Teen Wolf Fanfic Chris Argent/Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski In a Beacon Hills that's been destroyed by a war between humans and werewolves, Stiles Stilinski does what he has to in order to survive. Words:56259 complete
Lots of feels and admiration for Stiles's strength. I wanted Chris-Stiles together despite the situation I think the story works because for all his vulnerability in the situation Stiles is making decisions and always seems strong, in many ways stronger than Chris, who comes across as a decent man but lost. And Peter is of course Peter.
I'd have liked a little more at the ending, greedy like that, a little something more, though everything that needs to be there is. It ends with a strong beginning. .... LOOK AT THE RELATIONSHIP TAGS PEOPLE!!! I'm so curious where this story goes. And worried about what DW would feel the need to tag 'dark' because this set-up could mean DARK. Nibbles, Emergency Tissues, Blanket Fort with Teddy. Now, who has the booze?
I hope you're ready. You'd better get ready. Cuz you're gonna read this.
Seriously. That last line. Powerful.
Chris has no doubts that’s how the gossip will run, but he also knows it isn’t true. If Stiles were a spy, Peter would never have shown his hand. And this is Beacon Hills, not Portland or New York, or even Charlotte. There are no troop movements here, no pushes, no attacks and counter-attacks. There are just two enemies camped out in the ruins, stagnating.
One sentence and you know exactly where things stand. Brill.
Yes, Peter is dangerous. Could rip his throat out in a heartbeat. But here, in these moments, Stiles is the one holding his leash.
This is all about Stiles and his importance, to Lydia and Chris and Peter and Parrish... and his dad, and to the survival of humans and wolves. Yes!! DW makes it feel like everything is vital, life and death, every moment crackles with importance.
She's also got serious chops in the imagery = emotions department:
Stiles feels an ache inside his gut, for all the plants that have died here, their roots shrivelled and brittle and laying under the dirt like dry bones. He can feel their ghosts whispering to him, humming under his feet.
C'maaaawwwwwnnnnn.
Just a taste. Ok, a few nibbles of what you're in for with this story.
I can't give you much more, they're all spoilers. As usual, Lisa's ability to jam pack her characters with everything that makes us love/hate/need/repel/desire/condemn them is on fulllllll display. Her talent for making me drop to my knees in awe with a single sentence is aaaaaaaall over this thing.
There are definitely dark, soul-crushing scenes but your faith in your storyteller will be rewarded.
This is about survival, choice, life and death, redemption and reunions (there, I gave you a li'l suh'in suh'in ;) ) and what happens when wolves and humans work together... eventually.
Thank you, Lisa!!!!!!! And group hugssss with the survival gang. :D
Somehow, the Word Soup tidbit gave me this impression and I'm not ready to go there, yet. And I love Stetopher, LOVE IT! Those tags. Maybe for Halloween. Maybe. Maybe not.
A new favorite by this author that for a while threatened to go too dark for my tolerance, but never quite crossed the line. I found this absolutely gripping, one of the better dystopians I've read anywhere, raising genuine fear for the characters' safety, both emotional and physical. The overall aura of despair creates unusually high stakes: add to that a bunch of surprises that basically left me gutpunched and reaching for the tequila, an effect exacerbated by reading it as it was being posted. Special praise for a picture of Chris Argent that went deeper than any I've encountered.
What a crazy ride!!! Beacon Hills is a dystopian hell hole. Stiles and Lydia are barely surviving living in the rubble of their old high school. The military and the wolves are at war—everywhere, it seems. And citizens have been rounded up in work camps.
Looking to feed themselves and Lydia’s soon-to-be-born baby, Stiles offers himself to the military in exchange for ration packs. The taker? None other than Major Chris Argent—the man who is responsible for reducing Beacon Hills to rubble.
On the other side of the game is Peter Hale, Alpha, who has been increasing his pack by turning humans: Scott and Jackson, among others.
Stiles starts having feelings for Chris against his will. Peter sniffs out Stiles, and all his delectable scents.
Gerard Argent wants Beacon Hills. Everyone wants Beacon Hills. Why? Read this to find out.
Includes: prostitution, dub-con, violence, grizzly deaths, happy reunions, green light, and a Hale-Stilinski-Argent sandwich!
Another excellent fanfic from DiscontentedWinter, could not put this down. In a dystopian Beacon Hills, Stiles does what he has to do in order to provide for a pregnant Lydia. An interesting trio in Stiles, Major Chris Argent and alpha Peter Hale.
Oh. My. Fucking. GOD! What just happened?!? That was amazeballs. I'm pretty strictly a Sterek or Steter girl, and there are a lot of unique and wonderful stories out there, but there are also a lot of repeating of the same tropes. This was like nothing I've ever read before. And the addition of having Chris as the leading man for more than half of the book before Peter even makes an appearance, is great.
So interesting, and so heartbreaking, yet so hot. And Stiles is so Stiles. All the yes.
Oh, this was good. I can't say that I'm comfortable with the pairing but Peter and Chris were spot on as characters in this one. Loved the assured way Chris carried himself and the layer of guilt for everything he had done and the family he was born into. Loved Peter's smirks and gentle maneuvering from the shadows (not sure what it says about Peter or me if I can only find him believable if he's cunning and shrewd).
Loved the world building and the relationships. Lydia wasn't as central as in other fictions but she still kept her strong personality and was a force to be reckoned with. Parrish was there to help bring the Sheriff and Stiles back together (and pick up his role as deputy). Gerard was the usual cold-hearted bastard but this time with an additional layer of cruelty and madness (quite a fitting death to be impaled by vines and roots). The biggest surprise was of course Derek. Sad that there wasn't the usual spark between him and Stiles but loved to see him support his uncle, be more open, decisive and act as a werewolf.
Kudos on the intricacies of Stiles, Chris and Peter as a couple. That was innovative and brilliant. How Chris and Stiles had a love-hate relationship. How Peter was initially using Stiles just as a means to glimpse a bit of Chris. I think that could have used more time to be explored, to blossom before Stiles took a stand and resolved all issues.

Postwar survival story, hard topics at times. peter/stiles/chris relationship, Stiles being a spark.. The sheriff and parish are fab. dark but a happy ending
This is another dark storyline where Stiles is forced to prostitute himself in order to feed himself and Lydia who's pregnant. Beacon Hills is a war zone & it's only getting worse as Chris Argent's father seeks to make more of an example of the city.
If it was any other author, I'd say that it exceeds expectations...but Lisa always delivers the goods. I never go in expecting just good.
This has darkness...but it also has hope. Even when there wasn't much hope for the future, Stiles was still doing everything in his power to give hope to Lydia.
I love past Chris and Peter...and how Stiles is their link in the here and now.
I enjoy dystopian, and it is well done here.
I don't want to give anything away, so I'll stop now.
