I got this book from a friend who has legitimate prophetic dreams. Once he heard that I had had a few, he gave it to me. I am a cessationist Baptist by upbringing, so even just having the book both intimidated and bewildered me. "What do you think you're doing, Shannon?"

However, wanting to obey Scripture's exhortation to "earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy," and not finding much Reformed material on prophetic dreams (ha!), I began to read this book with curiosity and a healthy dose of skepticism.

My church is charismatic, but, as one of my more charismatic friends puts it, we're "charismatic with seat belts on." The authors of this book are definitely more the "seatbelts off" charismatic. Thus, there were several major theological differences. However, their love for God and their ability to enjoy Him was refreshing, and as I read, I found myself wanting to expect great things from Him as much as they did.

I was also surprised at how much scriptural precedent there is for dreaming. I found the principles they drew out from Scripture's treatment of dreams eyebrow-raising (the good kind). I was amazed at the sheer catalogue of dreams in Scripture, how obvious and evident it was to ancient people that dreams could be meaningful, and how Scripture's use of dreams can inform how we view our own.

In the end, I grew in a desire to expect, hear, and enjoy God's voice more in whatever form it takes. My desire to be near Him was encouraged, and I learned more than I had ever bothered to know about the Bible's use of dreams.

This book was fireeeee!!!!! Dr. Charity helped me grasp the concept of dreams being another form of communication between us and God. He uses picture language and symbols to speak to us about our lives or others. Reading this book put me in tune wirb God and taught me how to interpret my dreams and even help others begin to interpret theirs.

This book revolutionized my perspective on dreams and built up my confidence that I hear from God in my dreams. This book gave me structure, notes, examples, teaching, and awesome things I could do to get the most out of my dreams.

Now, I'm no longer overlooking or thinking I ate some bad food before bed. Now, I actually prepare to go to sleep and have a journal and pen by bed for those late night dreams where God speaks about something coming, happening, I need to fix or pray for or change. I loved this book! I'm happy with this!

I feel like Joseph and Daniel! Able to interpret and starting to get the gist of dream interpretation. Ready to learn more! I enjoyed the plethora of dreams that Dr. Charity and others shared, scriptural support, guidance and keys and so much more. Just awesome!

Let’s start with why I took a star off: this book could have been much shorter and I did skim for the point a couple of times. However, this may just be impatience on my part. This is a logically written and incredibly helpful guide to dream interpretation and prayer. I was quite taken aback and excited to find something that applied practical steps to improvement and have noticed a significant shift in how I feel about my dreams when I wake up. Most definitely worth a read for all Christians and to be considered absolutely essential reading for those who are prophetically gifted or experience vivid dreams.

I would give this book 10/5 if I could. The untapped potential to hear from God every night while we dream is amazing; life changing for sure! Since starting this book I put the teaching to use right away and have been able to find at least one message from God each morning from my dream the night before. It's solid in biblical foundation and full of examples and helpful guidance to give you the confidence you need to tackle your own dreams and what God is wanting to say to you!

Very good book on interpreting and understanding your dreams.
I learned something new... that many times Dream Symbol books are not always accurate because when God is speaking to you, He is many times using symbols and images that mean something SPECIFIC to YOU. So the symbols may mean 1 thing to me, while they could mean something entirely different to another individual.

Currently reading this book & on Chapter 5 & I have been learning a lot. I do have a question if anyone can answer or perhaps if the ones who wrote the book can possibly answer. I'm not quite sure which chapter but they talk about FAMILIAL SPIRIT in a dream and quotes it's not a good thing so I'm wondering what the familial spirit means. Can someone help please? Thank you!

I enjoyed this book! It demonstrates that we should be expecting God to speak to us through our dreams each night. Usually we don't remember our dreams or see meaning in them because we don't expect to - even though God commonly communicated through dreams throughout the Bible. The book isn't a "dictionary" of dream symbols to use in interpreting dreams, rather it shows that God speaks to each of us very personally, and the meaning of things will change according to who we are, our circumstances, etc. Really helpful.
