There's a killer on the loose, and I need to keep my woman safe.
ALLISON

A rough year? That's putting it mildly.
After my parents died in a gruesome car crash, I moved to the city with my sister, Cassandra.
The only way to make a name for myself was to befriend a policeman and get all the gory details on the serial killer running rampant in the city.
But I came too close to the fire, and I got burned... Now the killer is after me.
Darkly handsome cop Kyle Simons could rescue me - but there's only two things he cares about.
Catching the killer...
And getting me into his bed.

KYLE

For the past two years of my life, I've been obsessed with catching him.
X, the mysterious villain who I suspect took many lives, my girlfriend's being one of them.
When Allison Reid, a sexy-as-hell journalist, walks into my life with a determined step, I'd do anything to get her off my back.
I hate journalists. They're scum.
But she makes me an offer... Find the killer, and have her for one night.
I would've done it either way.
But Allison will be the perfect reward to another finished case.

Full length, standalone bad boy romance. No cliffhanger, no cheating and a happy ending guaranteed.

This is a fascinating book...it's more like a true crime detective story rather than a bad boy romance. I must say that Marci Fawn has done an outstanding job of creating a storyline supported by well developed characters. The plot twists and turns alone kept me turning the pages of my Kindle!

Marci Fawn did such an adept job at setting the scene for what went down in this story, you'll feel everything the characters did--fear, loathing, rage, grief--it's all there.

I truly enjoyed this book as it turned out to be so much more than the title implied. After the emotional roller coaster of this story, it felt good to know the story ended with a HEA.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
Kyle is a cop who has a personal vendetta to catch a serial killer. Allison is an investigative journalist, who stumbles across Kyle at a crime scene. They do not get off to a very good start, and when Allison goes home things are brought too close to home, and she receives a warning from the killer. These two decide to team up in order to catch the killer. There are many twists and turns in this storyline, but it is an intriguing and interesting read.
Marci has written a good story, and I was reeled in from the very beginning. Look forward to reading more of this authors work.

This was one freaking good story. It had everything that I love, hot alpha, murder, mystery, suspense, and thrilling. Allison is a journalist and Kyle is the cop. There is a serial killer on the loose.

Kyle is determined to find this killer, as he has personal ties to it. Allison is warned to stay away but her sister is killed. This was a fast paced story and gets really good about halfway when everything starts coming to play. You can see the growth off the characters but it's mainly Allison that grows. Kyle is finally letting go and it's different to see a man cry a few times in this story.

This didn't receive 5 stars as it still needs some editing but they may be because I received an Advanced Review Copy, which I am voluntarily providing an honest review for.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. Kyle is a cop who is investigating a serial killer who killed who girlfriend of eleven months. Allison is a journalist trying to get a break in a new town. Allison calls upon Kyle to help her with her sister's murder investigation because she doesn't believe her sister committed suicide. While tracking down the case Kyle and Allison fall helplessly in love with each other. I gave this book 4 stars because the title is a little misleading. Kyle is definitely not a bad cop, but his boss is.

I received this ARC book from the Author in exchange for my honest review.

YUMMY ..... and so HOT!

Kyle is a police officer who is looking at another case of a woman in a compromising position after being discarded by her killer. This is serial murder and it disgusts Kyle. The lack of integrity for this murder victim is upsetting too. He knows this is another one that will not draw him any closer to finding the killer. A voice from behind asks him a question, great, a reporter....just what he needs to make this case and his headache with this case worse. He turns to see her face and he loses himself in her eyes, her smile, in her! Why is this happening?

Allison is trying her best to make a career for herself by doing this journalist bit. She is basically doing this on her own. She knows that this case is higher profile and she wants to see if she can get the story and help find the killer all at the same time. She just moved to this town with her sister (after the loss of their parents) and she wants a whole new her....so she took on this job. Boy this cop is rather rude to her, although she understands his take on her being there, she is taken aback by him. When he turned around to tell her to go away she is drawn to him even more. She knows he wants nothing to do with her but man, she wouldn't mind seeing how long that lasts.

Kyle sends Allison on her way, but not before making sure she has his card....odd, he didn't think that he could have these feelings again, not after ..... When Allison gets home she calls out to her sister, but no response, which is odd. So she goes up to her sisters room and she is horribly hurt to find what has happened to her sister, in their house. She sees an envelope addressed to her on the dresser.....what the?!???! After calling the police and the Captain insisting this is a suicide and goes on his way, she doesn't know what to do, so she calls Kyle. He thinks she is calling about the story, and in a way she is, however on the opposite side of it now. She needs help. They both agree to meet. Once they meet a plan gets hatched and it is off to the Dirty Vixen Club. This is where the girls seem to be coming from (well except for one now) and Kyle has a history there already....as Allison finds out. Now she is basically told she will be a decoy in the guise of a stripper.....and she wants to be swallowed up by a big black hole. She is not this type of woman.

Kyle is there helping her "get into character" in a private suite (the same suite the killer uses to lure his victims) and she is given a costume to wear from the owner of the club. Allison is mortified and wishes for all this to just disappear.....and now Kyle is telling her to show him her moves and dance for him....great! She is a but timid and has no idea really what to do, as this is not her thing. He knows what she should do and how she should....again he has a history there. That sticks out in Allison's mind too. A little jealousy and a lot of chemistry. Kyle "helps" her loosen up and things get heated. Then he takes her home (which is a motel room for her right now because of what happened in her house and it is still a crime scene) He goes to his apartment. Neither one can get what happened out of their mind, both hoping it is more than just something to do with this case. Secrets and pasts get shared. Kyle never thought he would allow someone in his life this deep again, and Allison is opening up about what has made her start over again in this town. Sparks fly (YUMMY sparks) and little by little they get closer and closer, both in finding and catching the killer, and to each other.

Oh, but wait. There are a few twists thrown in here and there and just when things are going good in this direction, you are guided elsewhere, and wow did that just happen? How is that going to help/hinder them? Do they have each others backs or not? Can they make this work professionally and personally? Does there happen to be a HEA? I can't share that with you, because you will miss all the little things, the big things and all the hot stuff in this book.....so please read it, you will be enjoying ever bit of it just like I did.

Allison is a journalist who is looking for the inside scoop on a serial murder story. She's new in town, along with her sister Cassandra, and looking to make a name for herself. Unfortunately for Allison she snoops to close and the killer, the mysterious X, kills Cassandra as a warning. Kyle is the police detective assigned to the murders and he meets Allison at one of his crime scenes. He kicks her out but not before giving her his number and making a pass. Soon, these two are running all over the city trying to find the killer and apprehend him. Kyle has some problems from his past because of an old girlfriend who he believes was murdered by the mysterious X. These two have some problems but eventually they work together. I loved their chemistry and realness. I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

This book flowed very nicely, but at times it felt a little odd. This book had romance (good naughty moments), suspense, heartbreak and betrayal. Allison and Kyle are two very strong and capable characters, but I feel like their relationship was forced as opposed to natural flow. We were basically told they loved each other instead of actually seeing it unfold.

Spoilers below:

At first we meet Kyle, a cop, at homicide scene which is also where he meets Allison for the first time. Allison, who just moved the area with her sister, is journalist at least that is what we are told there is no history given and she lives with her sister a college student. Right after we meet Allison and Kyle warns her away from this serial killer, she comes home to find her sister murder by the serial killer. And this is pretty much where everything goes awry for me.

I really wanted to love the story, but it just wasn't believable. Allison has literally just started investigating the murder and he already knew who she was and managed to murder her sister. Kyle has been searching for the killer since his girlfriend was murdered two years prior and could never get a lead, but apparently the killer was a regular at his friend's strip club. To be honest, I felt like as many times as they were caught during the investigation they should not have survived all of them.

There were also some inconsistencies with names (Cassandra's name was changed three times: Cassandra, Callie and Cynthia) and the timeline was confusing (it was only three days that everything took place, but Kyle said he loved Allison for weeks). These weren't major problems and I usually don't care about the minor stuff, but it did take away from the story and made parts of it confusing.

I got this book for an honest review by the author and it was an entertaining story.
http://thesecretworldofbooklovers.blo...
It had enough mystery to keep it interesting and scary enough “bad guys” to make you unable to stop reading it, in order to find out what happened next.

Kyle is the typical “good cop” in a city where evil prevails and he has almost given up on his life, he lives to find the killer and get his revenge, until he meets her.

Allison is a wannabe journalist that is in the wrong place at the wrong time and when things seem to go crushing down in her life, he is there for her and that changes everything for both of them.

The story was okay, I loved the murders and that part of the book, but their story was a bit too fast paced for my taste.

The fact that she didn’t mourn her sister was off-putting to me, how can you be so cool about her dying? Even though you are trying to solve a murder you still hurt and I didn’t feel it, I almost forgot about her sister till she said ‘oh and revenge for my sister’.

The connection between the characters was good and the sex scenes are hot, they definitely fit each other perfectly.

Overall it was a fun read, but I couldn’t connect with the characters on a deeper level.
Still good and entertaining.

This book was an enjoyable read. The characters were good and the story was interesting. I was thrown a little bit because I didn't quite see Kyle as a bad cop or bad boy that much. In the situation they were in, he did well. He was always out for justice and he didn't really seem to flaunt the rules, at least not in the way a bad cop/bad boy would. He was just trying to catch the killer and didn't even realize half the time that it might get thrown out for the way he was getting it. Allison is a journalist trying to make a name for herself and meets Kyle for the first time hours before her sister is murdered by the serial killer they are after. The connection there was not the clearest for me as it seemed that Allison had just come on to the case and so why the killer went after her sister to warn her away so fast was a little strange for me. The sex is explicit and there is a lot of sexual chemistry between Kyle and Allison. There's some twists, though it wasn't really unpredictable for me. I didn't have any trouble enjoying the story though.

This is a intriguing and interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This story covers Kyle Simons, a arrogant policeman investigating and trying to track a serial killer that murdered his girlfriend and other women. Allison Reid, a determined journalist who goes home and finds her sister murdered and a note telling her to stop investigating things she does not know and this is her first severe warning. What you will find in this book is drama, suspense, intrigue, a arrogant policeman, a determined journalist, a serial killer, a corrupt police boss, drugs, a sister's murder, a warning, note, police, possible suicide, phoning Kyle, meeting, a deal, leaving, hearing a plea, a dead woman, attacked, choked, rescued, finding a membership card, strip club, friends, checking, alias name, booked a dance, Allison is perfect, not serious, going to strip, dancing for Kyle, next night, dancing, John Smith, an arrangement, alleyway, arrested, police station, noticing it is the same policeman who was at her sister's murder/suicide, drinking, talking, apartment, a call from boss, John Smith/Morris Walton, released, drop case, old warehouse, Kyle knocked out, Allison screaming, tied up, injected with drug, passed out, Kyle being beaten, punching back, grabbing gun, rescuing Allison, Kyle's home, telling Kyle what she was told about Lyia's involvement, a note to Allison, warehouse, Allison discovering evidence, Kyle's home, finding note, a call, come home, watching video, calling DEA buddy, meeting docks, Allison stabbed, hospital, finally Allison back in his home, not a cop anymore, opened a private investigation firm, Allison a writer now, a proposal, acceptance, lust, emotional feeling, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a good bad boy romance.

This started of with a bang and just kept going. I love how Kyle and Allison are thrown together by a bad situation and fall in love despite it all. Kyle is a hardened cop on the case of a serial killer and Allison is the reporter who crosses his path. The killer hits to close to home for her and Kyle is who she turns to. By the end I was happy to see it all work out and enjoyed the roller coaster ride to get there.

If you like mystery, suspense, and some hot sex added to the mix, then you will love Marci Fawn's new book, Bad Cop. In this book we meet aspiring reporter Allison. After her parents are killed in a car crash, her and her sister move away from their small town to the big city. Her little sister Cassandra is going to college, and she wants to be a reporter. When she runs into Detective Kyle at a crime scene, she's excited to be the first reporter there to get the scoop. That elation quickly turns to deflation when the Detective not only refuses to give her any information, but suggests she pack up and leave for some place better and safer. But she's not going to give up....

Detective Kyle is on the hunt for a serial killer. When yet another body shows up in an alley matching the killer's MO, he's not sure he'll ever be able to find him. When reporter Allison shows up, he almost drops his notes on the body as his jaw drops to the floor. Allison has got to be the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He tries to send her on her way, but offers up his business card as a peace offering. He's hoping more for a one-night stand than for her to reach out trying to get more information that he's not willing to give. When Allison ends up calling him for help, he goes to her. What she reveals will have them working together in order to solve multiple murders.

I didn't want to put this book down once I picked it up! I love a good mystery--the suspense, the action, trying to figure out who did it and how it is going to end. There are twists and turns in this book that you may or may not see coming. There is a lot more going on with Detective Kyle and why he's so fixated on stopping this killer. When Allison gets into more trouble, Kyle is more than willing to protect her. This starts to bring them closer, but will they still be able to work together to solve the crime? Great sexy and suspenseful read!!

Kyle and Allison meet in the most unlikely place, the scene of the most recent murder. Kyle is the cop on the case with his own personal ties to the case, his ex-girlfriend was a victim. Allison is a reporter out to get the story that could make her career, but ends up in the bad guy's crosshairs and with deadly consequences. Thrown together to break the case leaves them with feelings for each other that neither saw coming. With the twists and turns in the case showing both at their lowest it's not hard to see why they forge a relationship that can withstand so much. This was an action-packed read from Marci Fawn. Kyle is a cop who wants desperately to capture the serial killer. He's close to the case and at the scene of a crime he meets Allison who is a journalist. He can't stop thinking of her and gives her a worry to not write about the serial killer. But the warning is late and more tragedy comes to Allison's life. Growing closer Kyle is more determined to keep her safe. They both want justice, but will only one come out alive? I enjoyed reading this book and the characters are great together.

I have some mixed feelings about this book. It was well written and the plot flowed nicely, and had a nice mystery to it, and I really liked Allison and Kyle both. It was really interesting seeing them work together to find the killer and seeing them fall in love along the way, despite everything they had to deal with. However there were things that really bothered me about it. First, I didn't like that Kyle's girlfriend had died and was a victim of the killer, whenever a character has a girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband/etc that died.... it automatically puts a sad taint I don't like, and removes one star. But I like the author and I wanted to give her new book a chance. But then there was the second thing...

***spoiler****

Cassandra dies in like the second chapter. I almost didn't finish reading the book because of this. I didn't see it coming, and I DID NOT like it. Not at all. I forced myself to finish the book, and while the rest of the book was interesting.... I didn't enjoy it like I would have had Cassandra lived and been there. I was glad Allison and Kyle got an HEA, but I didn't consider it to be a true HEA because Cassandra was dead. Going into the book, I expected to see a nice relationship between Allison and Cassandra. After losing their parents, there was so much potential for them to be really close and seeing a nice sisterly relationship between them. So... yeah, I was extremely disappointed about that. If Cassandra had lived and been there at the end, this would have been a four star book for me, a five star if Kyle didn't have the former girlfriend that was dead.

Bad Cop was a good read. It had some things that left me scratching my head, but it wasn't enough to keep me from reading. I wanted to finish it and see how their HEA played out.
Kyle is a cop, a little arrogant at times, but not exactly what I would call a bad boy. He's on the hunt for a serial killer leaving women for dead in alley ways. It's a personal vendetta, one he will see to the end even if that means going down with it.
Allison is an investigative journalist hot on the trail of the murders when she runs into Kyle in an alleyway while he examines another dead woman. He warns her this is not the story she wants to pursue and she'd be better off getting out of the city. The last thing she wants to do is give up her dream career. It's supposed to help take care of her and her older sister, whom recently lost both parents to a car accident.
Allison comes home to find her sister murdered and a note addressed to her from the killer. She can't believe what just happened and has no one to turn to so she calls Kyle.
From here they take on the case to find the serial killer themselves. You'll have to find out for yourself how it plays out for Kyle and Allison! Will they get the killer? Will they survive? Will they end up together after the killer is apprehended? Pick up Bad Cop and find out! Their HEA is a sweet one.

This is the first book by this author I have read and it was provided for an honest review.

The story itself was a mixture of suspense, romance and strength. Kyle's character is a police officer who is tracking down a serial killer. One who just happened to have something to do with his girlfriends death. While at the scene of another victim a reporter, Allison arrives and starts asking question, which Kyle refuses to give up any information. That is their first meeting but not their last. From this point on things move rather quickly between Allison's sister becoming a victim of the killer and Allison herself almost following suite. She goes to Kyle for help and not only does an attraction form but they work together to gather evidence on the killer.

I enjoyed the story, yet I feel the title does not fit the story. Kyle is anything but bad. He's not perfect but far from bad. Their stories were heart breaking but their strength was amazing. And the ending was what they both deserved.

After reading this book I believe I would definitely read more that this author has coming out. Great characters, a fast moving interesting plot that kept and held my attention till the very end.

This is a very gritty tale about the search for a serial killer.

Kyle and Allison have both lost people to this killer and despite being on opposite sides of the story, he's a cop, she's a journalist, they find common ground and join forces.

Both of them fight the attraction that they feel towards one another, to no avail.

This is a very different "Bad Boy" story.

The characters all have depth, the story has twists, and nothing is taken for granted. We see the main protagonists at their best and, unusually, at their worst and yet, they still come through, not unscathed (no perfect hair, no pristine clothes, no stoic emotional reactions), but still recognisable as the people we've become attached to.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this book...it could have been cheap, it could have been tawdry..instead, it was a great read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I received an ARC from the author and promised an honest review.

The book starts off with Officer Kyle at a crime scene of another dead lady. Reporter Lorene arrives to get the story about the killings, and he warns her off the case. She leaves and goes home to find her sister murdered. Another victim of the serial killer? The cops who arrive say it's a suicide, but Lorene knows that's not truth. There is only one person Lorene can trust with the truth, so she calls Kyle. They have an immediate connection. They work together to catch the serial killer, and fall in love during the process.

Is Kyle supposed to be the bad cop in this story. I've read bad cop stories, and Kyle just doesn't fit the picture. He lost a girlfriend to the serial killer and is portrayed as an emotional, messed up cop who is not thinking straight.

It's a good story, but there are a LOT of twists and turns. I felt like details were left out from the story that would bring more depth to the characters, and story line.

This steamy little number is the first work by Marci Fawn I've read. I enjoyed the story and liked the characters. I don't really know that I'd call Kyle a bad cop, though. I thought he was caught in a crappy situation and doing his very best with the resources available to him. That being said, he definitely wasn't a White Knight. In typical hero-cop fashion he's not above bending the rules standing in the way of him getting justice for the victims. While I never got the sense that Allison was actually a journalist, I was glad that she was so much more than just the love-interest. She's strong, and vulnerable, and she's instrumental in finding the evidence that allows them to get justice.

I received this book as an ARC for a honest review!
Kyle and Allison are great characters, however I'm not sure I see where he is a bad cop or a bad boy. I think the situation just sucked for him. And losing his girlfriend did not help.
Allison and her sister need a fresh start after losing their parents, so they move to the city to start a new life. But then Allison's sister gets killed after Allison sticks her nose in a serial killer case. She is a journalist wanting to get the story. Which also kind of gave this book a mystery feel. Like a who done it book, instead of a romance.
It was still a great story and a good plot. It was a little quick but it worked.
I recommend this book to everyone!

I really enjoyed this book by Marci. It follows the characters of Allison Reid, a young journalist working on finding out about the latest serial killer, and Kyle Simons, the cop the cop on a personal mission to take down the same killer. As their paths cross over the body of the killer's latest victim, Kyle quickly blows her off, but as their lives begin to merge when Allison finds the body of her sister, they must work together to try to find the killer before it's to late. Can Kyle protect her from the killer and still get the vengeance he seeks? Or will Allison be a distraction from his job?
