Elsie Lincoln Benedict was considered the world's most famous lecturer during the 1920s, speaking to over 3 million people in her lifetime and writing on what Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie and a long list of men would do later. She was an American suffragist leader representing the State of Colorado for the Women's Right to Vote. Benedict was a pioneer and well respected expert in the fields of psychoanalysis, sociology, and biology.
This was just sitting on a desk alone at the library and it was so tiny and had this very appealing title that I was like well fuck I gotta read that.
It’s kinda dated (like from 1920) but it’s a recorded version of this professor’s class where she’s basically like “you can get what you want if you work for it” which i guess was a new concept for some people during that time but was still helpful for me to hear lmao.
This women was certainly ahead of her time - I am so surprised that I’d never heard of this book or the author before - but thankfully to a mastermind I am a part of (see link at the bottom of this review to join us) - this book was the topic of our monthly deep dives. I don’t think the information is available as completely and in depth as uncovered inside our mastermind.
What’s even more amazing is that this work by the author pre dates giants like Dale Carnegie and Napoleon Hill - who are typically associated as the originals in the self development field - but Elsie seems the original of the original!
While I didn’t completely agree with everything in her book - it’s so comprehensive and filled with wisdom - it’s worth the 5 stars nevertheless - especially considering how old the work is - it’s ALL here and more.
It really homes in on focusing on who you are and how to transform you to be able to “Get Anything You Want” - because it’s what YOU must become first to get what YOU want.
Do yourself a favour and get your hands on this gold treasure chest of wisdom by clicking the bottom link in my profile/reviews at the end to get your hands on it yourself - it’s not published in its complete form anywhere else as far as I am aware due to how rare this book is
