This is a poignant short story wherein John Pickett is becoming a little to dependent on laudanum, prescribed for pain following a head injury. It was heartbreaking when John blurted out that he desire to keep taking laudanum was because he feared that his marriage to Julia was merely an opium-laced dream and he could not bear to wake up to being all alone. Julia sweetly and gently assures him that their life as man and wife was reality.

2019 bk 361 - a 7 page short story telling of an evening when John Pickett dreams his marriage to Lady Julia is caused by the meds he is taking. A sweet tale, available for 3 book download or pdf download. I chose the later and printed it out. I hope at some point Ms South will combine her John Picket short stories into one printable volume.

Short story just a little bit of extra insight into the life of the Pickett's. Very short but so good. This was a pleasant surprise at the end of To Hot To Handle. I just love this series!

A cute little story. I wanted more after reading her first book, but this one was too short. I like novellas but this sweet story needs to be revived and added to

A very short and sweet story, more like an essay. I believe this to be a bridging book in the John Pickett Series where he wakes up in the middle of the night and can't believe he is married. The story continues from there...
