My friends said fuck you it's just a book a book you wrote and I said no this is me bleeding through pages like the trees they used to be bled a dark sap that turned to ink with which I wrote my soul.
With his début poetry book Black Canvas, Fernando Pfaltzgraff has created a poetry anthology that reminded me of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in their depressive phase; even nowadays there can be occasional beauty in bluntness. While reading, I heard Leonard Cohen singing Suzanne in my mind - this carried me from one poem to the next. My favourite poem in Fernando Paltzgraff's book is Howling Wind.
This is a book for you if you read poetry that does not embellish, and shows the author's point-blank thoughts.
