Need a Ride?

Rate this book
Ride sharing business has become a popular trend in the United States, as well as in many other countries around the world. In some cases, it is the best alternative to owning a car or taking an expensive taxi ride.
However, giving a ride from the driver’s point of view is a completely different experience as compared to taking a simple ride to the airport. These series of short stories based on actual events are part of every driver’s daily life.
The author had the pleasure of working for one of the ride sharing company to confirm the displeasure of family and friends’ accounts for driving for one or multiple ride sharing companies. To a naked eye as a passenger, the typical mind set is “customer is always right”. In reality, the human side of the ride sharing is revealed and the burden of giving a ride is carried by the driver alone.

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

After screwing up umpteen times, and getting arrested for sexual harrassment, a loser is forced to take a job with Uber and Lyft. He goes about it like every other job he was fired from. Fortunately, this job has less structure than most, and he doesn't get fired...again. Some of his rides are pretty hilarious.

This was a funny little novella! I expected it to be just a series of anecdotes about one driver's experience as an Uber/Lyft driver. But the book was much more than that. It was a great story about a young man's relationship with his family and how each encounter with a passenger taught him life lessons. I can't want to read more.

I received a copy of this good through Goodreads giveaways, in exchange for an honest review.
