Tempting #2

Chasing Brynn

Rate this book
Witty and blunt blogger, Brynn Harper, has a knack for incredible sex. As a graduate student studying to be a sex therapist, Brynn’s heard her fair share of intimate horror stories. Starting an anonymous blog offering naughty advice changes her life. When a competitor tries to "out-blog" her with equally risqué posts from a male perspective, Brynn vows to shut him down.

But as she gets to know the mystery man on the other side of the keyboard, her interest piques. Smart and funny, the man might be able to charm her pants off—if she ever meets him in person. Brynn’s not interested in relationships though, which is exactly what she keeps telling sexy, confident, and persistent law student, Cade Brett, her walking fantasy with a fondness for handcuffs. She can’t get him out of her mind, but he won’t give her what she wants—unless she agrees to date him first.

Torn between the alpha mystery man, and the infuriatingly enticing Cade, commitment-phobic Brynn is in over her head. But one of them could be the love of her life if Brynn can relinquish control and give in to her heart.

As a child, Angela Corbett’s most prized possession was a set of read-along books. She used to follow along with the narrator and dream of when she would be able to read by herself. Her childhood reading habit led her to consider her future career. However, after consulting with her parents, she realized she had already exceeded hobbit height and since fairies and dragonslayers were tricky jobs to get, she decided she wanted to create worlds of her own.

Angela is a USA Today Bestselling author, and a graduate of Westminster College where she double majored in communication and sociology and minored in business. She has worked as a journalist, freelance writer, and director of communications and marketing. She lives in Utah with her extremely supportive husband and their dog, S'more. She loves classic cars, traveling, puppies, and can be bribed with The People's Coffee mochas.

She’s the author of Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult fiction—with lots of kissing. She writes under two names: Angela Corbett, and Destiny Ford.

I started my blog January of this year. I had been planning to do this but never really gotten the chance to do it. There were a lot of things that got in the way which were more pressing. And I am thankful that I am now able to do this. Reading books has always been my way of de-stressing. When real life seems to be so difficult and frustrating that it pulls me apart from different directions, books have kept me sane. Now, blogging serves as an outlet for me to sort of vent out my thoughts and feelings, especially when no one seems to care about my opinions or how I feel. At least, here I can say what I want or feel. Like thinking out loud.

Blogging is a subject in Chasing Brynn by Angela Corbett. Brynn, the main character in the story is a Psychology Major whose focus of study is sex. She wants to become a sex therapist. After hearing two girls talking about guys and body parts in a coffee shop, Brynn came up with an idea to write a blog. Not just any blog, but one giving advice on sex and all things relating to it. The blog is such a hit that people are curious and are starting to speculate as to who is behind it.

This book talks about sex and I am surprised that I was not in any way uncomfortable or scandalized at all. I think it was because it was written in a way of an advice. It felt like reading a sex advice column in a high-end magazine. It also helped that Brynn, the one giving the advice is an expert on the subject, both in academics and experience. I guess, it came out a lot like sex education in a more individualized way. A little less embarrassing compared to a lecture in a classroom or in an auditorium. The best thing is being able to ask questions and stay anonymous.

The book also talked about finding a person who loves you for everything that you are. Not for what you can do in bed. Someone who would want you not for your looks but the whole you, with all your strengths and insecurities. It may seem fun to engage in meaningless sex but it is way greater if it is done out of love and with the person you trust with your heart.

I give the book 4/5 stars.

Fear is nothing but deprivation that holds you paralyzed. No one should be chained there.

This book just blew me away! Talk about your role reversals - Cade is a complete alpha in-charge, but not afraid to take unusual steps to make his point to Brynn. Brynn is far from your typical book heroine, but still she shows an amazing depth and vulnerability despite her best efforts. This story takes the reader on quite a wild ride, including interfering friends, competing advice blogs, dirty talk guaranteed to make panties remove themselves, and more sexual tension than a night at a strip club! Cade's determination elevates him beyond swoon-worthy all the way to Brynn-worthy! This writing is so captivating, so genuine, it just draws you in right from the start. Absolutely brilliant - a great book that I highly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Cute story with some deeper issues

Brynn is a psychology grad student that doesn't believe in relationships but does believe in exploring her sexuality. When she meets Cade, he won't allow her to limit their time to the superficial. To get closer physically, they have to get closer emotionally, despite her fears.

Chasing Brynn

I chose this story and gave it 5 stars because I wish I was more like Brynn and had a man like Cade. But I never met a man who made me feel safe. Kit Ryan

Sincerely charming, with an insane amount of addicting romance. I adore the sparks that ignite between Brynn and Cade, and you will fall in love with this power couple who are unknowingly entwined in some very hot and sexy scenes! Brynn has the perfect amount of sassy-ness and integrity that sets her apart from the most honorable of women and Cade’s panty melting stamina is ‘icing’ on the cake!! Characters are perfectly matched and readers will not only find themselves engrossed in the book, but the story as well, with a new dedication and loyalty for this talented author.

Corbett’s books always seem to have the perfect amount of entertainment and passion blended with just enough sex to make me want more. This genre can be difficult to enjoy due to missed details in erotica and absurdity in the romance, however Corbett has once again successfully captured this sweet and hot love story while keeping it going from start to finish. This novel has quickly become a front-runner in my romance collection and will continue to be enjoyed like a sinful piece of ‘better than sex’ chocolate cake!

Another great addition to this series! If you read Tempting Sydney you will love Chasing Brynn. Angela has a way of making the characters so real you feel like they are people you know. Her writing makes it an extremely easy read and you don't want to put it down. I have a hard time starting her books because I know I will not have the time to finish it in one sitting.
I am already awaiting the next in this series as well as several other series she is writing. Anything she writes I will definitely read. If romance novels are your thing start with this series, but be sure to read all her series as I have yet to not be immediately hooked by her writing style.

So good!

You did it again! I loved this story it feel like so many people struggle with the same problems the characters do. People's past shape them weather it's for good or bad. We all have our own struggles and issues and hopefully we all find someone that will help us see past them, be it a partner or a best friend. I loved this book and I can't wait for Courtney's story!
