Can love’s promise bloom in the shadow of a dragon’s curse?

Jason Flynn loves women. For years he’s indulged his wolf’s vice for sex — his wealth, status, and Hollywood good looks ensuring an endless supply of females to meet his need. But after an ex-lover, dragon fae princess Nickelova, threatens to use his habit to strike out against the pack, Jason realizes his regular routine has become a liability.

Selene Andrews is an acolyte to Preotka Artemis, Fireborn pack’s high priestess. Adopted as a homeless teen, her only desire is to serve the pack as Artemis’s successor. To advance, she must prove her mastery of the ritual magic required of a werewolf priestess.

When Jason’s attempt to quit his vice cold turkey goes awry, Artemis assigns Selene to break Nickelova’s curse and help Jason overcome his addiction. As a celibate acolyte, Selene has plenty to teach Jason about virtue. But is she prepared for what Jason can teach her about her deepest desires?

This book wasn't exactly what I expected and if I'm being honest I struggled a little early on. Just the fact that Jason was a sex addict and it was obvious to everyone that he was out of control to the extend where family gatherings were planned around it but yet he was in denial which yes I know fits in with the addict part but it made for difficult reading at times especially when he was taking it out on those that loved him.
Selene is an acolyte to the pack and she's not at all what Jason was expecting and once it became obvious how capable she was the book became more enjoyable, although it still had a couple of difficult moments.
I really liked Selene and through her I came to like Jason more and the rest of the book was okay but my problem and yes I know I'm picky but....

I have to admit, I mistook the book blurb when I decided I wanted to read this. I'm a fan of shifter books and while I don't love reading about playboy hero's, I have found many books I've loved despite it. I should have paid attention to the word "vice" in the description. Jason wasn't a playboy, he has an actual sex addiction.

I came close to stopping with this book because as any addict would do, he became a nasty person when his loved ones tried to help him. The main characters have to be likable for me to enjoy a book and I was already having a hard time with his "vice". However, I kept reading and once Selene started healing Jason, I could actual start enjoying the book. Jason turned into a hero that I could like and I started to root for Jason and Selene.

This particular storyline wasn't for me but I could appreciate the authors writing and the overall story of the series. This is the 2nd book in the series and I do think it can be read as a standalone, there was history that carried over from book one and more to come in book three. Despite such a subject as sex addiction, there was no cheating but there was talk of past sexual abuse. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Since learning about Jason in the first book (Vice) I have to admit I was curious as to how his story would play out. In a riveting sequel in Fireborn Wolves of sex and action. Playboy Jason meets his match in Selene an acolyte of the goddess Hecate. The ever threat of Alex and his dragon Fae lover plot keeps coming at the Fireborn pack.

I'm so glad that I found Genevieve Jack! She has great stories, characters that are real (even though they are supernatural) with just enough spice to keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is another great story in the Fireborn Wolves series and I can't wait to read the next one!

Love, danger and healing

I was feeling all the things as I read Jason and Selene’s opposites attract, fated mates, forbidden, wolf shifter romance. Jason and Selene are portrayed as real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy beings with pretty big wounds from their pasts. Jason’s character was obviously such a wounded soul in need of healing that his pain was palpable but Selene also was in need of healing, her pain was just less obvious. The combination - whew - had me deep in my big feelings and made the book unputdownable. Jason is a wolf shifter and royalty within the Firebird pack. Two years ago an unhinged and homicidal wolf shifter and his dragon fae girlfriend murdered his parents along with the female wolf who was his potential mate. In order to ease his pain he has been using constant meaningless hookups. When one of his hookups almost causes the death of he and his siblings, he decides he no longer is going to use that vice. Selene is an acolyte priestess to the Preotka of the pack. She knows of Jason and his vice but when she’s assigned to help him fight it, she is equally hopeful that this will elevate her from a simple acolyte and scared that she may not be up to the task. The more time Jason and Selene spend together, the closer they become, but can love happen between such different people in the midst of the intensity of pain and healing. The book is well written, with witty dialogue, good world building, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as shown in sweet moments, spicy scenes, exciting action, danger, family dynamics, painful pasts, evil actors, plot twists, imperfect characters, and love. I will be diving into the final book to see what happens next.

This book is the second part of a trilogy. Do yourself a favor and start with book one to understand and appreciate the full story arc. There is back story from the first book that is not fully included in this book and this part ends on a kind of cliffhanger with a HFN but with the bad guys still out there.

There is more romance than paranormal in this book, and it suffered because of this. Genevieve Jacks has always written within the confines of tried and true tropes of romance but she always had a unique vision and voice. Not so here. This was the most predictable book I've read by her. There is some interesting stuff on sex addiction and manly chests are pumped up in a power struggle, but neither of this saves the book. Her writing is still wonderful and a pleasure to read but this is a lightweight story. None of the characters - always one of her strengths - really stand out as menacing or conflicted. Also, the humor and awkwardness of the other novels were missing. There are the usual recurring characters and set-ups for future novels but I think I will give the third book a miss. I wasn't so much disappointed as underwhelmed from one of my most favorite current writers, but I'm sure Ms. Jacks will soon return to form. She simply has too much talent to let me down a second time.

Jason and Selene a tale of redemption…
And what a tale it was. This story was packed to the brim with magic, adventure and pure unadulterated love, what more can a reader ask for.
Oh and bad guys and gals really, really bad guys that won’t stay down lol
Bring on Silas’s story.

Beautiful

This continues the story of the wolves but it's so much more. It looks at love and loss and how people can carry things that hurt them and allow them to ruin their lives. It's about recovery and finding balance. Oh and magic, hot sex and dragons lol

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Genevieve Jack has perfected writing in the paranormal world. Virtue is the second in the Fireborn Wolves. It's a great sequel, even better than Vice. This is the story of Jason, youngest son in the royal family. He suffers from the vice of sex. He's fed his wolf until he has lost control of the vice. The consequences could doom not only his pack, but the entire world when Nickelova, the dragon fae princess uses it to place a curse on Jason. Selene is an acolyte to Artemis, Fireborn pack’s high priestess. Her life's goal is to become a high priestess herself. She is given the task to break Jason's curse and save him from his vice.

This book is so sexy. From Jason's exploits to the slow build-up between Jason and Selene. Genevieve Jack has found a way to make a potential relationship between a man-whore and an innocent into the most seductive, compelling love story. There is just the right balance of love story, suspense, danger, and action. The main characters are wonderful; these are my favorite wolves yet. The bad guys are truly worthy villains; evil and dangerous. There are appearances from all of the characters in the Knight Games making this book fit right into the paranormal universe we all love while keeping the focus on the Fireborn wolves. This series just keeps getting better. I can't wait for Silas's book!

This was a great sequel from the first book Vice! you could even read this without reading the other books. That being said, I WOULD recommend reading the entire collection. Starting with the Grateful Knight series.
Virtue starts off with the Fireborn prince Jason and his vice controlling his life and possibly putting the Fireborn pack in danger!! LOVED the action, LOVED the romance, and most of all LOVED the detailed descriptions that made me feel I was right there with the Characters. Or better yet a character myself. Genevieve Jack you're truly my Favorite author!!

Omg what a book! I knew after reading Vice this one was
going to be great. And just like book one this was so well
thought out and written so beautifully, but I would expect
no less from Genevieve.

This book is about Jason and his vice which is to have a
perpetual one night stand every day. Sometimes having to
have it several times a day. It has gotten so bad that it is like
a curse. Now he has to seek help, but that goes horribly
wrong. Leaving his brother, and Alpha, Silias only one
choice. He is put in the care of acolyte Selene. Jason is at
a loss she is innocent and Pure and extremely off limits.
But tell that to his wolf who wants her. And as feelings start
to grow between them a past evil emerges and takes Selene
it troughs Jason in a fit of rage now not only does he have
to save Selene he has to convince her to stay.
Let's hope he can.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it
when you do; they value your opinions too.

I got an advance copy of this book and boy am I glad!

Well of course. This is just another paranormal, romance story with a predictable ending, right? Right. Almost. Beware, if you're looking to find out about the story, look elsewhere or even better, buy and read the book.

It is a paranormal romance story except there's the… oh wait, I don't want to tell you about that and ruin it for you. Well the ending is totally predictable. Well except there is that little twist there at the end that was unexpected.
Oh! Wait! This is Genevieve Jack! That explains it, because none of her stuff is EVER totally routine. She always has a little something extra, or unexpected and it always makes me want more. The only thing for sure I'll tell you is you'll know something else is coming.

By the way, this is the second in a series and it will be even better if you buy them both and read #1 first.

Virtue, the second book in the Fireborn Wolves series does not let down. This continues the story of the Flynn family, the Royal family of the Fireborn pack. Jason Flynn has an interesting vice, it is sex. Yet his vice is starting to take control of his life and endangering his life and the fate of the pack. This happens when the dragon fae Nickelova uses his vice against him. Almost brought to death, Jason is saved by the acolyte Selene, who is then assigned to help him with his vice. Will her purity be enough to save him or will the attraction be to strong for both of them. A wonderful compelling read by Genevieve Jack, I couldn't put down. These stories are so original and not like the usual paranormal romance books. I guarantee you will enjoy these, especially if you enjoyed Knight Games series. Genevieve Jack never disappoints her readers.

Of the Fireborn trilogy, THIS was my favorite. Jason was such a rich and complex character, and other authors can only HOPE to create someone so tortured. This is writing at it's finest. I admit to having a crush on Jason. He may just be my new book boyfriend. There were parts of the story I didn't see coming, and as an avid reader, I appreciate the twists.

Virtue was kind of a drag and predictable.
Laina's brother Jason has a sex addiction. He calls it his werewolf vice. Getting over it is going to take a lot of work. It meant he had to undergo therapy sessions much like drug rehab. Anyway, it fell into the hands of Artemis to dole out such virtue. Artemis was the Fireborn werewolf pack high priestess, and Selene was the acolyte in training.
Selene wanted very much to serve the Pack, but she needed to prove she was capable of ritual magic to become the next werewolf priestess.
When Artemis assigns Selene to break a certain dragon's curse on Jason, nobody could have told Selene she was going to fall in love with him.

I mean the whole breaking of the curse was beautiful but dealing with his emotions and triggers on a personal level? What folly! For someone like him to be anywhere near, a young woman like Selene would be counter-intuitive and sheer madness, let alone spend days in a hotel room together. I suppose he had his prize and reward in front of him before he even won the battle! He would have been a blind fool not to have fallen in love with her.
“We were naked, trapped in a dragon’s lair on the side of a mountain in Siberia. If Jason had let Nickelova fry Alex, we would have been next.”

Nickelova is a dragon, and she wants to rule all the supernatural communities. Jason is infected with her curse and puts the safety of the Fireborn Werewolf Pack at risk. She wants to make him her slave.
"You can either come to me of your own free will or wait until your vice makes you my robot. Either way, I’ll see you soon.”

DON'T PUT TOO MUCH STOCK INTO THIS WHEN YOU READ IT. THOUGH I READ IT MOSTLY BECAUSE THE HEROINE WAS THE BETTER, MORE INTERESTING CHARACTER WHO PACKED A PUNCH.

HERO is a sex addict. I didn't follow this series so I'm not very sure about the vices that each werewolf supposedly has but Jason has one incurable one and that is - sex. He's also cocky, arrogant and an asshole when someone tries to help him because his pride won't let them. Anyways, due to his bad habit, an ex-lover uses it against him, cursing him.

HEROINE is like a werewolf version of a priestess, and she's genuinely interested to help Jason but the damn man is so stubborn. Selene has had a tough life before and was rescued by Silas. She's also determined to help people who used to be like her and wants to become close with the Goddess. She's the only one willing to cure Jason and at the same time fall in love with him.

OVERALL everything was pretty much scratching the surface because it didn't feel like LOVE of a lifetime and all that. It was mostly motivated by LUST.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Genevieve Jack’s Fireborn Wolves series follows the action-packed adventures of the Flynn siblings; shifter wolf royalty. This, the second installment in the series, revolves around Jason Flynn, the younger brother to alpha Silas Flynn. Each wolf has a vice, a habit or ritual that needs to be satisfied. Jason’s vice is sex. As such, he’s been satisfying his wolfish appetites for women as long as anyone can remember. But when Jason’s bad habits spell trouble for his pack, he’s forced to turn to a young a beautiful acolyte, Selene, for help regaining control for his own sake and that of his entire pack. And Selene is definitely off limits. Sworn to remain pure in her service to the goddess, both Selene and Jason need to keep their emotions and hormones in check.
Jack is certainly delivering with this series, a spin-off to her Knight Games series. Old favourite characters make cameo appearances in Fireborn Wolves, which is always fun. Jack deftly balances action, suspense, and romance in a book that begs to be read. The romantic tension is off the charts with this one and I had a hard time putting it down. Readers are also given an absolutely delicious lead in to book three, Vengeance due later this year.
It’s been my experience that Jack never disappoints. She is definitely a perennial favourite.

A dragon's heart

This is a very good KU Library selection and a continuation of the Fireborn Wolves sub series within the Knight World series. I liked it better than book one, Vice. The story flows well, the characters are better developed, and the suspense builds toward a great HEA. I'm looking forward to Book Three, Silas' story next.

Virtue: A Knight World Novel( Fireborn Wolves Book 2)

They are taking too long to find Alex. I wonder what this new partner has to hide and who she really is. I wish they had killed Nikkie instead of letting her build that cocoon.

Jason had a sex addiction but denies it. He is the youngest son of the royal family of the Firstborn pack. The addiction has started to take control of Jason’s life. Jason was almost brought to death by Nichelova who was a fae princess. This addiction could ruin the entire world not just his pack. Jason wants a one night stand every day sometimes several a day. Jason’s brother is Silas and alpha of his pack and puts Jason in Selene’s care. Selene is an an Acolyte to a Goddess and she wants to become a High Priestess. Selene is to break the curse and heal Jason’s addiction. Selene is innocent and pure and has to stay that way and is off limits sexually. But feelings start to develop between Selene and Jason.
I didn’t really like this story. At first I didn’t care for Jason for how he treated his family when all the wanted to do was help then i realized that was the addict and started to change my opinion as the story went along. I guess I should have read more on this story before reading it all. I really don’t like to read about sexual addiction. I don’t really understand it and this book really didn’t help with that. Just my personal taste I did finish the story but found the ending predictable. I did like Selene and was happy she was helping Jason. I have to say this just wasn’t for me. I am sure there are others who will love it.
