Recenzie – „Codul Hoților” de Sir Steve Stevenson

Este a zecea carte din seria „Agatha Mistery” scrisă de Sir Steve Stevenson. Povestea se axează pe o nouă aventură a detectivilor Mistery care de data aceasta are loc în Berlin, capitala Germaniei.
Scriitorul își atrage cititorii prin stilul simplu ușor de digerat. Alături de personajele principale suntem însărcinați să descoperim cine și de ce i-a furat proprietarei hotelului Faust ceea ce pare să fie o rocă vulcanică banală. Ghidul și ajutorul nostru este Unchiul Helmut care s-a mutat în Germania pentru a studia operele Fraților Grimm.
Larry este băiatul copilăros, puțin neîndemânatic care dă dovadă de inteligență și curaj atunci când este nevoie. Agatha este “creierul” echipei, posedă cunoștințe vaste despre diverse domenii, este perspicace, iar dorința ei este să devină scriitoare de romane polițiste. O putem considera “detectivul fantomă”. Domnul Kent este “forța musculară” a echipei. Deși este personajul amuzant în mare parte, motanul Watson se dovedește a fi de mare ajutor asemeni unui copoi în anumite situații.
Cititorii vor trebui să se întoarcă în trecut și anume în perioada când Berlinul a fost împărțit între Germania de Vest și Est pentru a rezolva acest caz. Descifrând coduri secrete, ei își vor da seama că lucrurile nu sunt ceea ce par. Asemeni tinerilor detectivi, vom învăța cât de important este ne menținem calmul în situații dificile, să facem ceea ce este corect, să cercetăm amănunțit și să nu judecăm cartea după copertă. Istețimea, prietenia, moștenirea, răzbunarea, trădarea, familia, timiditatea, dezamăgirea sunt câteva dintre temele discutate în roman.
Alături de Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mihail Sadoveanu, Agatha Christie, Hergé, Thea Stilton (Elisabetta Dami), Jonathan W. Stokes și mulți alții, domnul Stevenson a revoluționat literatura pentru copii prin lumea creată de el.
Recomand această carte nu numai micilor cititori, dar și adulților.

Review – “The Code of Thieves” by Sir Steve Stevenson

It’s the tenth book from the “Agatha: Girl of Mystery” series written by Italian author Sir Steve Stevenson. The story focuses on the Mistery detectives’ new adventure that takes place in Berlin, the capital of Germany.
The writer attracts his readers through his simple writing style that can be easily digested. Together with the main characters we are tasked to discover who and why someone stole what seems to be an ordinary volcanic rock from the owner of the Faust Hotel. Our guide and helper is Uncle Helmut, who moved to Germany to study the literary works of the Brothers Grimm.
Larry is a childish boy. He displays intelligence and bravery when needed despite being a bit clumsy. Agatha is the brains of the team and possesses vast types of knowledge. She’s insightful and wants to be a crime novelist. We can consider her the “ghost detective”. Mr. Kent is the brawn of the team. Despite being the comic relief most of the time, Watson proves to be of great help like a hound in some cases.
The readers will have to travel back into the past namely during the times when Berlin was divided between the West and East Germany to solve this case. Like the young detectives, we learn how important it is to keep calm in difficult situations, to do what’s right, to dig deeper and to not judge a book by its cover. Cleverness, friendship, legacy, revenge, betrayal, family, shyness, disappointment are some of the themes discussed in the novel.
Together with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mihail Sadoveanu, Agatha Christie, Hergé, Thea Stilton (Elisabetta Dami), Jonathan W. Stokes and many others, Mr. Stevenson revolutionized children’s literature through the world that he created.
I recommend this book not only to young readers, but to adults too.

Larry ha un'occasione per poter migliore i suoi voti e poter non essere cacciato via dalla scuola di investigazione Eye School e deve partire immediatamente a Berlino per scoprire chi abbia rubato a Isotta Engelhart una roccia vulcanica che apparteneva a suo padre.
Larry chiede aiuto alla cugina Agatha Mistery e insieme al maggiordomo Mr Kent e all'inseparabile gatto Watson chiedono ad uno dei numerosi parenti Misyery sparsi in tutto il mondo di poterli aiutare nell'impresa.
Agatha scopre che il padre di Isotta e il possessore della roccia faceva parte della Banda del Muro i migliori contrabbandieri che trafficavano fra est ed ovest quando c'era il Muro di Berlino.
In una foto appaiono tutti coloro che ne facevano parte e con l'aiuto dello zio cercano di interrogare tutti i componenti della ex banda e capire chi abbia deciso di rubare ciò che all'apparenza sembra una semplice roccia da collezione.
Anche questa volta sarà Agatha a risolvere il caso e ad aiutare Larry a ricevere i complimenti e a non essere espulso dalla scuola di investigazione.
Sono libri particolarmente semplici da finire in un giorno, avventure autoconclusive che fanno spesso sorridere per i protagonisti, per l'essere imbranato di Larry, per il maggiordomo che si trasforma in una guardia del corpo, per il gatto che incidentalmente finisce tra i piedi del colpevole e l'arguzia della piccola Agatha che sogna di diventare una scrittrice di gialli e sempre sarà lei la protagonista di ogni misterioso giallo da risolvere

E adesso siamo arrivati a Berlino, dallo zio Helmut che adora le fiabe dei fratelli Grimm.

Si parte da una strana pietra di poco valore rubata da un albergo berlinese e si arriva ai contrabbandieri che passavano per i tunnel sotto il Muro.

Il mistero mi è sembrato un po' debole, ma ho adorato la parte storica, se così si può chiamare.
