Saint's Grove #4

“On All Hallows’ Eve, after the stars align while the full moon casts no light and the skies burn, I will return…”

Mark Hunter had recited the prophecy countless times. The exhibit about witchcraft in early Saint’s Grove was the most popular one in the museum where he worked. It just so happened to be his favorite exhibit too; it featured his ancestor Johan Jager, the witch hunter.

As much as Mark loved the legends, he never believed they could be true. But when the celestial event that the witch foretold occurs, it rips open the seals between worlds and unleashes the witch and chaos upon the unsuspecting town of Saint’s Grove and Mark has no choice but to believe. Luckily, not all evil has come through the portals; Alexander Kemp, who hunted witches alongside Mark’s ancestor, has come as well.

Witches, Alex assures Mark, are very real and very dangerous. And one of the worst ones has taken possession of Mark’s sister. The witch has come to Saint’s Grove to harness the same power that brought Alex across time and use it for evil. She has seven days to carry out her plan, before the rift between time and space closes.

As the time ticks down, Mark realizes he has another problem; Alex intends to use the rift to go home and Mark isn’t so sure he wants the man to leave. Now, he has seven days to defeat the witch, save his sister, and figure out how to ask the man he barely knows to stay in the future with him.

Elizabeth Kirke wanted to be an author before she even knew what an author was. She used to say that she wanted to be an artist, but that was only because she was too young to write and had to tell stories with pictures instead. She hasn't stopped writing since she learned how. It wasn't long before she dreamed of becoming an author and couldn't be happier now that that dream is a reality.

If she isn't writing...well, let's be honest; if she isn't writing she's probably on Facebook thinking that she should start writing. But, if she isn't writing or on Facebook, she's probably doing something involving books, baking, gardening, or yarn. In an ideal world, she'd be reading and knitting while something from the garden is in the oven. Then again, in an ideal world, she'd have a flock of ducks and a couple of goats.

Like most slightly-nosy, avid readers, Elizabeth can't resist trying to catch a peek at books she sees people reading when out in public to see if she can figure out what it is. While doing just that one day, she realized that it would probably be the coolest-thing-ever if she caught a complete stranger reading one of her books. That's her new dream.

I loved getting sucked back into Saint's Grove! I have read a couple of books in this series, been introduced to some "new to me authors" and rekindled my love of past authors. This installment from one of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Kirke, is a m/m paranormal romance. The M/M is not over the top or pornish (is that a word) so readers should not be put off by this.

While short, it's still classic Kirke filled with love, magic, and family. Another great installment in the Saint's Grove series.

I liked this book, it fit in well with the other 2 books I have read in the Saint's Grove series. No I have not read them in order and that did not take away from anything. I read it in 1 night, I could not put it down.
