A sexy new M/M romance from New York Times Bestselling author Tessa Bailey

When CEO Renner Bastion walks into a room, everyone keeps their distance. Well, everyone but the sarcastic, tattooed, Boston-bred security guard whose presence has kept Renner in New Jersey longer than intended. As if the unwanted attraction isn’t unsettling enough, Renner finds out his protector isn’t as unavailable as originally thought.

Milo Bautista just came out to his wealthy, ultra-confident boss, a man he secretly respects and admires…in more ways than he’ll admit. Worldly, experienced Renner would never look in his direction, let alone share some of that confidence he wears like a cloak, so Milo has set his sights on someone else to be his first.

Until Renner offers him private lessons in seduction...

Each book in the Made in Jersey series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

Milo Bautista has his boss's number. Renner may appear to be a self-centered asshole, but Milo has been watching him, and there is more to Renner than meets the eye.

Renner Bastion is used to being disliked and left alone, but the sarcastic, tattooed Milo seems to want to take care of him. When Milo asks him to help him catch the eye of another man, Renner agrees, all the while knowing nothing good will come of it.

This review is probably going to sound like I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did. And I DID enjoy it...A LOT. Renner and Milo were SMOKIN. The writing was fantastic as usual. The sex scenes were scorching (Tessa Bailey really should write more M/M books.) It had a ton of feels and it kept me turning the pages.

Unfortunately, it also had one of the most (for me) annoying setups. The whole "please help me get the attention of an OM/OW" (in this case a dude called TRAVIS.) trope. I am just not crazy about that type of storyline. Someone inevitably has doubts and ends up either getting hurt or pulling a "shits for brains move" I also find them to be predictable and yes, this WAS predictable. Travis is never a physical issue for the couple, but his shadow does cover a good portion of the book.

description "I make the decisions. Do you understand? Boss inside work, boss outside of work. That’s me. Your dick seems to like that idea just fine."
description

My other issue was this ended REALLY abruptly in my opinion. I think Renner's and Milo's relationship deserved more than On top of that, since this was the last book in the series, it REALLY needed a WAY better epilogue.

So I know it sounds like I didn't like this book, but overall it WAS an entertaining read. Certainly better than book one, but not as awesome as book three IMO.

Tessa Bailey nailed it once more with her first M/M romance! Personally I enjoyed it immensely and was hooked on it right away. This sexy, intense and passionate love story between two incredible characters kept me entertained from cover to cover.

Renner Bastion is Samantha’s stepbrother we met in the previous book in the series. He’s a wealthy and sucessful CEO working 24/7 and never letting anyone getting close. His business is everything to him and his number one priority. Our first glimpse of Renner is one of a selfish man, over-confident, cold, ambitious, driven, a no nonsense type of guy, and who certainly doesn’t give you the warm and fuzzies and most of his employees and people in the little town of Hook dislike him. Because of his youth, Renner had never been an overly romantic person, finding flattery and closeness difficult to bear. Security guard Milo Bautista is the last distraction Renner needs, but the tatted up temptation that walks into his office every single day trowing subtle jars and sarcasms his way at every available opportunity is too hard to ignore.

Milo has been hired to keep the factory safe and in his mind that duty extended to the factory’s owner, whether he liked it or not. Milo is very protective over Renner and lately has been observing his boss closely, but not only for security reason. Secretly Milo respects and admires his boss. At the beginning Milo careful following of Renner’s movements was just a way to keep the factory owner safe, and also as a way to study Renner’s confidence, hoping to build his own in the process. But along the way, though it had developed into something else entirely. A disconcerting infatuation on Milo’s end considering he was carrying a torch for someone else. Milo has always been fast with women and had practice in that arena, but none at all with men.

To get a chance to impress the guy who’s stirred his first attraction to the same sex, Milo needs to follow the lead of a man who epitomized confidence and charisma, and Renner is the perfect specimen to deliver this kind of guidance. Reluctantly Runner agrees to help Milo even knowing he didn’t have the inclination to become someone’s field guide and that this whole situation was a certified mess. The more time they spend with one another, the more they start questioning everything else in their life and facing their inner desires, their needs and their wants, all one by one. Will the pull be strong enough to erase all the doubts and insecurities and to drown out all the questions?

Loved the journey this author took me on with these two men, the way they grew emotionally as the story progressed and that despite their insane differences they just worked, both amazing in their own ways. The passion between them was intense and their chemistry was off-the charts. Together they were combustible and outrageously HOT. Milo, made my heart melt! He was so caring and considerate towards Renner, always there for him and never once deterred in his determination to be his friend, even so far as hiding his own pain. Until he just couldn't take it anymore...

“I claimed you, Renner. I made you my friend. Made you my…more. I needed you to claim me in return. That was all I needed.”

Emotionally compelling, sexy, steamy, humorous and entertaining, Wound Tight is truly a great story and brilliantly written as always. I couldn't have hoped for a better ending of the amazing Made in Jersey series.

I make the decisions. Do you understand? Boss inside work, boss outside of work. That’s me. Your dick seems to like that idea just fine.”

Ever since I realized that Mr. Tightpants and big and bad boss Renner Bastion was gay in Thrown Down, I've been wiggling in pervy anticipation for his book. Can you blame me? Take Tessa Bailey's gift of writing some of my favorite dirty talking alphas and multiply that by TWO? Sign me the hell up! But I was also a little nervous, too. Can an author that's written mainstream contemporary romance pull off an MM without making it cliche and suffering some of the pitfalls that some author have when taking on something that's away from their norm? In the case of this book, it's a resounding HELL YES.
He had a strict set of rules when it came to other men, and Milo violated them all by being his employee. Not to mention being too young...and too straight.

Now before you go getting the wrong idea here, no, this isn't a GFY. Milo is very much gay. He knows who he is and embraces it. But coming to the realization that he's gay a bit later in his life is also making him question his approach. Watching his boss be so comfortable in his own skin and sexuality makes him follow him around not only to keep him safe. So of course it makes the perfect sort of sense to ask Renner for his help...in navigating this new to him world and eventually getting the attention of the man responsible for his sexual realization. A man that is NOT Renner.
...please stop acting like a nightclub is Mars, for the love of God. You could easily do this on your own, but apparently you're rubbing off on me because I feel...” He shivered. “Obligated to guide your path. You've turned me into a gay Yoda. It's not a good look.”

But the second these two touch, the sexual fireworks go off, the lines get blurred, and all of a sudden what was supposed to be, isn't, and what shouldn't be happening, is.

Renner was every bit the brooding and broken alphahole I expected him to be. But getting pieces of his past does help you understand why he is the way he is. Milo is his antithesis. Fun-loving to his serious, quit to laugh to his brooding. But together they make the perfect sort of sense. The sexual chemistry between them was utterly sizzling. This was more mainstream MM and it hit the spot just right for this reader. I loved the way that Milo was so sure of his own self even while Renner questioned everything. Runner's past does explain some of his behavior, though I didn't feel that it was enough to make him be AS hesitant as he was. He frustrated me to no end with the way he handled certain things with Milo at times. Then again, he was just the right amount of endearing that I forgave him everything at the end.

Wound Tight was a perfectly delicious conclusion to the Made In Jersey series. It was steamy and with the right amount of emotion (though there was some cheese thrown in at the end that was a touch too sweet for me). But it was also entirely satisfying and a totally enjoyable read. If you're looking for a spicy MM romance to spend an evening with, you can't go wrong with this one.

Wound Tight is Tessa Baily's first foray into the world of M/M romance and I'm on my knees, begging it won't be her last!

Wound Tight is the 4th book in the M/F series Made in Jersey, but this can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the other books and had no trouble following along.

Renner and Milo *dreamy sigh* are the heroes in this book. Renner the a hard-as-nails owner of the manufacturing company Bastion Enterprises located in Hook, New Jersey. Milo is an ex-military security guard who has taken it upon himself to also be Renner's personal bodyguard.

Let's break this book down, step-by-step:

1. My favorite, right off the bat, DIRTY TALK.

Renner used his forehead to wrestle into the crook of Milo’s neck, scraping his teeth all the way up to his ear. “I make the decisions. Do you understand? Boss inside work, boss outside of work. That’s me. Your dick seems to like that idea just fine.”

2. Slight May/December romance. Milo is 26, Renner, 33.

3. Dressing room hand-jobs. WHILE FACING EACH OTHER IN THE MIRROR. You heard right. Making eye contact IN A MIRROR during orgasm.

4. Emotional sex with loads of passion.

5. Over-the-top romantic gestures of love.

6. Mild relationship angst to heat the story up, keep it from getting boring and give these boys time to think about their relationship.

7. Warm and fluffy HEA. There are rainbow unicorns jumping over the moon at the end.

8. DIRTY TALK.

“I want to suck you off right here. I want you to remember me on my knees, my head bobbing up and down between your legs, next time someone tries to fuck around with you. Or tries to make you forget that you run shit.” Another, longer lick. “You’re the man, Renner. So sit back, watch me make you come, and feel like it.”

The rest of my review is best told in images.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

It's official: Tessa Bailey writes the kind of sex I love to read.

If you enjoy lots of bossy, commanding sex on page with begging, licking, and all the gory details, Tessa Bailey is the author for you.

The problem with Wound Tight is that I couldn't tell you the plot if I tried.

Plot? What plot? There was a loose bodyguard story and maybe some heart issues... oh, and being the boss or whatever? I think the whole book was a vehicle for sex, and I was down with that.

I liked the sexy parts and felt totally meh about everything else. I've been loving Tessa Bailey lately, so I'm hopeful her M/M game has stepped up since this one (but that her sex stays the same... delicious!).

☆☆☆ A M A Z O N☆☆☆

4 Boss Man Stars

Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books

One of the hottest things is two dominant males finding a way to make room for the other one without subduing their alpha tendencies. In this story this is what we get. I have not read the other Made in Jersey books (which I'll definitely remedy soon) but I never felt lost in the story.

CEO Renner Bastion knows his responsibility to the people he employs in Hook. Unfortunately some of the more conservative enterprises refuse to work with a gay business man. Nevertheless his main goal is to give his staff a thriving place to go to work to. He doesn't need to be loved by them. Not even by the gorgeous security guard who makes sure that Renner is safe.

He enjoyed taking care of people. For some reason, that quality was amplified around Renner. By about seven million notches. Probably because the jerk needed taking care of more than anyone.

Milo Bautista doesn't care if his boss agrees, he does what he is good at, taking care of people. Flipping each other off and exchanging snarky returns are their way of communicating. When Milo learns about Renner's health troubles he comes up with a deal. He wants to teach Renner how to relax if his boss in return shows him how to impress a certain man...and totally drops a bombshell on boss man.

Milo is an incredibly endearing hero. Open, easygoing, guileless, in a masculine way really sweet and comfortable in his own skin. He doesn't play around, he wears his heart on his sleeve and gets a kick out of irritating his boss good-naturedly. He admires Renner but he knows he can't make it too obvious, his boss's ego is big enough as it is - but the admiration goes both ways.

Pride. It jammed in Renner's throat like a hockey puck. This man was growing more incredible by the moment in his utter refusal to be...in...now that he was out. He wanted to experience everything in the open and didn't care who knew.

Renner has a brick wall around his heart. He doesn't really have time and patience for relationships so hookups are all he cares for. That he had his heart broken when he was young only fortifies his decision to not let anyone get too close. He covers his insecurities with snark that often drifts into insults. Milo totally has got his number though, so when he starts tearing down Renner's walls you get to see the real boss man: caring, possessive, aggressively sexual and sexually aggressive, and vulnerable.

He kept them under the guise of dancing by staying in syn with the fast pounding music, but anyone with a brain knew they were two zippers away from fucking in public.

Their chemistry is off the charts hot and their interactions highly entertaining on all accounts. I loved Renner's deadpan comebacks, loved that Milo owned his attraction to men. But above all...Renner's filthy mouth was a revelation. Holy...that guy can dirty-talk. Their relationship developed steadily once Milo was out of the closet and gained depth quickly. While Renner displayed an overbearing dominance Milo's was easier and not as obvious but just as strong.

I adored these two and enjoyed Renner's and Milo's story immensely. I hope that Tessa Bailey will keep writing MM - the combination of two alpha guys and their dirty talks is a heady one.

"I, uh..." Milo started. "Maybe we should address the elephant...trunk...in the room."

Wound Tight is a very sexy read with a true HEA ending, but the writing style is overwrought and heavy on the tortured internal monologues.

The plot is mostly static: Milo, a security guard, takes it upon himself to watch over his stressed out multi-millionaire boss, Renner. Milo has never been with a man but is crushing on Trevor, a celebrity chef in Boston. Milo asks Renner to help him figure out his gay side, and Milo promises Renner he can make him relax.

Things don't go as planned (do they ever?). Renner is a workaholic and already on blood pressure meds, even though he's in his 30s. Milo is lusting after Renner but still hung up on Trevor, which makes Renner crazy. Milo is hurtful without really meaning to be, but that's because Renner doesn't communicate.

Milo and Renner bicker and banter. I enjoyed most of that, although some of the conversations felt repetitive. There was also too much talking during some of the early sex scenes. I am ALL for dirty talk, but this was like an entire philosophy session during a handjob.

I read this book as a standalone, and it worked fine. Renner's sister Samantha and her husband are fairly present, so I can guess the last book was about them.

I'm rounding up to 4 stars because in the end I did like the MCs, especially gruff Renner, who needed to be loved so badly. Renner does something stupid, but he apologizes and goes all out to get Milo back. I am a fan of groveling, so this really worked for me.

I also liked that Milo owned his sexuality; this is NOT a GFY story. It just takes Milo a while to figure out that he prefers men, but once he does, he's all in.

Plus, the epilogue is insanely hot, like scorching; extra half star just for that!

First of all, let me start by saying, that I haven't read the other book in this series, so it can be read as a stand alone, for those who don't want to read the m/f books.

I enjoyed this one, though there were some things that bothered me a bit.

This story is about Renner, muli-millionair, boss-man. He owns multiple factories, one of them located in "Hook". He has known he is gay for a long time and doesn't hide this fact. He's not a very approachable man and though his employees respect him, they don't really like him. He seems very harsh and cold, but....I myself did really like the guy.

Enter Milo. He is Renner's, former military, bodyguard. He was hired as a security guard to keep the factory safe, but has taken it upon himself to keep the boss-man safe as well. Milo is a fun and outgoing man. Everyone does seem to like him. He recently found out that he's gay and he's been trying to figure out how to deal with his newly discovered sexuality. Now don't get me wrong, he isn't struggeling with this fact or anything. He's just trying to figure out how to be with another man.

He already has a man in mind, he wants to be with.....Travis. He just has no idea what to do, or how to act. He figures he needs help and why not ask the one person who seems so confident in his own skin and who knows what it's like to be with another man, his very own boss-man Renner.

These two reach a "sort of" mutual agreement and things progress from that point on.

I have to say I was a bit apprehensive, from the moment I found out, that Milo wanted to be with another man. I know that most people probably felt a bit of annoyance towards Renner, for his somewhat cold and harsh personality. I however felt that annoyance with Milo. If someone wanted me, to help them out, with eventually seducing someone else....I wouldn't be a happy camper.

Travis himself doesn't really have a big role in this book, but just the way these two started out, made me a bit nervous. It isn't my favorite trope.

I also found the push and pull a bit too much. The steam was nice, but it all just took so long and once they were done, they started their pushing all over again....and I don't mean the good kind of puching ;)

This doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the book though, because I did and if this author decides to write another one, I will surely read it.

I'm going with 3,5 stars, rounded up, because I really liked Renner's dirty talk :)

Wound Tight is classic Tessa Bailey--dirty talking and sex fuelled--only this time she's venturing into M/M territory.

"I’m going to enjoy that smart mouth more than I have the right to."

I didn't go into this expecting a profound M/M read: Tessa Bailey has a formula, a successful one and I've read and enjoyed enough from her to know what I'm going to get when I pick up one of her books, and Renner and Milo tick all the boxes. If you've read the previous books in the serious, you'll know Renner as a brusque, grumpy, arsehole with a lurking softer side. Something I was pleased to see continue.

description

I can't deny there were some elements that didn't work quite so well for me. Mainly the fact that Milo had previously been with only women and had zero experience with men, yet never questioned if he was bi, happily telling his friends he's gay after an encounter (a very steamy one) with Renner. That said, after that, I'm not surprised it cemented his decision. However, what it lacked in that respect was compensated for by the fact that I did enjoy these guys together; Milo's no pushover when Renner gets going and there were some nice emotional moments amongst the flirting, fun, tension and passion as they work out how they fit into each other's lives.

"You’ve turned me into gay Yoda."

Removing my gripes from the equation Wound Tight is an enjoyable easy read with two hot, alpha men and was pretty much what I expected. I have to say though, the epilogue, which started fantastic, morphed into a bit of a damp squib, fizzling out which was disappointing considering this is the end of the road for this series and Tessa can write fabulous epilogues. However, if you're looking to scratch an itch with a quickish, sexy story that has the customary Bailey dirty-talk but isn't laced with drama or angst, then this is absolutely one to grab.

5 stars for this sexy, perfectly filthy story by Tessa Bailey ! Her first M/M and she knocked it out of the park! I feel like Tessa needs a big ol' welcome to the dark side party..because she has show  us m/m readers that she has what it takes to join the club! We welcome you Tessa and hope to see more sexy man lovin' stories from you soon!!

Wound Tight is part of the Made in Jersey Series; no worries though if you haven't read the other books in the series, neither did I - and I was still able to understand and enjoy the story.  This story is told in first person, alternating POV between our MC's Renner and Milo. Renner is where the name of the book got its name, he is wound tighter than a cork screw and ready to break. Milo on the other hand is there as Renner security and is the total opposite of Renner ..personality wise. You know what they say though..opposites and all that...well it is true!

In addition to Milo working for Renner, he is also learning to explore his bisexuality and he makes a proposition to Renner. You see, Renner needs to learn to relax or his heart condition won't get any better...and Milo needs to learn how to interact and seduce a man so he can get his longtime crush to notice him.  Who better to teach Milo than Renner who is suave, gay, and obviously would benefit from Milo's skills in relaxation... quid pro quo. It's the perfect exchange! This is suppose to be purely educational - lessons from one to the other, no feelings involved. The problem is nobody told their hearts or their libido's!!

As these two start giving in to their attraction, the dirty talk starts flying as fast as their clothes come off - Tessa does not let us down in the chemistry department! You will quickly find that Renner, while he may appear to be too high strung to enjoy himself...he takes all that focus and applies it to his mad skills and dirty mouth in the bedroom--watch out cause he goes to town!

I loved that aspect of the story....dirty talk and two men who are not afraid to get down. In my eyes, it adds a whole other layer to the already great story!

So let's talk, Dirty talk...just for a second...

The Art of Dirty Talk is not something that everyone can do. It is a skill that HOPEFULLY you can practice while having fun with a lover and again if you're lucky repeat performances are requested. Nevertheless there are some basics that you must know if you are going to attempt dirty talk at the level of Renner - here they are;

1. Be confident. If you are going to do it, own that shit!
2. Appropriate Setting. This level of talk is not appropriate for use during an outing at the grocery story, or your mom's table.
3. Reach out and Touch. Dirty talk while touching your lover or yourself - instantly ups the heat.
4. Start slow...the building up is all part of the fun.
5. Be Natural. If you wouldn't ever say the word normally..don't force it during sex.
6. Watch the reaction. Always pay attention to your lover...do they like it? Keep going!

So, why am I telling you all of these amazing tips? Well because once you experience Wound Tight, you are going to want to go try out the dirty talk with your significant other! This book is hot!

I recommend this book - 5 Stars!!

***3.5 Stars***

I have to be honest and say I'm always hesitant when an M/F author dips into M/M. But I needn't have worried here. Tessa Bailey handled the transition smoothly...and brought her A+ dirty talking game to the table.

"I want to suck you off right here. I want you to remember me on my knees, my head bobbing up and down between your legs, next time someone tries to fuck around with you. Or tries to make you forget that you run shit. You're the man, Renner. So sit back, watch me make you come, and FEEL like it."

Image result for fanning self gif

Renner is a successful, confident businessman. He's the boss. He's the man in charge, the one with all the control...at least on the outside. Inside, he's insecure about his place in the business world and nursing some serious trust issues that stem from a deep betrayal by a former boyfriend.

Milo is just beginning to accept and explore his sexuality. He's always known he's been attracted to men, but he didn't think it was something that he really needed to pursue. Now he wants to pursue it...and he wants Renner's help. Mr. Confident in His Own Skin Renner Bastian. But what Milo gets is a look behind the curtain...and he really likes what he sees.

This book is a lot of push and pull....A LOT. For the most part I enjoyed it, but I think it went on for way too long for my liking. Also, there was more inner monologue than actual conversations. I like knowing what a character is thinking, but I also like a character that actually expresses those thoughts.

The need and desire was there, and the sexual tension was delicious...but what I liked most is when they would let their vulnerabilities show and give an honest glimpse of what they're really feeling and what they want. Renner was the tougher nut to crack, but I liked Milo's persistence. I liked that he jumped in with both feet and wasn't afraid to put himself out there.

Unfortunately, what really kept me from rating this higher was the sheer volume of constant activity these men's bodies were going through.

A sampling, if you'll allow:

The bottom of Milo's stomach dropped out...

There was a melting sensation in Milo's stomach...

...a rave was taking place in his stomach.

Inside his chest, his heart was roaring like an engine.

His stomach was like a fucking drum...

Discomfort climbed the walls of his throat...

A fist pushed low in his belly and twisted...

Nails raked down the back of Renner's neck.

...his chest started to shudder up and down with agitated breaths.

...a valve in his chest turned and pressure released.

Nerves whizzed in Milo's bloodstream.

...bombs going off in his ears...

...thunderclaps going off in Milo's chest.

Almost something on every page. I don't mind these descriptors, but it was just too much for me.

But I will say, the chemistry is there in spades between Renner and Milo and I loved the snarky banter between them. The pacing was good, the sex was HOT, plus you get an epilogue that is all kinds of wonderful and the perfect balance of sexy and sweet.

Overall, even with some of my issues, I really enjoyed Tessa Bailey's MM debut and I hope she continues to dip her toe in the MM world.

Audio – 5 Stars Why is Teddy Hamilton not narrating more M/M??!!!
Story – 4 Hawt AF Stars!!!

The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because it was too short. The story can be read as a standalone, but I still feel like I missed out on MCs’ first meeting. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I wish the author either backtracked a bit or included *gasp* flashbacks!!! Even with the push/pull and angst, I still felt the connection between the MCs, so I can’t complain too much.

Anyway, now I understand why Tessa Baily gets such high praises for her sex scenes. It’s just not the act itself, but the dirty, more like, downright filthy talk. Seriously, I was sweating just listing to it. I also loved how caveman possessive Renner was.

The author now has my attention, so I need a lot more m/m romances from her.

5 “Fight-Flirt” Stars!!!

Spontaneous combustion does exist. Because that’s exactly what happened while reading this book. Oh man oh man oh man. The business man and the security guard GET…IT….AWWN!!!! It’s impossible for Tessa to NOT write dirty words.

à la Mode St. » fashion

“Take it out,” Renner rasped. “Take out your dick and jack yourself off for me. But if you stop giving me what I need, I’ll make you put it back away. I don’t care how pretty it is to look at. You understand?”

à la Mode St. » fashion

Renner is THE BOSS!!! Of my libido! Give. Him. To. Me. He is the man in the suit, always in charge. We meet Renner in the previous book, Worked Up, and I was freaked the fuck out when I found out Tessa was writing her first M/M. And she did NOT disappoint. Renner and Milo were made for each other. Renner has been dating men for a long time, and at the beginning of this book, he believes Milo to be 100% heterosexual. But he is in for a pleasant surprise.

à la Mode St. » fashion

“You let me pull your pants down, let me fuck myself up against your pretty-boy ass, and then challenge me? You’re not ready for what I’d like to give you right now. You won’t be ready for a while.”

Milo. Let me tell you, I usually go for the man in the suit. But give me this charming, dimpled, blue-collar, Boston security guard every damn day. Milo was hired to keep the factory safe, including the boss man who runs it. There is an instant attraction and connection between these two hotties. Milo recently discovered that he likes a dude for the first time (and it isn’t Renner), but he has no idea how to even to date a guy. So he asks Renner to help him woo another guy. Definitely not a good idea when Renner wants him already, but Milo quickly learns that he wants Renner too. *cue all the swoons. MILO!! Stop charming the socks…and my bra…and my panties… off me! Ugh.

Oh god. The manly banter between these two. I could just listen to Renner and Milo talk to each other and “fight-flirt” ….all….day.

à la Mode St. » fashion

“I’m healthy as a fucking horse, and unless you want some good, hard confirmation on that, Bautista, I would refrain from comparing me again to your daddy.”

And like every Tessa book, I give you the best similes:

“The man has a grip like King Kong on a bad day.”

“like a filthy poem that made no sense.”

à la Mode St. » fashion

“You think I’m going to act like a teenage girl at a One Direction concert over some nipples?”

à la Mode St. » fashion

“Ah God. The boss man’s voice had deepened. A lot. It smoked out from between Renner’s lips and slithered in between Milo’s ribs, gathering in his stomach, like a living thing.

I pray to God this is not Tessa’s last M/M!!!

Did I ever thought Tessa Bailey would write a M/M romance? Nope, but I am so happy that she did. Wound Tight is the perfect way to wrap up the Made In Jersey Series as she brings forth a romance that was sizzling hot, erotic, and burning with so much emotion and chemistry.

photo 5a423524243db7933d0ea1b6820432_zps8j4rpoxw.gif Hell, what did he know about sex with a man, apart from being incredibly aware that the idea got him hot like crazy?”

The sexual tension between Renner and Milo was indescribable. When Milo asked his broody alpha boss, Renner to help him in the romance guy department, he didn’t expect that it would soon lead to a hot romantic affair. Yes, if you know anything about Tessa Bailey is that she can write steamy scenes like no other. So be prepare to squirm in your seats. So can two people who are fighting their attraction and feelings for one another find their happily ever after like their friends?

photo 5a423524243db7933d0ea1b6820432_zps8j4rpoxw.gif Renner had never been so certain of anything in his life. Inside his chest, his heart was roaring like an engine. There was no way to achieve detachment here. Had there ever been a way with Milo? No… no. Since the beginning, he’d been affected, and now he’d sunk down into quicksand. He didn’t want to be rescued, either. ”

As much as I enjoyed Wound Tight, I just wished the author didn’t abruptly ended the story of Milo and Renner. It just felt too rushed for my taste. But other than that, Tessa Bailey did an amazing job wrapping this series and showcasing that the gang of friends all got their Made In Jersey happily ever after.

If I could put this succinctly, it would be this...

Tessa + M/M =

This is Tessa we're talking after all, who in my book, is the queen of dirty talk. Mix in M/M and what you get is this. Simply delicious and panty-melting! Yes, I went there! Like I said, you're talking about a woman who has mastered the art of the dirty talk *g*

If you're a fan of this series like me, you'd have met Renner briefly by the second book. I haven't gotten to the third yet but I believe he had a slightly bigger role there. No matter, this is a standalone, you'll be fine.

Renner is the boss and Milo is the employee. Milo has a long way to go learning and understanding his sexual identity. Renner has the experience. What started out as a shaky agreement between these two turned into a yummy story of learning one's self and trusting one's own feelings.

Renner has quite a gruff exterior but there's a reason for that. And somehow, whether Milo knew why or not, he managed to see through that anyway. Milo is so quick-witted, he cracks me up with his thoughts. I love the way he called Renner out on his sh!t and the way he tried to take care of Renner, it's adorable. And Renner, I love how he was so unsettled by Milo. Milo was like a bull in Renner's china store, so to speak. HAH! Renner has these doubts that he hides well but oh boy, when he takes charge, HOT DANG!!!

For a Brazen read, this is one of the hottest I've read! Actually, this is one of the hottest I've read, period! And for realz, beyond the heat factor, you get a story of self-discovery, of tender emotions, of friendship, and of love.

I've been with this series right from the beginning, and to see it conclude like this, it's like going out with a bang! I will miss this series, for sure. O wait, I still have to read Duke's story, so maybe not quite yet for me at least, yay! Oh, which also means then that I can re-read this just to convince myself I've read in sequence! Pffft, as if I need an excuse to re-read this *g*

“You don’t dance.”
“I do now. I do everything for you.” The crowd closed in around them, not even bothering to be subtle about eavesdropping. “I’ll do anything. Just let me keep you.”

I love broody and broken men so of course I loved Renner Bastion. He’s a workaholic and a very sexy boss with his serious demeanor who hides all his feelings from everyone. Renner doesn’t do relationships or feelings and he has been denying his attraction to his very straight employee Milo for a while. But when Milo offers him a deal, asking for help with getting comfortable in admitting to everyone that he is gay so that he could make a move on a guy he’s been crushing on, things become complicated. I loved how hard Renner tried not to show how crazy he was about Milo and the fact that he was so afraid of risking his heart again on a guy who admitted being interested in someone else just made me want to hug him.

“I’m just bones and blood when you’re not around.”

Milo Bautista is a real charmer and a flirt and I loved him. I loved how honest and open he was about himself and his feelings, how he baited Renner to get a response from him. And I loved how confused he was about his intense attraction to Renner. I loved that it didn’t take him long to figure out Renner was the only guy for him.

The romance was excellent and I loved seeing these two fight for their HEA. The sexy times were of course scorching and I loved every moment with these two.

I can always count on Tessa Bailey to write steamy and sexy stories and this was another winner from her. A definite must read for all m/m fans.

Tessa Bailey was an author whose Het Romance I enjoyed reading. Alpha men, strong females, snark, and sexy times- what was there not to like? And then I saw she was crossing over into GayRomance- Scoooore! While this one did start a little rough for me, I soon began to jive with the story and got sucked in. Wound Tight ended up winning me other.

What I loved:

-Milo and Renner. They were well fleshed out and showed growth throughout the story.

-Dual POV!

-The sexual tension was off the charts.

-Steam of course- it is Tessa Bailey.

-Banter!

-Easy story pace.

-Age gap

-Boss/employee romance

-The conflict towards the end pulled at my heartstrings and the romantic gesture that followed made me swoon.

My only complaint was that the push n pull lasted too long. It's not a favorite plot device of mine, and it happened too many times for my taste.

Can it be read out of order seeing that this is book 4 of the series? Yes, I was afraid I'd be lost, and the other characters do show up but it wasn't a big deal in the end. I think that’s part of the reason it started roughly; I didn’t know what to expect.

All in all, I think Tessa Bailey has a hit on her hands. If you need an escape from reality full of passion and romance, you don't want to miss this one! 4 Stars!

Updated review, April 2024:

I still love it 😍… but it did come down from a stratospheric 5 stars to a more reasonable 4 stars upon rereading.

Milo and Renner are two delicious characters, and together, 🤌🏻💯

I absolutely adored the way Milo made it his business to take care of Renner, in the face of every objection the other man put forth. Like, it wasn’t his original task, but he basically rewrote his own job description to be what Renner needed. And he was… thorough about it 😃

Renner had been hurt badly when younger by a boyfriend that left him for another man, and his relationships have been only physical ever since. The circumstances under which their “agreement” begins make Renner even more reticent to let emotions creep in and he’s got a boot firmly planted on the door to his heart. He thinks.

Happily it doesn’t take Milo too long to realize that the fantasy of the first man to stir his interest - the guy he’s supposed to be learning how to impress - well he can’t hold a candle to Renner and everything begins to change. This is a true bi awakening and I feel like it was handled with such emotional maturity and sanity, it was refreshing lol.

Once they finally face what’s going on between them, it’s pretty glorious. 😍

I want to make you happy. In this kitchen. Everywhere.” His knuckles pushed down on Milo’s erection while their gazes held. “And I want to give you victories, so you’ll let me take mine in bed. Does that make sense?”

The good stuff:
- the chemistry was absolutely FIRE 🔥, and the sex was passionate yet realistic… which I’m a huge fan of.

- boss/employee dynamic was done really well here without the ick factor that can kind of creep in sometimes with such a power imbalance

- there’s a genuine love here, and it’s palpable

Niggles:
- There wasn’t much actual security-guard-ing going on. Other than the great drama when Milo “rescues” Renner in the beginning. He’s much more of a personal body guard, which is only lightly touched on.

- We also have the typical idiocies of an author who doesn’t actually understand much about laws and whose firearms knowledge has her security guard packing a Colt 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ At least she didn’t have him “clicking the safety off” on his Glock… I don’t remember what book that was but it made me want to throw myself and the book over a balcony. If authors could please do at least like, 5 minutes of research about these things, it would be a goddamn delight. But I digress, back to this book…

- Renner’s heart condition…. that needed a lot more unpacking. I love that it was a plot point - stress can kill you, I know this too well between my father dying young of a heart attack and being an RN. So if what’s going on with him requires him to be taking some heavy duty cardiac meds like a beta blocker or something, it deserves more than a “nod”. Would have been better imo for him to have just had the threat of as those are two wholly different things. But… if you don’t know a lot about this, it might never even cross your mind. So feel free to totally Ignore it lol. Clearly I enjoyed the story anyway!

Remember: These days I'm finding I care a lot more about how a book makes me feel vs a need to tear it apart and analyze it from every angle. So when considering my opinion keep that in mind.

My favorite smutty author writing a M/M romance? Oh My GawD! Please get ready the fire extinguisher!

Mr. CEO, Renner Bastion is the brother of the previous book heroine, but this can totally work as a standalone. He is stoic and doesn't have much friends and suffer from a health scare not too long ago. His relationship with his sister seems good, but we didn't get to see them spend much time together. Renner is a total workaholic and a good boss despite everyone seems to think otherwise.

Milo is the factory's security guard who was still exploring his new found interest in man. A specific man who named Travis. I usually find the addition of a third party annoying, but in this case, Travis is a non-issue. He is not even physical here, so I don't mind that Milo spend half the book thinking he was supposed to pursue Travis, while being insanely attracted to Renner. In fact, the little bit of a road bump seems to serve as a delicious angst between them.

I'm not going to compliment too much on Tessa Bailey's mad skill in the sex department. I love her m/f and now m/m. I think if she can write about pansexual or transexual or alien sex, I will still find it amazingly hot.

I think many complaint that this book ended abrupt, well I find it too short, tbh. But is just prove how much we love this book and doesn't want it to end.

I was really hoping for a win with this one - some age gap (not huge), 20s vs 30s. Both seem to be macho men (one boss alpha, one hot muscly security detail). I read reviews that raved about the hot sex scenes, the great dialogue, etc.

So... I'm raring to go!

And then this happens...

I mean...

Let me count the ways this went wrong:

1. no plot. stupid plot

2. can the author write LITERATURE? as in at least college level?

> The convoluted sentences, the weird way of talking at times,
> the fact that men talk like WOMEN! I HATE this aspect of bad MMs!
> The repetitive every other word for EMPHASIS.
> The italicizing every other sentence for emphasis. Like "he wanted it... he REALLY wanted it..." "He was trashed... TRASHED..."

Over and over and over!!!! (are you annoyed at my summary repetition above? Take that multiply by 250 pages)

3. The sex scenes are actually underwhelming. I've really MUCH hotter scorching, emotive sex scenes. This was bleh.

I am so bummed...

I don't know where I can find MM romances to my standard that I haven't read yet. BUMMED!!

Tessa Bailey’s first m/m romance is a win! Milo and Renner are both stubborn, big alpha’s, with smokin hot attraction to each other. Wish there had been more of a plot, but it was still a satisfying ending to this series.

It seems fitting that WOUND TIGHT is my absolute FAVORITE of the series! Sadly, even though it's my favorite, the Made In Jersey series has come to an end and I'm heartbroken. And yet, at the same time, my heart is SO DAMN FULL! Ms. Bailey has given us AMAZING characters and such BEAUTIFUL happily ever afters with this series. Even though it is THE END, their stories will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for an AMAZING ride Tessa!

WOUND TIGHT has got to be one of the most anticipated reads from this series! When word got out that Tessa Bailey was writing a M/M Romance featuring Renner and Milo, fans FLIPPED OUT, myself included. It's so great that Renner received his redemption in WOUND TIGHT. He was always pegged as the villain and yet he gets to be a hero and gets one hell of a happily ever after with the gorgeous, tatted up Bostonian security guard. And Milo?! OMG! I love that man to death! He's got to be one of my all time favorite Tessa Bailey characters and WOW! What a perfect match for Renner Bastion. Milo is the only person who doesn't shy away from the stubborn and gruff CEO and Renner is so intrigued by that. All this time Renner thought the thorn in his side was straight, and then said thorn asks for dating advice for another man he is interested in. Talk about a conundrum!

Oh these two just melted my heart. Their slow-burning, but passionate love was a beauty to read about. Renner's internal struggle with always having to be on top of his business and Milo's struggle with the newness of his sexuality and the feelings that he has for his boss-man, oh god, it was just an AMAZING story! I could seriously go on and on about these two, but you have to experience this book as soon as you can. The stubborn workaholic and the man who won't take his shit...the absolutely perfect storyline for these two fan favorites!

It's so sad to say good-bye to this series, but before you know it, Tessa Bailey will have another spectacular series in the works, and I just know we will fall in love instantly. That is just how she rolls...always giving us romances that warms the heart and titillates the senses. I fell HARD for Renner and Milo, and I know you will too!

MM Romance
Boss/Security Guard
3.75 Stars ⭐️

🎵Narrated by Teddy Hamilton🎵 I’m sorry Teddy but your Australian accent is terrible but thankfully it was only in one scene. Other than that, perfection. 💗

This has been on my TBR for ages but it’s not on KU so when I saw it for 99 cents on Chirp, it was a no brainer. I was a bit concerned though because I’ve not had the best of luck with MF romance authors trying to dabble in MM. I usually get cringy sentences like “back hole” (iykyk) or sex scenes where they just cram it in with no prep but this was such a pleasure to listen to. I was pleasantly surprised!

This is a work romance between the CEO of the company, Renner, and the security guard, Milo, that works for him. Milo has come to terms with the fact he’s gay after many years of stuffing it down and just dating women. I loved that Milo was at a point where he was ready and wasn’t questioning everything. Milo thinks his old friend Travis is the one he wants because he’s the reason Milo was finally able to be honest with himself but he has no idea how to court a guy. In order to learn, Milo has been watching his boss, Renner, an out and proud gay man but he needs more guidance and after seeing his “boss man” struggle with something, he offers a trade. Unlike most books like this, Milo isn’t asking for sex tips but for guidance on what to wear, where to go to dinner etc and this brings them closer together as friends which leads to more. While I could have lived without the 3rd quarter breakup and some miscommunications, the grovel was so good and their connection had me rooting for them. And the sex scenes were really hot. 🥵 I’ve never cared for the East Coast Boston accent before but I didn’t mind it on Milo. This is a true standalone and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not reading the previous MF romance books. I’d definitely read more mm by this author. The jealous club scene and where it went from there was my favorite! 😍

Not easy to write this review. I have the feeling my rating has something to do with too much expectations.

Renner is a wealthy CEO, a complete workaholic, and employs Milo, a cheerful and caring security guard. They are different in many ways, but the mutual attraction they both try to hide leads them to make a deal : Milo will try to make his boss relax to deal with his heart condition and Renner will give some pointers to Milo to score a guy. Plenty of time to be together and give in to their attraction.

Granted, I loved the “opposites attract to each other” trope, the great banter between the MCs and let’s not talk about the steam level…mmhhh.
That said, I only liked this story. A lot of actions felt OTT, the plot was a bit weak for me and I’m not a fan of declarations of love staged in front of a huge group of people with music and clapping in the mix.

DANG, Tessa Bailey knows how to write a steamy romance novel.

Tessa Bailey has been an author I have always been interested in, but I never got around to reading her books. I have heard such great things about her books, and I finally got around to reading a book by her! I am now SOLD on her books. I completely understand all of the hype her books get!

I read this book as a standalone and I had no issues following the book even though it is the last book in a series. However, this book convinced me that I need to go back and read all of the previous books in this series!

The two main characters, Milo and Renner, were HOT. Their chemistry was literally palpable. Their tug and pull relationship was so steamy! Milo and Renner worked really well together because they were almost opposites in certain ways. Renner was stern, closed off, and assertive whereas Milo was more charismatic, charming, and laid-back. Their contrasting personalities worked so well together. They had great banter because of their differences and they ended up bringing out the best in each other. I couldn't think of better pair!

As I mentioned, Milo and Renner had insane chemistry. The sexy scenes were so well written and so VERY steamy. I felt myself blush while reading some of the scenes, and it was fantastic ;). Tessa was a master at building sexual tension between Milo and Renner. The results were explosive!

The only issue I had with this book was some of the drama. I didn't really like some of the drama that kept Renner and Milo apart. I wanted the drama in this book to have been handled differently. However, I understood why it was there because it helped feed the tension between Renner and Milo.

Overall, this was a sexy and entertaining read. If you are looking for a M/M romance that is full of steam and humor, then this is the book for you! I know fans of this series will love this book, and the ending of this book will fill their heart with rainbows.

Everything from top to bottom clicked for me with this story, and Renner and Milo’s romance a truly enjoyable way to end this series. Ms. Bailey has given us a great couple and I can see myself re-reading this book in the future. Definitely recommend, especially for those into M/M romances.

Was not sure how I would like this one, due to Renner being a cock womble in the previous book, but I actually loved it. It was on a par with book 3 for me.

Yes Renner was still broody and a bit of an asshole, but we begin to understand why.

And Milo was his complete opposite, younger, more optimistic, more open.

But they have an off the charts sexual chemistry.

I really enjoyed their story, how they came together and both overcome their perceived issues to them being together.

A great 5 stars to end the series.
