Went out looking for Squirrel Girl - and found the Scarlet Witch. Pure coincidence. I don' t know about her other adventures, but I really liked this episode. Set in Kyoto, the comic contains a lot of landmarks, including the International Manga Museum! The story itself is okay - but the imagery is very beautiful. Strictly recommended for people who like foxes - there is even a fox haiku included.

Look at the little fox in the snow 😭😭😭

With dark panels of a traditionally questionably looking man you'd expect to hear his not that morally nice desires but then as he names them you get that he's the good guy if you will

Wanda in her red winter coat walking around again😭
"I hate mysteries. I hate not knowing something I need to. It makes me... Uneasy... And that scares the hell out of me. [...] And even though we'd never !eat, I still felt his death from across the planet-- it was like a part of was being torn to pieces." So I'm guessing that witches have a connection between them especially when there's magical heritage involved, also if she said this about a man she didn't personally know can you imagine what she felt when Pietro died I mean they're not under best condition right now (but even so she'd still be devastated)

She's so pretty, little red nose from the cold😭

"But he was a difficult man to read, ms maximoff.
It's something I'm realizing about myself, inspector Hokkaido. Witches and warlocks-- magicians in general-- we all have our walls and veils." Look at her sitttting *heart eyes*

I'm going to guess that the one who would take over after him is the one that killed him

"Noriko, my darling... Not a day goes by when-- garbage. Food there. Can smell food." Lol instincts yall

"My old foe-- wind. Cold. I burrow-- no, too soon... I am losing myself." So we have reincarnation here but the person you were before slowly fades into what your new host is?

Dr strange and Wong as his manservant to assist him mention

"...Or your abilities are exaggerated.
Perhaps they are." And the resolution was holy water

" And so my time here in Kyoto ends. The aoi master's murder didn't just call to me, it called me away from visiting my homeland as I'd planned. Perhaps I should de a little thankful, I'm still sacred of what I'll find there. But witchcraft's sickness and the cure-- they both await me in eastern Europe, I'm more certain with every passing minute. And with every passing minute I merely delay the inevitable. So I must go."

I live how Wanda could be fighting all kinds of terrible creatures and dangers but she's always so zen and calm and composed, unfazed almost and has a plan even when you'd think it's gonna be tough for her to get out of an ugly situation

Why do I feel the next issue is going to have something to do with magneto by the cover alone? And perhaps Wanda being somehow manipulated by him? Cause she's shown on metal gears? We'll see

It was cool to see this murder mystery in a different culture and to experience the knowledge of Wanda to fight an Oni with a clever way but it felt like a short story instead of real piece of the story that is finding more about her mother.

Like a side-quest but in Japan to make it look cool

this is why I love this comic so much! it has an amazing storyline and it's full of surprises. Wanda is really smart and gorgeous in this art. and the rhetoric of the fox as a newborn soul is just brilliant! can't wait for the next one!

I liked the changing voice of the Aoi master and the fox in this issue -- the tie to the haiku in the opening was a good frame. But these monster-of-the-week issues feel like procrastinating the main thrust of the series, even if they are very enjoyable. I wish the run were either one or the other.
