Doctor Justin Maltin, Henry’s son-in-law. Can he find a way to send the dinosaurs back to extinction? And who will be left?
Having read the other books, I knew Kathryn didn’t spare any of her character’s. Many that I was fond of didn’t make it this far. And of those who did, I don’t doubt some will also fall to the creatures.
As the dinosaurs do their thing, you don’t get much down time between the savage attacks and it’s a toss up who will win, man or beast. Kathryn gets very creative with her monsters. They aren’t like what you expect. They’re worse. And I loved them!
This isn’t just occurring in the park and surrounding towns. It’s happening all over the world. Think Jurassic Park on steroids. Is this The End? I believe it’s the end of this series. But I can see so many ways the author can take this further. Grab the series and find out.
I received a complimentary copy. My review is voluntarily given.
Brilliant yet again..stayed up all night to finish this one. Made me remember all the trials and tribulations of previous adventures in the series..it takes a special story weaver to make me actually FEEL what these characters do..another knockout. A well designed wrap up to my favorite series..but I see tidbits I enjoy imagining ...hehe
Bang!!! That’s how this book starts off, no waiting it’s in your face. This book requires you to step out of your box and just let the story flow. Oh, you’ll have questions, but just like on Star Trek Scotty can beam you up this book takes you there. You’ll never be bored or want to skip pages. I’m sad I finished, but there was no way I could drag it out any longer. I needed to know, and partly some things I guessed. However, I did my beat to stay in the confines of the story and not try to figure things out. If I ever hear a loud screeching noise, I’ll know the Dinosaurs are here. I didn’t give it 5 stars as I found a few grammatical errors ☹️
I chose 5 stars because this book is worth it. 1) great characters, you definitely want to know 2) the mounting suspense; will Ann, Henry, McDowell, Justin and Steven survive? 3) ever expanding view of dinosaurs' destruction 4) someone is actually wanting to save the world 5) ever more different dinosaurs exploding throughout the book wreaking absolute havoc - plus one very unusual evolvingspecies! Read the book; better yet, read the series . You won't regret it.
The story is fun and well illustrated as well as the other 3 former books. This is one of my 3 favorite dinosaur series i purchased via Kindle so far ( the other 2 are Jurassic dead and In Situ). Unfortunately I feel like some plot in this book is not well answer through the story. I had finished the book yesterday (through Audible) this plot question still stick in my mind. Anyway this book is such a good read to entertain on your free time that I will recommend you guys to read. :)
I absolutely loved her dinosaur series, I lost myself in her story telling, it seemed so real and not always did the good guys prevail. Some parts brought tears to my eyes. I felt I new all the characters personally. I really loved Henry and Ann and their family. I also enjoyed the little monkey like dinosaur she brought into the story. What an amazing journey she took me on. Thank you Kathryn Meyer Griffith. I recommend this book highly.
I enjoyed this book very much! I'm looking forward to the next book, which I'll be starting shortly. I'm really glad Miss Kitty Cat and Sasha made it through this bout with the dinosaurs. I'm curious to find out what became of "dinosaur-at-the-window". All in all, this is a pretty good dinosaur series. I'm not too sure of the 2 books dealing with aliens. I'm curious to find out how they tie into the dinosaur story line.
I had re Dinosaur Lake 1-3 over a year ago. Just finished rereading them and then book 4. The series is well written and good exciting reads. There where a few editorial errors. Not enough to be distracting. I am an avid reader and do not leave many reviews. Great story line. I recommend to all.
I loved this series of books, I was disappointed it had come to an end. The writing of the story was impeccable, it immersed the reader into the story so unbelievably well it felt like you were there with the characters going through it all with them. I will miss being transported to their world. Well done Kathryn Meyer Griffith.
I read all four and enjoyed every page! Loved the author's characters and especially her myriad of dinosaurs. Would recommend all four books to anyone who enjoys a good read and making friends (the fictional kind, of course)!!
Wow!What a lot of creatures rampaging in this one!I really enjoyed it! Johnnie C. Hayes was a very good narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'
Love this series. I don’t want to start the last one so it doesn’t end. As I was finishing up this book...I knew that there’s another one because the monkey dinosaurs went deep into the woods.
I really enjoyed the first book and I like that series but I thought this one was slow, repetitive and almost uneventful. I thought the ending was rushed, actually the whole book feels rushed. My least favorite of the 4.
