Blood is just blood. Family ties are knit in the heart and strengthened by love.
With most of whom they consider ‘family’ already right there within their tight-knit circle, the Phoenix couples begin to look beyond that circle and contemplate those from the past who rejected and hurt them.
Deep down, Dane longs for reconciliation with his parents. But will his “lifestyle” and his previous callous goodbye be obstacles his family is incapable of getting past?
Abel wonders about his and Savannah’s parents; have they cleaned up their lives and become better people? Or have they sunk deeper and deeper into drugs and alcohol? Are they even still alive?
As Gabe begins to question Cole about a family—and a past—that he has kept quiet about for years, Cole remains evasive and obstinate, simply stating that he and his parents are dead to each other.
Through Darius, Max learns of the existence of other family members, though Darius warns Max against reaching out to them. Max is forced to wonder what exactly happened between his half-brother and their relatives that would cause Darius to keep his distance and warn Max to do the same.
Has enough time passed for healing and forgiveness to begin…or will the walls remain steadfast and unshakable?
Born and raised in scenic Coos County, Oregon, CJ enjoys the small town atmosphere and down-to-earth country folk who populate the area. She is a single mother and lives with her 18-year-old daughter, 1 horse, 4 dogs and 6 cats deep in the country woodlands which gives her plenty of time to write.
She is a Christian and a strong supporter of the LGBT community and favors gay erotic romance when it comes to writing. She hopes that her stories of love and acceptance will help further compassion and understanding for LGBT people who she feels is greatly misunderstood and persecuted - in a large party by the Christian community.
Most of all, she is hopeful that her stories will bring comfort to those who have been told that God hates them because they are different. It is her strong belief that God loves everyone and His love covers all.
*** OK, I'm hooked, ever since I read Bachelor Party, I have got to know more about these fabulous men. *** It's the morning after the bachelor party, hangovers are abundant, worn out sex partners are re-igniting their bedtime passions ! We get more background stories of how kids came to be with the guys, siblings, saved from horrid parents, and more info on a discovery. Two sets of guys are searching for long lost family; Abel and Devlin succeed, finding a brother, 14 yr. old Noah, he didn't know about. The other guys, Dane and Angel, find the still bigoted family. This group of people just tighten their "family" bond and become stronger. Of course there is more sexy times ! There is terrific progression in this series that keeps us wanting more. Cliffhanger ! ENJOY ! ================= ...I'm onto the next one... :) x
Abrupt ending spoils what could have been a great rounding up
2.5* In this book some of the Phoenix boys go off to try and tie up loose ends from their pasts but unfortunately the rather abrupt ending still leaves loads of questions needing answers. I'm not sure if there's any more out yet or if the author is intending to finish this mini series off but I do hope so.
Love how this author is going so much deeper into the characters lives. None of them have had a really great childhood or really caring parents. Can't wait to see what happens next.
This broke my heart. These people don't deserve to know any of these boys!!!! I can't even imagine how any human, let alone a human you created, just toss them away as garbage? How could any parent, let alone a mother who gave birth to you, just say get out and be done with it? Wtf, these people don't deserve to know any of thsee men. They are too good for the families. Don't lower yourselves to those vile, hateful douchebags. brilliant story as always
WOW ! So, the first book in this series was extremely lighthearted yet also extremely sexy. This one is DIFFERENT !! We get the angst and aggression back as we see how some of the couple deal with trying to get closure from their pasts. Absolutely LOVED IT !!
This book and this series is off the charts good! Can't wait for the next book. Love all of the Phoenix Boys! They are my favorite family ever!!!! I love this author and these guys!!! Happy Reading!!!!
Wow that was a great twist in events for the guys, I loved how strong these guys are and always act as one family. Loved it all woo hoo new members to the family now bring on the next :)
Closer still to the weddings, Dane and Abel discuss the possibility of connecting with their parents. At the same time Cole closes off any discussion of his past or his family. Meanwhile, Darius reveals to Max that they have family besides their father. But he warns "they are bad people" and not to let them know of his existence or of his new "family." How are Dane and Abel to work out what to do? Should they take action, and what should it be?
