Gabby and Mischelle are two friends hoping to escape the chaos in their lives. Shell's husband cheated on her with a younger woman, and Gabby's ex-boyfriend is stalking her. To get away from it all, the women head to Tybee Island, Georgia, looking for a weekend of fun in the sun. Once they get there, they encounter two charismatic yet mysterious men who have the power to inexplicably change their lives forever . . . or at least for the weekend.
I'm hoping there is a book 2. I really liked this book. The character Shelle has some self esteem issues that I hope she works out by the 2nd book. One of the best parts of the book to me was when Carl's mom tells his cheating wife off then slaps her across the room. I laughed so hard like I was there! Good book to read!
I listened to it on audio to have some background noise while I work from home during this quarantine but I found myself listening to it all the time as the author knows how to tell a good story and is good with her words. I really enjoyed it! And the ending does leave it open so there can be a sequel, which I would like to follow up on the characters.
The ending was unfulfilling. Cliffhangerish. Where and when did Gabby & Mischelle meet because that a very large age gap as friends? Some of the details were 1990ish instead of 2016ish cause who orders a cab 2 days ahead of departure and what 40yo has a house phone?
This was a good read. There is no ending. So I created my own. Carl and Mischelle get together as Mischelle ends up pregnant because they didn’t use protection in the shower. Diego and Gabby continue to meet up to hook up but ultimately she will show him how to love Ricky and when he surrenders to Ricky she falls in love with him and must fight to get him.

This is my first book by Noelle Vella. However, I am familiar with one of the authors. This dynamic duo hit it out the park with this book! I’ll keep this short because I don’t want to share too much and spoil it. The characters and their storylines are very relatable. I can’t wait to dive into part two!
This writing duo pulled me in AGAIN! This read was spicy, but had you thinking about what would you really do when faced with extreme drama at home and a weekend affair! With all that was happening with these two couples give me the damn affair! 😂🫣.
So this is what I consider an empty read or a time filler. That's not bad, but it's not good either. Let me just say that it is my first read by the author. I was confused because it had Nika Michelle on the cover but is by Noelle?? I did listen to the audiobook. The narrator was okay. A bit over pronounced if I can say anything. At one point the producers didn't cut out the fact that she even lost her place reading. You can actually hear her say that she lost her place😕 Not her fault but it was surprising that Buck Fifty did that.
So the story itself is a quick little number, and so with that being said there isn't enough room to really shock the reader or get really deep. It is somewhat predictable, but sort of fun. It's one of those guilty type of reads. There is nothing at all to be gained. There is a lot of sex. A lot. The characters are not completely developed, but I would say Carl is the most developed character. So it's not surprising that he and Shelle had the better half of the story. The other characters Gabby and her dude were just fillers. They are quite pointless. The language that was being used was awkward at times... Like no one talks that way in real life even if you are educated and snarky. Sometimes the author used the same expressions for telling the male side as she did the female's side. That was weird. I mean guys don't think that way , but it wasn't horrible. As a matter of fact I stopped listening to a book and picked this up because the other one was a snooze fest and while this one did keep my interest there were stretches of this that was extremely boring and pointless. The author could really just write a book with Shelle, Malik, and Carl as main characters for book 2 and have a really solid piece. Gabby doesn't need to be a MC. The ending was very abrupt. Like I looked around and was like huh ? So needless to say she would do readers a disservice if she didn't do a second installment. My suggestion would be not to read this one until there is a sequel because that ending will irritate you to no end.
I listened to this audio book. I checked it out of my local public library where it's listed as an "urban romance". This genre is really outside of my normal reading. I picked this at random for a short auto trip. What I don't understand is when "romance" ends and "erotica" begins. I'm fine with erotica, but I was surprised to find this offered in my public library without any warnings of the graphic sexual content. Its also not mentioned in the GR description or in any of the reviews I read about it. If I was the parent of 10 to 16 years old child I wouldn't be very happy to find her (him) reading (or listening to) this book. As to the book itself, I divide into two parts, the erotic sections and the non-erotic sections. The erotic sections are good. There's a nightclub scene about one-third into the book that is very good. In my mind it's the highlight of the erotic action. Presenting it so early lessened the sexual tension for the rest of the book and made those scenes less meaningful. The non-erotic sections are well written, but the characters and their situations aren't interesting. The male characters are fantasy figures, which I guess is standard in this genre. The book has a appropriate ending, a nice ending, but then there's a 45 minute postscript (out of an 8 hour book) that brought the whole book down emotionally and soured it for me. I see there's a sequel to this book. Would I revisit these characters (and their problems again)? Probably not. Would I read another book by this author for the eroticism? Probably.
Opens with a violent, crash ,bang confrontational.CIA scene reminiscent of Nikola Cruz's Solace. Unfortunately the kids 3 and 4 were downstairs within hearing distance of their father the cheaters lewd activities w his mistress and now also their mother's out of mind and body reaction! Both H's non redemptive waste product status and the weekend journey \affair do not seem my cuppa today. Perhaps at some future date I'll come back to it but for now I'm DNF at 50% To be clear, nothing wrong with the writing or.Audible narration. Currently free.in Audible plus.
Noelle Vella’s *A Weekend Affair* is an engaging and interesting story that quickly draws you in with its well-developed characters and romantic tension.
While the plot is nicely paced, and the dialogue is sharp, the ending left me somewhat dissatisfied. It felt abrupt, and certain elements seemed unresolved, leaving me wanting more closure. Despite this, the book was enjoyable overall, and I appreciated the author’s writing style. I’ll definitely give Noelle Vella another chance with her future works. My rating would 3.5
This was a good read. Or should I say listen. I purchased the book on Audible. I wish it would have given a little more than it did. I gave it 4 stars because the storyline was slightly different than most. I really did not like the ending. Story of the side chick winning a "prize." By the end of the weekend the wife did learn her worth. Definitely a story of "One man trash is another man treasure!"
I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK! ❤️ it has been a long time since I read a genuinely good “sister-girl” book. I loved these 4 main characters and the author makes you truly want the best for them. In so many ways this book brought me back to great memories of times with my own girl friends and lovers. I hope there’s a part 2 to this book. I would love to see how things unfold beyond the weekend affair. Thank you N. Villa!
SUPER ROUGH LANDING! A 2 part epilogue and the book is still incomplete. I went on a manhunt for a part two but nada. It’s one thing for what happens next to be left to the readers imagination and a complete other thing for there to be an unfulfilled cliffhanger, if I could call it that. Felt like the Author put the pen down, went on a break and forgot to come back.
Audio - just ok. They really needed a male narrator for this book. A lot going on but also felt incomplete. My first book by this author and I’ll try them again once more. There’s potential. Book just didn’t climax for me. Sex scenes were average. Characters not overly developed. But much effort do kudos.
I found this book on my library site and found that the synopsis was interesting. I enjoyed the book and wished that it ended without leaving the reader hanging. I hope the author decides to write a sequel to this story.
I enjoyed this book. Malik and Dali were both pieces of shit spouses. I am glad Karl and Chelle found reach other. I do wanna know what happened with Diego, Gabi, and Ricky. I did not like the ending but I guess that is how they get us to read the next book.
A weekend affair was my kind of romance but it just gets one my nerves to see what these two women put them selves through. If u are into this kind of messy romance then u should take a look at this but if u like more vulgar erotic romance this isn’t for you.
This is my kind of book!! Chelle was your typical silly thinking woman. I really enjoyed how everyone hooked up and just enjoyed themselves. Those are the best kind of girls trip!
