When Ally Mosconi's father trades her in to his mysterious Mafia boss to pay a debt, Ally knows her life has changed forever. The man she calls Mr. Red is domineering, demanding, and utterly ruthless. She knows she needs to break free—but with her father's life in the balance, what can she do to challenge Mr. Red's control? And as she falls deeper under his spell, she begins to question exactly how much she wants to escape.
Mr. Red by Amber Morgan, this story ...what can I say… I was truly on the fence about this story. Is the writing good, yes, yes it is. Is the story itself something that I would want more of, thinking maybe not. This story straddles the line of sorta romantic and sorta Stockholm syndrome. This is a rough read not for a cute fuzzy romance reader more for the one that wants to be just a tad off kilter when they read a story. Allegra, Ally as she will tell you. She knows her father has some dangerous friends. Mr. Red is one of them. She knew women were better seen but not heard well according to her father but she is a rebellious one. She stumbles on to Mr. Red killing her father and that changes her life forever. She is used to being smacked around by her dad. She doesn't know he also sold her to cover a debt. Mr. Red lives in luxury. He expects Ally to follow his rules. In turn he will make her life better. Mr. Red is very gangsterly. He is secretive and gentle with Ally. Can she learn to love him? Dubious to say the least on the consent in this book. Really was not sure if I actually liked this story or not. Has some heat to it, but I am a romantic so this book is not for a romantic at heart. This is the kind of book that keeps you on edge and guess who are the bad guys and who are the good guys. Sometimes it is just plain good to be bad.
This is a story of forced seduction. The heroine is sold to Mr. Red as a payment for wrong doing, but sex is not forced.
I really enjoyed the story. Mr. Red has they type of personality and dominance that hits all the right buttons for me. I devoured this story in one sitting and was disappointed when it ended, rather abruptly. Aside from the too quick ending the flow and editing were great.
Very well done and I will definitely be looking into more of Amber Morgan's writing....I'm just hoping there are more Mr. Red personalities in her mind's closet!
I'm fast becoming a big fan of this author. Mr. Red was an amazing read which had me on the edge of my seat, and falling in love with the hero right along with the heroine. If you love your heroes dark, dangerous, and dominant, this is the read for you
