Totally sucked me in

I love the characters in these books and the dynamics they find themselves in. I read all three books within a week!!! I could not put it down. The settings are portrayed in such away that you feel as if you are there, my heart pounds through each situation our heroes find themselves in! There are a few errors through out the books that could be fixed with a good read through.

L. K. Hill does a beautiful job of building a visceral city, backdrop for her compelling Street Games series. Abstreuse City is a place you would never want to visit, the murder capital of the country inhabited by every lowlife imaginable and some you’d never imagine.

Kyra has steered clear of the cops since her last involvement, shooting a gang member to save Detective Nichols’ life. There was a definite spark between the two of them, something Kyra has no time to encourage. The only reason she is in Abstreuse City is to find her brother, Manny.

However when it seems a serial killer is stalking prostitutes in the Mire, Abstreuse City’s slums, Kyra has to share what she knows with Gabe Nichols to try and prevent more murders. Is the killer as aware of Kyra as she is of him?

Gabe is the only person in the city that knows Kyra by both of her aliases, Supra, her tough street persona that the Mirelings know her as, and Tanya Roberts, her more respectable alias. Does she dare get close enough to reveal her true identity?

Supra’s main objective is finding an in with the Sons of Ares, the gang running most operations in the Mire. The gang Manny disappeared into just over a year ago. How will Kyra manage to insinuate herself into the gang to find him?

Desolate Mantle is the second book in the Street Games series and is a gripping psychological thriller that ends in a cliffhanger.

This book starts where the first book, Dark Remnants, left off. It is well written and compelling. This story kept me on the edge of my seat as Kyra searches the Slip Mires in Abstreuse City. There is danger, suspense, a serial killer, intrigue, and a search for a missing brother.

I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

My seventh read from author L.K. Hill. Picks up where book 1 left off, like a jet fighter in flight and just gets better from there! Three pseudonyms, 3 different genres. All good, but this book captivated me the most, in fact, I've already started the third book in the series! I’ll be reading more from this author no matter what pseudonym she writes under! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Fast-paced, wonderful characters and a great story. This book is better than the first but I loved the first so that tells you how much I think of this book. Read the series in order, as that seems to make the story clearer. I love this story and highly recommend this to those who love crime fiction/suspense.

This is a great second book in this series. Kyra and Gabe have some electric chemistry, despite the world conspiring against them. This is a dark world that makes an excellent story though it's a place I certainly wouldn't want to live. As dark elements conspire the connection between Gabe and Kyra grows stronger but will they prevail?I can't wait to read Bool 3.

The Plot Thickens.........

This is the second book in the Street Games series. I liked this book, there is action and angst aplenty. Kyra remains my favorite character, because she is smart, gutsy, and determined. However, if you get to the end of this one, you will have even more questions. I am glad to know book three is already available so I can find out some answers to what is going on here.

She is a scary writer

L.K. Hill looks so normal in her picture at the back of books. Its good that she is not a criminal she would never be caught. I am not sure how this much ability to suck you into a story is possible. The Gaap caricature will be haunting my mind for a very long time. Do yourself a favor and buy the whole series right up front. If you love a good mystery your going to buy them all anyway. I have a new favorite author.

This is the 2nd book I've read written L.K. Hill; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This is a very dark gritty thriller, about what people do for one and another. Again just what I like a feisty female, and she sure is feisty. Cannot wait for book three. Recommended read.
