To The Tall Timber

by B.N. Rundell

A new journey and new challenges…Jeremiah returns from the wild mountains of the west to keep a promise to his adopted father and mentor, Ezekiel. The journey allows for a visit with Jeremiah’s only living relative—his sister. He finds himself obligated to make and keep another promise that sets him, Broken Shield, and Laughing Waters—his Arapaho friend and his sister—on the trail West again. The journey sees them join up with a wagon train of settlers and missionaries searching for a new land and a new life. But when tragedy strikes, everyone must learn to survive against the trials and challenges of the life-threatening wilderness of the West. The long trip presents challenges never before imagined, but with the added resolve of determined settlers, the journey continues to Fort William where the group divides to seek their own futures.Yet the ultimate goal of being reunited with the one woman that truly stirs Jeremiah’s heart and gives meaning to life is realized as the journey for the traveling companions ends as they reach the summer camp of the Arapaho, Jeremiah’s ‘second family.’

About the author

Born and raised in Colorado into a family of ranchers and cowboys, B.N. Rundell is the youngest of seven sons. A Book This Good Is a Treat To Me!

After having read the writings of many authors with similar backgrounds, I find this story intriguing, exciting, and refreshing.
The story is revealed in an 'easy to read and understand' script that kept me turning pages for the next adventure; of which there are many.

To The Tall Timber

The whole of the book was read with a feeling of being kept on the edge of your seat and was an absolute pleasure to read. A most enjoyable read which makes me look forward to reading more in the series which I will do with pleasure.

Excellent

This second story of Buckskin Chronicles finds Jeremiah and Scratch taking on the burden of raising Jeremiah's nephew, making the long journey back to the mountains, guiding a wagon train, facing tragedy, and finally reaching home.

Another typical western read however, I thought the author got a little lazy on this one. Had some good characters and a good story but left out a lot of detail that is common in these western books. I felt some of these details would have benefited the overall book.

My hubby didn't want to quit reading this book. He enjoys the history of these western reads. This is a good book.

An Exciting, Clear View of Early Frontier

Rendell writes as if he has a private time machine to the authentic old west and early frontier. Authentic in every scene, action and detail. This novel gives reader's a real life like view of the tough but often rewarding life back then; if only history school books were this interesting and Enjoyable.

Worthwhile Read

Not overloaded with detail, yet enough to grasp the reality of the westward movement, and the life of the mountain man. Good story line and easily read for a relaxing time.

Long Trek

It takes some time for Jeremiah to retro the tall timbers. With several delays he finally makes it back, but with an extra "package".

An enjoyable continuation of the Buckskin Chronicle series as an important promise is kept.
