"I will never forgive you. I will kill you. I will continue to kill you until all your Burst Points are gone and you vanish from the accelerated world." Having turned into Chrome Disaster once more, Haruyuki slaughters with the force of a vengeful god the avatars who made Ash Roller suffer. And then he fuses completely with the Armor of Catastrophe, down to his deepest depths. Silver Crow soars above the accelerated world, seeking out enemies to destroy. For his next target, he turns the spearhead of his hatred toward the creators of the ISS kit, the Acceleration Research Society. A berserker no one can control. Before this raging figure, a long avatar stands to block his way. His name: Green Grandé. The absolute defense of the Green King, bearer of the most powerful shield, the Strife, collides fiercely with the madness of the cursed avatar! The conclusion to the Armor of Catastrophe arc!
Volume 9 finally closes the Enchanted Armament, the Ark of Catastrophe, the Disaster and it was 95% awesome. Im glad this multi volume arc lasted this long as we not only received rich lush backstory, but epic worldbuilding including the origin of the Accel World, how it was like in its early days, its predecessors, and its central server. Beyond that we also received much needed interaction with Green Grande, the Acceleration Research Society, and previous Nega Nebulous members. Overall, it was an arc that delivered awesomely.
For this volume, it surprised me with how it concluded. Though Ardor Maiden was poised and would use her purification, the actual battle to get there was surprising. Like Kuroyukihime being caught by Black Vice, then Haruyuki having to break through and reach Chrome Falcon in himself, then to stick the Star Chaser, The Destiny, through himself to pierce and separate Chrome Falcon from Sapphire Blossom was awesome.
So overall, I loved this volume.

It was an interesting end to the Arc, there were some really interesting clues about the Accel World dropped by the Green King... but also an exaggerated numerous female cast. There were some boring parts and these last 4 volumes could have been possibly condensed into 3 really great volumes with less fillers and maybe cutting out a couple of uninteresting characters. But hey, Haru does progress, the ending of the Armor of Catastrophe is interesting and we learn more about the Accel World.
Not looking forward at all to the next volume. Accel World hasn't been that great that a short story volume will hold on its own. I guess I will read it to get to volume 11 for the next story
In my opinion, this is one of the, if not the best book in the series (from books 1-9). It is a satisfying breaking point, tying up the chrome disaster arc and helping Haru grow.
