While browsing through Kindle Unlimited, I came across this book. The cover and synopsis sounded interesting and so I one clicked and hoped for the best. This is the first in a six book series as it follows six episodes aired for a reality television show called 'Reality Girl'. The writing is strong and the layout of the series interesting enough and well paced.

The heroine Lou jumps at the chance for a lot of money and the hopes of finding love. All she has to do is stay with six men, one per month, for the duration of this reality series. The kicker to the situation is that just a few miles away running and working his own bar is guy named Frankie who Lou seems to find comfort in. Lou and Frankie’s relationship seems to be high on chemistry while slowly building a friendship as she goes through this process with the first man chosen named Rhett the Navy SEAL.

”The fact I’m not on the show, and never would be, is what separates me from those idiots. Tell yourself whatever you want, but you’re not looking for compatibility. You’re looking for love. That’s okay. But you’re not going to find it there. You’re just not.”

Overall, a quick but interesting and enjoyable first installment. I’m wondering if all the remaining five contestants will all pale against Frankie and/or does the author have a surprise or two up her sleeve?

This was fun. Six men in six months for half a million? Fuck, I'd do that in a minute. Lou (female lead) agreed to, and thought it'd be a walk in the park. Well, it was an absolute clusterfuck of sorts. Funny and sexy with twists and turns with each chapter, this was a page-flipper if there ever was one.

Each book brings a new male live-in 'roommate', and this one was a navy SEAL with a big dick and an attitude.

I thought it was hilarious, sexy, and well thought out. I can already see that there's going to be a lot of things we'll never expect by the time this is over.

One thing I admired about Jessica was this:

This book, although it leaves you yearning for more, doesn't leave the reader with a cliffy or a bunch of unresolved issues. I appreciate that.

An absolute must read, and quite entertaining, Reality Girl is a real behind the scenes look at the reality TV we've become accustomed to watching.

Have a seat, get a glass of wine, and read this little scorcher.

You sure won't regret it.

It seems strange reviewing my own book, but everyone says I need to, so here goes:

This book is written in first person past tense, and it is written entirely in Lou’s (the female MC) voice.

She is funny, (almost ridiculous at times), and really looking for one thing, and one thing only: Love. She’s at a point in her life where her guard is down, and she’s flat broke. Jobless, penniless, and without a boyfriend, she is approached at a football game by a talent scout.

In a short time, she agrees to be the star of a new reality TV show. The premise? Live with six men (one a month) in six months for half a million bucks. If she marries one? Half a million more.

She quickly agrees, and I can’t say I blame her. The men were all hot and quite swoon worthy. So, man #1 is a former Navy SEAL, and they hit it off pretty quickly.

All the while she is living with man #1, she frequents a bar down the street (in her down time) and befriends the bartender, Franky.

What develops between her and the SEAL is smoking hot. What develops between her and Franky is funny, friendly, and filled with great advice.

Personally, I saw Franky and Lou as the shining stars. And, maybe a little bit of Kelli Karsten, the producer of the show (A real bitch).

In the end, this book is fast-paced, fun, and sexy. With a definite beginning and ending it’s rather satisfying, but I cannot wait to see what happens with the next man, a biker.

This series will undoubtedly be one that people are talking about for a long, long time.

As much as I hate to, I feel I must - 5 funny, sexy, fist pumping stars.

3 Reality Girl: Episode One Stars

To be honest I was expecting more out of this book, I don’t know what but just more something. It was meh kind of read and that’s ok right I am not going to love everything I read.

It’s not going to stop me from getting book 2, because there were parts I really enjoyed.

Like Frank. And I even though I think Lou is a little reckless with her own life and going on the show might show a little bit of desperation, I think she found what she was looking for just in the wrong place.

Over all I liked it.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down, it's a quick read that has you flipping to the next page, next chapter until you hit the end. I loved the characters, Lou is awesome, I may have a tiny bit of a crush on Franky and well, I was torn between wanting to marry, throat-punch or ball-punch Rhett. The story flows really well and the writing really grabs the reader's attention. I read that this is Jessica Hildreth's first venture into erotic romance and she completely nailed it. It was sweet and sexy and funny as hell, I laughed out loud on a number of occasions. I cannot wait for episode two.

I loved this book and can't wait for the next episode. Jessica Hildreth is an amazing author and I am glad I found these books. Lou is on a reality show. She is to spend one month with six different men to hopefully find Mr Right, oh I forgot to say at the end of the six months she gets $500,000. She decides she can do it, how bad can it be, six different hot, sexy guys. All I have to do is act natural because after all the camera is rolling and I mean rolling for everything. Guy #1-Rhett is gorgeous and sexy, I really am looking forward to this month. Rhett turns out to be a total jerk and I don't even want to finish the rest of the month with him. In between her and Rhett's arguments, Lou goes to a bar not far from the house and drowns her sorrows in a few drinks. Of course it doesn't hurt that the bartender is gorgeous and he and Lou soon develop a great relationship. Lou knows that things can't go anywhere between her and Franky because she has five more guys to meet and spend a month with. Franky turns out to be a great friend and Lou tells him everything but right before Lou is supposed to meet guy number two, a biker, Franky decides to show Lou just how much her likes her and boy can he kiss. This book is such a fun read and I do recommend it to everyone.

“Over the course of the next 6 months, all I had to do was spend a month with man. There were only 6 of them. It seemed simple enough.”

I’m actually a fan of reality tv shows but my interests are more inclined on cooking shows, interior and exterior designing, and that include fashion and modelling. I always shy away from drama because they usually require more emotional effort that I’m willing to give. But reality tv books is one I also enjoyed. I’ve been closely following a series I’ve quite enjoy. So, going in through Reality Girl, I was actually excited because I am already prepared for all the “drama that the producers will cook to make good tv”.

Although I was excited by the prospect of 6 hot guys, and holy hotness, I know this is one sure hot and sexy, I kind of didn’t connect with Lou. I wasn’t on board with her reasoning at all and her decisions. And she had that rebellious nature which I approved and didn’t approve at the same time. It’s just that it’s always been a pet peeve of mine when my character just signs and doesn’t read anything she’s putting her name on. Something that would bite her in the ass, for sure.

Anyway, Rhett is a total ass. A given, and quite frankly, I feel like the SEAL thing is a ruse, and not so him at all, which I wouldn’t know but I hope would read when the full show would be aired on tv. Just hoping ad waiting for the commentary there. Reality tv.

Frankie was something else though. Reckless, I know. But He’s so mysterious and he has that aura that just makes you want to just go back to him and want more, pried those layers and discover what he’s hidden.

I may have had also an issue with the production. If the whole point was to make them fall in love, or develop feelings, I didn’t get why the contestants were allowed to leave the house in the first place. I guess I was expecting Big Brother kind of thing, only a little smutty, and that they would be given some challenges to forge them to be together and create some sort of connection or something.

Other than that, the author’s style of writing was flawless and engaging and it just that when I reach the end, I didn’t even realized it. I was so engross reading that I didn’t notice I reached it until I couldn’t turn another page anymore.

Great start

I normally don't read serials, but had to give this one a chance. It's got great chemistry. Lou kinda bugs me. It could be just because it's a short book and you don't get a chance to really get to know her. Will be reading the whole series though!

SHHHH…..Ok, listen up, this is kinda like a commercial break, I do not have a lot of time to explain how you must read Reality Girl Episode One, before the second episode is LIVE.
HMMMMM…. How do I start this review? I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
I thought the storyline of this book was HILARIOUS, SEXY, and FRESH. I have not read a book with concept before, and I am hooked. So hooked that I have read the book more then once, and can’t wait for next installment.
The story starts out with Lou starting an adventure on a reality series. I loved this character she is loving, heart warming and searching, like most of us. A personality that Lou comes across in her adventure is…
Franky is not someone Lou planned on and his honesty leaves her with little doubt what he is thinking at all times. I cannot begin to explain the relationship that takes place between Lou and Franky. You must read to see where this Mrs. Hildreth takes you.
This author did an amazing job at developing real characters that grab your attention, changed your thinking, and evolved to what you do not expect. I have not mentioned the 6 men that Lou comes in contact with because I do not like spoilers. But I will tell you that Rhett is the man that Lou get’s to know first, he is someone you must read to believe. This story was in NO WAY predictable, it is not what you think and will have you laughing almost faster than you can turn the pages. Amazing MUST READ!!! That is it, that is all I got.

"Here's to Second Chances"
I loved this book and can't wait for the next one! This is the first of six books in this episode series. This is about a woman, Lou, who is gorgeous and signs up for a reality tv show. She will live in a house with six guys and date one at a time for a month, to try to find love! Since, this book was about her with one of the guys, I'm guessing each book will be about Lou with one of the other guys, in the following books. Honestly, I would have picked who she did first too. Love Jessica's Dedication & Author's Note! I have been waiting and wanting a book from her, since I first "learned about her and her husband!" Both amazing talented, wonderful, and most loving couple! Anyone would wish they had their relationship! I'm happy that I do, in a opposite way, where I'm SD and my hubby is Jess, personality and our past. This book is dedicated to so many women out there, including me. With Lou making a friend at a bar to get away from everything and the shows name changing, will the first guy be the one? Even if he is, she still has to date the rest. Her friend at the bar, is someone she grows close to, thankfully, since everyone on the show is all about the show! This book is funny, hot, and frustrating. I don't mean frustrating in a bad way, but you will understand, if you are a female and have been there! Understand?! You want to be Lou's best friend, because she's so down to earth & relatable! Will Lou find her true love?

Unexpected delight!

Being a long time fan of Scott and Jessica Hildreth I knew I would like this book. What I didn't know was that I would LOVE it! This is an A+ debut by Jessica. Its a very quick read but packs quite the punch. A lot happens, including a surprising amount of character development.

When you first start reading you think you know what the story is about. One girl, six guys, and six months. One guy per month and at the end of it she picks one. Maybe. We seem to have an extra player in the game. The sexy bartender.

Lou is funny and very likeable. I am not a fan or reality shows at all but if they had women like her in them I would watch! I have already fallen in love with Franky. He is smart and sweet and really seems to have a solid moral code that he follows. As far as Rhett goes? Meh. I love how Lou gets her revenge on the Pizza Prick! I know where I want the story to go next but I have learned to expect the unexpected.

Jessica Hildreth rocked her debut as an author with Reality Girl: Episode One! Lou, a recent college grad with no job is suddenly thrust into the spotlight as the star of reality series. Living with a new guy each month for the next six months seems like a and easy cash for Lou . . .until reality sets in. Episode One is Lou's month with Rhett, a hunky ex-Navy Seal.

Lou is a fun character. I love watching Lou's character grow and develop as she learns to deal with her new "reality."

Lou's relationships with the supportive and sexy bartender, Franky (can't wait to learn more about him) and six hand picked gorgeous guys from different backgrounds trying to win her attention is a fun and exciting ride!

I loved Episode One of Reality Girl and can't wait to see what twists Jessica has coming our way in the next installment!

Well hot dayummm

This is a début book by Jessica Hildreth, based on a reality show. The story features Lou and the six men she will live with for six months. One month, one man is the premise. Our first man Rhett, seems sexy, alluring, and a hot former Navy seal. While Lou goes through why is she here and her instant attraction to Rhett, she finds that good looks dont equate to compatibility. She makes friends with a local bartender Franky. Franky and his bar becomes her safe place to land when things with Rhett and the show become to much. I am so looking forward to book 2 and seeing where the show and Franky take her. As a début novel this was an absolute winner. So when does book 2 come out and who in the six men is next?

“…at that moment, [I] decided chiseled jawlines, rock hard abs, a porn star c**k, nor bulging muscles mattered. What did matter was a man’s ability to be caring and human.”

Wow. This is a great debut by Jessica Hildreth! You just never know what to expect when an author releases a new book. It’s like Russian roulette with literature. But this book was really well written, and had a lot of humor in it, which I greatly enjoyed.

I’m really excited to see what the rest of this series will bring, as well as anything else she writes in the future. Great start to a writing career!

Overall, I do highly recommend this, especially if you love rom-com type of stories. Can’t wait for the next one!

Determining What is Real

Wowza! Lou has really gotten herself into one messed up situation. She has to spend a month with six different guys to get $500,000. If she finds one to marry she gets an additional $500,000. She initially goes off looks for her first guy of the month, ex-Navy SEAL Rhett, and boy is it a huge mistake! She gets so mad at him that she finds a nearby bar and its owner, Franky. They hit it off and she tries to keep it in the friend zone but how long can she keep lying to herself? The biggest eye opener in doing a television reality show is determining what is real. What a fabulous start to this new series with husband and wife collaboration!

A really strong and funny and definitely snarky debut novel and I really enjoyed it. I am not a big fan of serials that leave you hanging, but I will deal with it because this one was so sexy and humorous and each novella deals with a different man so it will be ok to wait.
Love the secondary characters...from the no-nonsense producer to the cameraman who is only trying to do his job and finally, the sweet and sexy bartender who is making life bearable in the house.
Can't wait for the next book in the series because BIKER...yes!

Uniquely Great

I really enjoyed this book. It's a short and sweet/spicy read. I think it's how I always imagined reality TV to be but it's fun to read it play out. The layout of the 'show' is unique to one I've seen before and made for a more interesting of a story. But the real page turner is waiting to see when Lou is going to see what's right in front of her.... Franky.... can't wait to see how it plays out!!!

Excited and intrigued for the next book, because let's be real Jessica can't leave us hanging like this.

What a delight! ❤️

I have never read this style of book before it base on reality show. So each book is a Episode I believe.

I ❤️ Lou as a person. She young and she out to live her life. What can she lose. So why not 500,000 dollars for six months of her life and chance to meet six different men. It can't be that bad right But maybe she should have just took few more minute to think before she sign away!

This episode is about an Ex Navy Seal with eyes to die for but reality sets in fast and think God she has a safe place to run to go clear her head..

The first installment of what will undoubtedly be a fabulous series!
This story starts out with our heroine getting picked to star in a reality show with the premise of finding love. What she soon realizes is that you can't judge a book by its cover and abs, a great smile, and porn star endowment does not true love make. (Personally, I'm totally rooting for the bartender.)
Right out of the gate, this story will have you flipping pages like a mad woman and probably have you working your free hand! ;)
Can't wait for the next episode!!

Damn!!!! I need MORE!!

Lou is in for a serious REALITY check. As a single chick who is desperately looking for love...err, compatibility she takes on the leading role for a reality dating show.

Six men, six months...should be easy, right!?!?

What she doesn't realize is that looks can be deceiving, especially when you're potentially looking in the wrong place.

I enjoyed bachelor #1 Rhett. There were moments of lust, sexual desire and WTF just happened. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

Awesome! There's nothing better than watching Reality TV to escape from every day pressures. But Lou has done it. She signed a contract to meet, live with and be filmed with 6 different men...over a 6 month period. Can she do it? Will she crack under the pressure? She manages to keep her hideaway refuge a secret but will it last? Can Franky, the bar owner, be her salvation from the manipulative reality filming? Can Lou finally be herself? This is the first book with more to come! An excellent, steamy read.

Lou is broke , has no man and when a opportunity falls into her lap to do a reality TV show to find love ,she signs on the dotted line.
Six different men , 1 guy each month and in the end if she falls for one and they get married , she's $500.000 richer.
That would be amazing , but once your behind the camera it becomes a whole different world .
Will Lou live it up or run for the door ??
I wasn't sure I was going to like Lou , she seemed all about the materialistic things like money and instant fame , but when she is stuck with her first choice and realized looks are not everything ,my feelings on her did a 180. The storyline had a lot of oh no he didn't dramatic moments , but was funny , steamy and had a slow building romance hidden in the background.
That ending ...I need to start the next book Now.
