Pete, the yellow toy elephant and his friend Murphy the Lizard are the two main characters in this book that young readers (and those having the pleasure to read the story to their children) will be delighted to meet. The text immediately grabs the reader's attention and flows effortlessly from one imagery to another, interspersed with adorable illustrations and a simple philosophy: there is beauty in our world that anyone can appreciate or that can be shared and enjoyed in the company of a good friend. I will make sure to recommend the book to other parents.

What a cool story of how an elephant and a lizard becomes friends.
I liked this story of diversity of small and high animals becoming the best of friends and being able to find a common fun thing to do together.
I think anyone who finds a need for friends and learning what Pete and the lizard found in each other would be great or just loves to read. very good short animal story would be super.

This is a great book for children over a wide age range.
I particularly liked the way the author used her imagination to remind us of the important things in life, like jumping on crunchy autumn leaves and running through long grass.
This would make a great book for children starting out on chapter books.
The lesson of how important friendships are is invaluable and will be appreciated by parents and children a like.

This is a charming book with sweet illustrations that bring the story to life.
I really enjoyed meeting Pete the elephant. He is an endearing character, and I really enjoyed reading about him making a new friend. My son loved the story as he adores elephants.
This is a delightful and original storyline, which is sure to capture the imagination of children.
