“THERE IS NO RANDOMNESS ABOUT YOUR LIFE”: A Journey of Faith, Hope, Love and Strength

Rate this book
In April of 2014 Libby Auers’ husband Loren was diagnosed with cancer. At the beginning of his battle with the disease his neuro-oncologist suggested that Libby keep a journal of their experiences as they walk through his illness and hopeful recovery. After much thought and prayer she felt inspired by God and with support from her husband she began her daily journal. Through this venue she would share the many trials, the victories, the defeats and emotions they were about to face together as well as sharing their faith and love for HIM. Although sharing her journaling was uncomfortable in the beginning, encouragement of those who would read her posts continued to give both of them strength for their difficult times. Her hope is through sharing their journey, others will know there is joy and hope to be found, even in the darkest of times.

This book brought back many memories for me, of our own family as we walked a similar journey nearly 15 years ago with my mother.

The book is a collection of reflections of one woman's year-long journey through her beloved husband's battle with a devastating disease. The reflections offer a glimpse into her soul. Although the story is painful to read at times, it is deeply reflective. It perfectly captures the beauty of the suffering, anger, grace, and even the joy experienced through such a journey. The reflections are a testament to how perfectly vulnerable we are as His children, and to how truly deeply we love one another. But most of all, to how deeply God loves and cherishes us, especially at our most vulnerable. While the reflections are painful, they are also inspirational and hopeful.
