After escaping from the button-down life he never wanted, Caden Jackson is finally free. But freedom comes with a price, and the price Caden paid was the woman he loved. Emma Baylee has loved Caden all her life, but his choices have left her vulnerable and alone. Now, desperate for help finding her missing friend, Emma must suppress her feelings and return to the man she’s always loved. Betrayals are exposed as truths come to light. Will Caden and Emma be able to rekindle their relationship? Or, in the end, will Caden’s choices separate them forever?
Please note: This book is intended for mature audiences.
edit biographydelete Biography Amy Cecil is an award-winning Indie author of both historical and contemporary romance. Her penchant for Austen fan fiction, won her the title of Favorite Historical Romance Author (2016-2017) while her MC series has won several awards throughout the Indie community. Recently, she has expanded her repertoire to the thriller and erotic genres.
For as long as she can remember, Amy always had a book (or two) that she was reading for the love of getting lost within its pages. Amy has been heard to have said, “I’ve never given much thought to becoming a writer myself until I realized that if I hadn’t written my own version of Mr. Darcy, I might have run out of material to read.”
And thus, her first novel was born, A Royal Disposition. In the words of Miss Austen herself, “I wish as well as everybody else to be perfectly happy; but, like everybody else, it must be in my own way.” Ms. Cecil writes to do just that.
She lives in North Carolina with her husband, Kevin, and their four dogs. When she isn’t creating her next masterpiece, or traveling the country for book signings, she enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and of course her fur babies.
“Face life as you find it-defiantly and unafraid.” -Nietzsche
"Ice" is a back-to-back drama slam of a novel. From the conflicted romantic relationship between the two leads to the brewing war between the two motorcycle gangs, there is always something to keep the reader going and a lull is non-existent in this text.
However, where the book provided a constant suspense, it sacrificed good writing, specifically in three areas: plot development, dialogue, and character believably. Generally speaking, I'll say that the concept itself was good but, for me, the execution is where everything fell apart.
First, I'll start by saying that if you're a fan of the "Sons of Anarchy" television series, this book will warm your fan heart. Not only does the series focus on MCs and the biker lifestyles but it has several striking similarities to the television series, an observation that made me doubt the originality. Nonetheless, the novel was a nice pick-me-up from the series ending.
What first started my negative criticism of the novel was the changing tenses. Eventually, the author did get a hold on it, deciding to write in the present tense. Usually, I'm not a fan of the present tense but a few novels have dragged me in despite it. This novel was not one of them. The present tense only added to the inauthentic characters which were created from horribly written dialogue. In everyday speech, people use contractions more often than not. Full words and sentences are reserved for serious moments but contractions were a rarity in the character dialogue, making them sound more robotic and fake.
Instead of the author writing. "I'm sad," she'd write "I am sad." Considering those two which option seems more natural to you?
Now the plot. Everything was happening so back-to-back with no foundation (the prologue did not help with character or plot development) it seemed too convenient for me as a reader. Fast paced novels have their place but this novel wasn't so much fast paced as it was a bombardment.
There was actually a prologue in the book that I thought it was unnecessary and could have been slowly fed to the reader throughout the length of the novel instead. But looking at the male lead in the prologue and who he became the development made no sense.
Honestly this is not my best written review (because I just want to be done with this book) and I know it's going on too long so, I'm going to wrap it up with this. I was so excited when I bought this book and couldn't wait to dive all in but I definitely set my expectations too high. I thought I was getting a great MC novel with drama, some romance and the like but instead I feel like what I got was the sporadic teenage fantasies of a fangirl. Not all fan fiction is bad but this novel is an example of a low-quality fan fiction.
wholly hotness! i love these kinds of books! you rocked this book! cant wait to read more of your books in the near future! i hope karma gets her ex in the end he is one mean person!
Loved the book!!! Caden joins MC club in his town after his parents died and eventually becomes the President and is known as Ice. He is in love with his childhood friend Emma, but wants to keep her away from the Club until she comes to him for help to find her friend. This story has twists and turns that you don't see coming. The story kept my interest all the way through, now I can't wait for the next book to continue the story.
I was hooked from the back story in the prolog. I couldn't put the book down. For two days with maybe 4 hours of sleep I was glued to this book. The love story is strong and emotional. The twists that they face make your heart stop. I felt for every character not just the main two. I wanted to play match maker within the MC. I felt their pain, their joy, and their love. I can't wait until Ice on Fire releases.
ICE by Amy Cecil is a fast, fun read full of leather, tats, and sizzling sex; what more can you ask for? Well, besides an HEA. This one ended on a cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to the next when hopefully the bad guy will get what he deserves. Thanks for the fun read, Amy!
OMG! I just loved this book! Great MC story!! Caden is my new book boyfriend! Can't wait until the next book in this series is released... I must have more!! Definitely recommend this book!!
Wow! A terrific story. I loved how the story introduced us to Caden and Emma with their early years, showing how strong their relationship had developed. As time had passed, Caden joins an MC, his road name becomes Ice and eventually he becomes the mighty President. But he never forgot his childhood friend Emma, he was in love with her and it wasn’t right, she was too young, he thinks of her occasionally but would never ask her to the club....until she finds him herself and asks for help to find her friend. This a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and with it’s surprise twists and turns you never know what to expect next. A really exciting read and I’m jonesing for the next exciting instalment, I can’t wait!
Caden Jackson never wanted the life he was born into, but it's not like you can choose your parents is it? Caden has an easy life, but easy doesn't always mean happy. He lives with his Mother, Father, and little sister Ari.
Emma Baylee has loved Caden for as long as she can remember, but as life often goes Caden has grown up and grown away from her. Now Caden's parents have died in an accident and he has made some choices that have not made a lick of sense to Emma. So what's a girl to do? Well get on with her life that's what.
Now they are both adults. Caden is no longer just Caden he's, Ice president of the Knights of Silence MC and Emma is engaged to Mark. One day Emma shows up at the compound looking for Caden. Her best friend is missing and she needs Ice's help to find her because Mark won't help her. What looks like a simple case of finding a missing girl will bring horrible crimes and truths to light. Truths that could kill if one isn't careful enough.
Will Caden and Emma be able to rekindle that special love they once held for eachother or is the truth a bitter pill that needs to be swallowed whole? Will Emma be able to handle Ice being who he is now or will she long for the innocence of childhood they once shared?
Amy Cecil writes an Knights of Silence MC book that will make you long for the open road and the wind in your hair. This is an exciting series that you will sink your teeth into and forget to come up for air. This book is absolutely fantastic. The minute I started reading I knew I found a home in Ms. Cecil's books and didn't realize that I spent the whole day reading until it was dinnertime.
This book begins with 6-year-old Emma and 16 year old Caden. despite their ages, the 2 are best friends and extremely close (something I found extremely hard to believe). At age 24, Caden’s parents die in a car accident leaving him completely broke and the guardian of his 12-year-old sister. He immediately quits college and desperate for work, ends up working for a repair shop owned by the Knights Of Silence MC. Fast forward a few years and Caden is now, “Ice”, the club’s President. Caden loves life in the MC, his only regret is the way he treated Emma, intentionally distancing himself from her. Then Emma shows up at his doorstep, 11 years later, asking for his help...
Unfortunately, I struggled with this book. The synopsis and premise are interesting yet the execution was problematic. Basically, this book was too wordy. For example, the prologue spans over 40 years comprising the longest prologue I’ve ever read! I was actually shocked when I flipped the page to discover that I was just beginning chapter 1! There were also times when things were repeated unnecessarily like the laptop scene first told from Emma’s point of view then again from Caden’s. The opposite is also true as occasionally some topics are completely glossed over or omitted (for example, after the prologue we don’t hear anything about Caden‘s sister). Much of the storyline was coincidental, convenient and predictable unfortunately resulting in my feeling very bored.....
Blurb: After escaping from the button-down life he never wanted, Caden Jackson is finally free.
Ice is the first installment in the MC series Knights of Silence. You are first introduced to her main characters as children, Emma Baylee and Caden Jackson. Caden Jackson is like the older protective brother to Emma but he feel so much more than that to her. He has always been her protector even though he was so much older than her and could never focus or explain these things to a young girl. When tragedy strikes and Caden loses his parents, he is thrust into the role of parent for his younger sister Ari when he is only just a young twenty something, just starting out on his own. A young guardian willing to do just about anything to keep things together for his sister and this is how he becomes part of Knights of Silence, everything that Emma has ever been scared of. He looks for a job to keep his family together and gets hired on by Ace, the current Prez at the Knights of Silence, where Caden finds kindness and solace with those around him. Years later it is Emma who comes to The Knights of Silence MC Clubhouse looking for Caden. Who she finds is not the man she remembers as being the man she loved growing up. Before her is ICE, leader and President of this MC. He is still the only man who can help her find her friend who as disappeared into the arms of a rival MC. Can Emma reconcile the changes in the man they now call ICE? Is he still the man she loves? Does Caden still even feel the same way about her? Will they be able to overcome differences and come back to each other?
This was my first time reading a book by this author. I was hesitant at the beginning to tell you the truth. It seemed rigid and hard to absorb. The flow was not as smooth as I am used to reading. This did not sway me from finishing. I am most grateful I read til the end. The relationship between Emma and Caden/Ice is not so cut and dry. They lost contact for so many years and then found their way back again, but not by pleasant circumstances. Emma sought out Ice, needing assistance. What she didn't bargain for was engrossing and absorbing his way of life in the way of M/C living. Not to mention, the potential risks and dangers associated with 1%ers. Don't get me wrong, this book is not too dark. When Ice involves the club to aid Emma, secrets are slowly revealed I was left shaking my head not believing the twists involved. Warning: this book is a cliff-hanger. I really enjoy the dynamic relationship and love between Emma and Ice. It is that strong love that allows each other to compromise their rules and norms. I am diving into book 2 very shortly!
Gahhhhh I've never been a fan of cliffhangers and usually won't read them but until the last page I didn't know this was one. Now that being said I loved loved this story so I'm glad I read, now I need the next one soon :) I picked up this story and hardly put it down because it had me hooked. Ice and Emma grew up together, Ice was a few years older then Emma and he was always her protector. Then a time came when he knew he was a teenager and couldn't be around Emma as much. His father had plans for him, he was making him work at his office when he was just sixteen. Although Ice wanted no part of it he had no choice, his father had made up his mind. By the time he could get away from his father, he had distanced himself from Emma. He got away from home and then his parents died and he was left with his younger sister. Lost and alone and not knowing what to you he met up with Ace of the Knights of Silence MC, he became like a father to him and also took Ari his sister in as well. Well he found the life he knew he always wanted and years later had Emma knocking on his door. How does he deal with this, he has always loved this girl. So what does she want? He needs to find out...
Well that ended on a cliffhanger but I am thinking that honey is the rat because she can't have Ice any more a wonen scorned and all that jazz is what I'm thinking 🤔 book 2 he ere we go
What a fab story, I couldn't read it fast enough it had me hooked from page 1, Emma has loved Caden from the moment she could toddle around, he'd always been there for her, her protector, that is, until he was older and started to have feelings for her, feelings he shouldn't be having, so he does everything he can to push her away and make her hate him. He succeeds. Now, five years later, she turns up needing his help, his life has changed and he's the Prez of an MC, Caden doesn't exist, it's Ice now, but his feelings and hers are still there.
Can Cade, (Emma still calls him that, she's the only one who does,) and the MC help, is there more to it than there seems, you can bet your life on it.
I don't normally like reading books with cliff hangers, and I never saw that end coming, what a twist that was, it totally blew me away, and I can't wait to continue the story in book two, Ice On Fire.
I received a readers copy and voluntarily leave my own honest opinion.
ICE by Amy Cecil is a motorcycle club romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Mark Bravo and Maya Bravo. This is book one in the Knights of Silence MC Series and does end on a cliffhanger.
This is the second book of Amy’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I cannot wait to dive into Ice on Fire to find out what happens next.
Mark and Maya did a great job on the narration. I can’t wait to listen to more of their projects in the future.
2.5 Stars Ice by Amy Cecil The prologue starts off with a young 16 year old Caden Jackson and his strange friendship, with the 10 year old Emma. When Caden’s life takes a turn in a different direction, he has to leave Emma behind. Years later when their paths cross again, Caden is no longer the young boy that Emma remembers; he is now the President of the MC Club. When Emma’s friend Baylee disappears, she turns to Caden and his club for help to find her. Emma finance’ is not happy with her decision. The plot thickens and plenty of betrayals are exposed. Can Caden and Emma rekindle their relationships? This book ends on a cliff hanger. Overall I enjoyed the story, it was jammed packed with plot twists and rising climax. At times I was annoyed with Emma as she seemed to cry for everything and acted like a young adolescent instead of a grown woman. The story provided plenty of suspense but the execution was lacking. The dialogue between the characters was very limited which also took away from character development. Ms Cecil has huge potential and for a new author I thought she did really well. ICE Series: Knights of Silence MC Series, Book 1 By: Amy Cecil Narrated by: Mark Bravo, Maya Bravo
This is a fantastic book and beginning to a new series. I enjoyed Amy Cecil’s writing style and the interesting storylines and characters she created. The story had a natural flow to it and it grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored the two lead characters Caden “Ice” Jackson and Emma Baylee, they have history but an event in Caden’s life took him away from her and they went on different paths. We get insight of Caden’s path into the Knights of Silence MC. Emma and Caden never kept in touch but years later she seeks him out asking him to help find her friend Brianne. Caden helps her, has her stay at the Club for her protection. The two realize they still harbor feelings for each other but she is engaged and knows nothing of club life or fitting into it. I loved how everything plays out in this book, there is never a dull moment and it is greatly plotted with plenty of drama, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt moments, some angst and a mind blowing twist which leaves you hanging on a cliff. Amy Cecil, thank you for this great MC romance and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Mark Bravo and Maya Bravo are terrific narrators and voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to their work. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review...I am going to be honest I like MC books but I like to read the whole romance genre, that said I was excited when I saw this MC series and read the reviews so I am thinking I was going to get a great book, I didn't feel that tobe honest I almost didn't even want to continue but I trudged on again got to say it wasn't great. So Caden is a rich kid and he becomes friends with the little girl next door Emma, his father keeps telling him that he needs to break that relationship up because Caden is 6 years older than her and it wasn't cool. Anyhoo he does start to develop feelings for her knowing that it wasn't good and supposedly also confused him and he didn't know how to deal with it, so he does what another asinine men would do he hurts her feelings and hurts her to the point where she wont look back. See this is where I think (well one) is ridiculous I get he wanted her to continue with her life away from him, yet he claims that he loves her will always love her, yet he doesn't go looking for her? how the hell is she going to be waiting for you idiot? And here 11 years later after you slept with all these other woman have one that you weren't sure you would make into your 'old lady' you are jealous and upset that Emma is engaged? And that the only reason she came to you was because she needed help and you were upset? I don't get that ridiculous reasoning. The only reason I continued is because I am nosy ok and I cheated I went to the end, and the end made me continue- I know I am the idiot.
I read this story in the set that had both book one and two. I know I say WOW a lot, but I there are so many authors that blow me away. This is another author that blew me away with her story. I am so in love with these characters. Plus I just love MC books. I have been on a huge MC kick here lately.
I loved that fact the author started out telling where it begin with Caden and Emma. Seemed like such and innocent thing back then and we get to see what their home life was like as well.
Cade had a lot on his plate. Though his mother was a sweet woman his father was so cold hearted. Cade’s father wanted him to grow up so fast. I felt like he pretty much was trying to rob him of his childhood. His father had a way of making him feel bad about himself.
Emma’s life was not much better. I had to wonder how much her parents really loved her. It was like they did not want to be parents. Emma was lucky though to have a nanny that cared for her.
I can not imagine what it was like for Cade to take on so much responsibility. He was a young man doing his best.
I bet Cade was shock to find Emma at his club door step. His dream girl that he pushed away. Now she needed him and I loved how he was so willing to protect her.
At first I was wondering if I would like Honey but as the book went on I really became to like her. I hope to see a future book with her.
There is danger everywhere and lives are on the line. There are a few twist in this book and surprises good and bad along the way. Truly loved the story.
From the moment their eyes met love was stuck, him being a young boy and her an infant what will the future hold. As the two grew up Caden took her under his wings and held her and played at the park with her. Emma grew up with Caden and knew she was going to marry him one day. With a big age difference things were getting complicated for Caden and feelings were starting to take an unnatural effect in his heart. He was always being belittled by his father and never understood why. He tried with all his might to let her go, and as Emma would cry he could never do it. Until his parents were killed in an accident that changed his life forever. Caden also had a younger sister Ari who at 24 had to take her in and finding out his father left them nothing they lost everything. While trying to find a job the fascination with motorcycles came to fold. He had seen a NOW HIRING sign in the window of the mechanic shop and once he introduced himself is life was changed forever. Emma was still trying to come around. As time and years past by Caden continues to learn and eventually Prospects for the club. One day Emma arrives and finds him with another woman and that’s the end of the BFF’s. She leaves for college and 11 years later through heartache and tears she has to come back into Caden life. And once again when theirs eyes meet the feelings for each other come back TEN FOLD. Grab your copy and find out what the end result will be you will be shocked.
Ice: Knights of Silence MC #1 by Amy Cecil is the first of a new MC series. Amy Cecil is a new novelist for me as well. Knights of Silence MC is located in a small town in New York. They are one percenters who have no problem defending their family and territory from other MCs.
Ice is the president of the Knights of Silence. His early history and how he found the Knights of Silence is explained in the beginning of the story. This beginning allows the reader to be invested into the story and the characters of Caden and Emma.
Caden, Ice becomes a member of the Knights of Silence and eventually becomes President. Emma moves on to college and starts her own small company with their social presence. She has a best friend, her family and a fiance. Until one day her best friend disappears and she turns to Ice for help. All those old feelings come back and suddenly it is love, but more information comes out and suddenly Caden realizes that he is in a war with someone.
I didn’t realize the book would end in a cliffhanger (not my favorite thing), but the second book has been published so it is easier to read both stories together. I enjoyed the story and the characters. I am going to read more of this series. Ice: Knights of Silence MC #1 by Amy Cecil was a hot, biker read.
Amy Cecil was a new author to me when I listened to Ripper and I fell in love with her writing. When I saw this book, I jumped to the chance to listen. Romance, intrigue, suspense, childhood romance, all the things I love and she wraps it all into a motorcycle club story! Caden and Emma grew up together. Though an age difference and class difference, these two had a connection that couldn’t be broken. Now years later, Emma finds herself in need of Caden’s help only to find the connection still strong and there is danger lurking. Are they soulmates? Will Emma find her life in an MC? I love childhood loves coming back together. The history is always integral to their lives despite their current situation. Caden is the ultimate alpha male, protector and strong, his life has taken a turn that was not the path we thought he would take. I love his personality, and his loyalty. He loves with his whole heart. Emma is young at times, but finds her strength with Caden. Now the twist at the end left me just wanting more and Amy better be releasing book two soon!
The narration was amazing. I have never heard Mark and Maya Bravo befire snd thrur voiced hit the characters perfectly. Mark is string and powerful with his narration. Maya has a youthful voice and makes Emma naive in the beginning. She lets us hear Emma evolve as they story progresses. I really enjoyed their performance.
This was an MC book but started with the relationship between Cade and Emma. When they were young, they were best friends even though there was a significant age difference between them. Family issues tore them apart and they didn't see each other again until years later when Emma needed Cade's help. Cade was now president of an MC and of course, wanted to help her. There were a few twists that were interesting and the underlying story was well done and kept my attention.
There were a couple of things that detracted from the story. First, the dialogue seemed a bit childish, especially for people in their 30s. Emma especially seems so juvenile. Ice isn’t very nice and honestly, for someone who expected Emma to wait for him, to eventually be his and then for him to expect her to be ok when he was being intimately serviced by someone else in front of her accidentally is just unbelievable. Their relationship gets better but first impressions left a really sour impression.
I bought the ebook but was given the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. I've never listened to Mark and Maya Bravo narrate before. The narration was ok- both tried to differentiate their voices for the male and female voices but they were a little jarring and not realistic. 🎧AudiobookObsessionReviewer, AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Awesome second chance romance with GRIT & suspense galore! A HOT MUST-BUY! Life was never easy, but Caden Jackson has always tried to do what is right, even if it cost him his true love. From early childhood, Caden always did his best to protect Emma, and then as he grew older and his feeling towards her changed, he knew he had to protect her from himself, so he left her in a way that would make sure she would not follow. Yet, years later when Emma needs help and her life is endangered, will Cade step in to protect her? Will his MC persona “Ice” be something Emma can accept? All of this is revealed, and so much more in this first part of the KNIGHTS OF SILENCE series by Amy Cecil. Her writing is easy-going and descriptive, the characters are remarkably realistic and forgivable, and the plot is complex as well as compelling. I voluntarily read an ARC copy of “ICE” and this is my 4 ½ STAR review. “ICE” has earned all of the 5 stars with its smooth prose, charismatic characters, and twisty but compelling plot, but because this is a novella and it has a cliff! However, the story is still one of the BEST MC tales I’ve read lately, so I must STRONGLY suggest you purchase your copy of “ICE,” today! Happy pages! 😉
ICE is a second chance, motorcycle club romance where we first meet Caden and Emma as childhood friends, only to discover how their relationship drifts apart due to an age gap and tragic event. Destiny has them crossing paths again when Emma has nowhere else to turn, and reaches out to Caden who is now “Ice,” the president of the Knights of Silence MC club. It’s obvious that Ice is very alpha and still smitten with Emma, doing anything he can to help/protect her. Emma on the other hand, is a bit more naïve to how things work in Ice’s life now, allowing her immaturity to show in ways. I really enjoyed how these two reconnect as the plot unfolds with the added suspense of a rival MC club, leading to a discovery of deceit and revenge that no one saw coming. And then that cliffhanger! You’ll just need to jump into book two to see what happens.
Listened on audio: Mark and Maya Bravo were the perfect pair of narrators to bring this story to life. Maya has a very girlish voice and portrayed the innocence and inexperience of Emma flawlessly, while Mark stole the show with his spectacular performance of Ice—portraying a strong, dominant, growly alpha that one comes to expect with a MC president.
Caden a young boy that has so much and then one day loses everything when his parents die in a car accident. He's a young twenty-one year old who now has to care for his little sister and provide for her. He finds that his father has made some bad investments and now he and his sister have nothing. Emma, a young girl who is Caden's neighbor. They are inseparable while Emma is young and growing up. Caden's father tries to discourage their friendship and tells Caden that his feelings will change and their friendship will be different as Emma gets older, but he doesn't understand yet. More than their feelings for each other change. With Caden's sudden need to provide for his sister, he has to look for a job. Caden and Emma's lives will come back together and their relationship as adults will be different than it was as kids. They're no longer kids and there is now danger lurking around that can destroy them.I liked this book. I'm now waiting for the second one to come out s that I can find out how their lives will be. This story has some twists and suspense and the ending leaves you hoping that the next book will be along soon so that you can find out what's going to happen. I give this story a 3.5 star review and look forward to the other book(s) in the series to be out.
Caden & Emma: TRIGGERS: assault, domestic abuse, sexual assault, drugs, kidnapping. Story is very slow in the beginning as the author moves through the lifeline and friendship of Caden and Emma. Probably about half the book is a backstory for how Caden becomes Ice and the president of the MC and how Caden and Emma's friendship grew and fell apart from when she was five years old. Once the story hits the present day, it becomes a little more interesting but not by much. Emma's best friend has gone missing and get boyfriend won't help look for her. So Emma braves MC and asks Ice for help, all while passing judgment on the club and its members. Emma is a little naive and Caden calls her on it. He agrees to help but she must stay at the club with his brothers. Once the author got to this part of the story, it got so much better and flowed a lot faster. There's so much drama to unfold and a nice little plot twist. I enjoyed the last half of the book but it took a lot for me to even get to that point so I'll have to rate this book low. I would suggest the author edit down the stories she writes and get to the meat of the book faster. Not many will try to weed through all that unnecessary nonsense in the beginning.
