I am officially no longer a fan of this series. I am resentful and disappointed that the author made yet another cliff hanger and a book 8. I was faithful to this series and then this author started splitting books. 2 books in the 5th book and 2 in the 7th?! OK I read because we were assured this would be the conclusion we deserved but.....nope. Ms. Hudson has decided to pack this series with meaningless detail that adds nothing to the story development and only adds frivolous filler so she can sell a "book." Well I am done being her marketing tool just so she can pay her mortgage. This book takes place in the past entirely and nope no wedding, of course. Its insulting. The whole plot was for kiera to get pregnant and finally become what she is supposed to be. Electus. It does not happen so save your money and your time. This is stupid and deceitful. Too much detail, not enough actual forward movement in the story. Each book gets more confusing and further from the original story. So many extra characters with no purpose. This whole book does nothing to further the plot we read in part 1. Dravens harem?! Really? Head Concubine really? Seriously? How is any of this saving the world again? If you want to continue this world, do character spin offs. Are we heading for a 10 book story? Yep, we are! Book 8 IS actually the 10th book! Enough! Ugh. Ruined.
Really?? Another book in the series doesn't bother me. What bothers me, and I mean really bothers me, is that nothing happens in this book. Kiera is supposed to find Draven (in the past, in Persia no less) and get knocked up (as explained by the Oracle herself in part one) to come back to the present and save both their world's. Does it happen? No it bloody doesn't. Does someone try to kill Kiera? Well yes but that's a given in the series but other than that, Nada. Nothing more is explained and I'm still as confused as I was when I first started the series if not more so. Will I read the next book? Yes I will because I need to know by the gods what's going on but at this rate, hell will freeze over first.
So I've been following this series from the beginning, I've become emotionally attached to the characters. I'm normally hanging on every word but I found myself doing a lot of skimming in this book. Nothing significant happened, it just seemed like a !of of fluff to extend the series to be honest. I wanted to see this series through to the end, but I have a feeling the next book won't be the end of it.
I completely agree with the above review. In prior books, at least everything was mostly resolved by the end of the book before setting up the cliffhanger. Nothing really happens in this book and nothing is resolved. Honestly it feels like filler. There is no reason these books had to be split in two.
This saga and its characters have really grown on me, but I must say that I was quite disappointed by this book. The main storyline seems drawn out, which is the main reason for my disappointment. I liked the idea of getting a glimpse of what Draven and his family were like back then and learning more about them. However, the main plot - for Keira to become pregnant and find her way back home - never happens. Instead, more questions are raised about the time continuum and the possible side effects of the girl’s journey back in time. In my opinion, they should have considered these issues beforehand! I was also looking forward to her gaining more control over her powers and the battle scene at the end. I expected so much more from that scene. It should have been epic, but it just wasn’t. On a positive note, there are fewer scenario descriptions and unnecessary conversations than in previous books, which I really liked. I hope the main plot is more relevant in the next book. Many reviews say it’s just another filler, which would be disappointing.
WOW FANTASIC AS ALWAYS. What can i say Stephanie Hudson u do not dissapoint in this second part in the Afterlife saga. This is by far one of my favourite series that i have read, you keep your readers quessing around every corner, the plot never gets dull as u never know what the outcome is going to be. It followes Kiera as she goes back to be with Dravan from the past, and straight away she is making enemys. Loved how she played her part well, there were lots of laughs from her actions and words as she has to think about what she is saying and doing. I have lots of questions after the ending on how this is going to play out as Stelphanie keeps us quessing again right at the end of this fabulous book. If u havent read this series yet it is a must for anyone that loves Demons,Angels Vampires and anything supernatrual.
Awesome story! This is a interesting story we haven't seen yet with the 4 girls being in the past. I loved that it was only them together and kicking butt as opposed to the men taking charge. I did have a few weird moments where things didn't make sense but I am hoping those issues are addressed in the next book (specific spoilers on that at the bottom). It is like Keira and Draven switched places in the relationship, when in the Past she has to keep things from him to protect him just like he had to do with her in their Time. I feel like anything could happen at this point. Can't wait for the next. **Spoilers for me review below this point** Some plot questions: If only Keria drank the potion to understand people in the Past speaking a different language then how does Ari understand? She was separated from them and that whole time was talking with others with no issue, so when she finds them she is already speaking and understanding everyone around her. Also it didn't explain when in the Past they were all wearing modern clothes, and no one said anything or reacted differently to them. I just felt that tiny part really took me out of the story. When Keira is undressing in front of Parmida and has jeans and a bra on, this would cause a reaction not just taken as normal for that Time period. If you're 2000+ years in the past and show up wearing jeans and a bra people would freak out. Then we jump to a scene where they react at discovering she has shaved legs? Didn't make sense, so I wish it was more consistent with this situation.
Well even though I agree with the low ratings as this feels more of a in between book as nothing really happens besides someone wanting to kill Keira and it takes a long time to detail everything, I feel this is actually how Stephanie writes, which is super full of details and feelings and it makes it special as it is a buildup of characters and events. Do I wish it would have been more to it? Oh yes I do. What I can hope is that she will have 3 more books to write as the main series, continuing in a spin-off based on other character and so she can reach around 20 books with these chars as good and evil fights never do end. Besides it will be interesting to see how they changed the future because they changed the battle and so the power of 3 was not used, also Lucius has now he blood which is super powered with Dom's and the venom one. Like I tell you, because she wants to publish not just a book a year she splits books in half. There is a feel of making the series longer than just 8 books or 9,because of all the possibilities their trip to the past takes. I am rooting for Steph to just make it interesting and not stop the series when it’s this good as spinoffs usually don't have such success.
I waited long to read this part, it is good but not as good as the other once before. I am not complaining it's still a good read only I had a feeling it was less thrilling. Sure there is the betrayal of Ranka that I saw coming it would have been to perfect that she was loyal, because of Pip and her reaction to her. I believe that it will end not well for little Kiera girl in the next book, cos she had changed the future for Lucius as she gave him her blood, or well it can be a good thing, but I guess we will have to wait lol I really love Luc I hope he will get his own story ;)
I would have loved to find out more between Vincent and Ari, they still have not developed there relationship somehow and what happened to Sophia? ( both of them) as well got a feeling they stay to long in the past.....and now we have to wait again till next year....what a shame.... but thanks Stephanie you will keep us on a short leash then everyone can't wait to read your next instalment :)
So this is definitely not the last book in The series and am I happy about it. For some reason I kept thinking it was. the journey the girls took was amazing and thrilling. I love how all the characters came into play when they where in Persia. I just love the last two books cause its literally all about Keria and Draven and getting to see them being together, it was wonderful. Now I can only imagine what is going to go on in book 8. Did they change the sands of time? I can not wait to find out, I am going to sign up with all thee fan pages I can, cause this series is truly my fav. I think I devoured the whole series in 2 1\2 weeks, I could not get enough. I think it was the great art work on Afterlife that really had me intrigued. I was looking for a vampire story but this one just spoke to me and made me grab it in an instant. Thank u for the wonderful time I spent in the world of Keria and Draven. I am looking forward to more, hopefully more than book 8.
What could I possibly say that Stephanie Hudson fans don't know? This book was phenomenal, like every other one that she has written! She takes this world that she has so so carefully put together and turns it on its head time and time again. And each time, she manages to not only get us hooked and ready to find out what happens next but to completely fascinate us and engross us while we are reading it. I can say that out of all the books I've read, which I can safely say is hundreds upon hundreds, this series is by far my absolute favorite. Hands down! So again, Thank You Stephanie Hudson for taking the time to write such a breathtaking story of a love so strong and true that it stands the test of time, and holds strong in the face of every obstacle thrown their way. You are a bloody genius! <3
Wow!! As always I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure!! I must admit, I did think this book would deliver some closure regarding Keira becoming pregnant.....that did not happen..... However A little greedy part of me that is not ready to see an end to this series, is very happy!
This whole book took place when Draven was a Persian King and Keira ended up as one of his concubines. Most of the story Keira was dodging death left and right while Draven was getting to 'know her'.... An epic battle and now we are waiting for the next installment of the series. I can see how others are frustrated. Nothing at all was solved in this book, but you do get a closer look at the Characters from back in time, which was refreshing......along with Pip and her crazy ways♡
OMG. There is still more?! I am dying. This series is horrible. The writing is terrible. The pacing is completely off. And the filler is interminable. But somehow the basic plot sucked me in and now I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! Please please wrap this up so I can stop shamefacedly reading this schlock. (Yes, I know that I am an example of why she keeps it going . . . So people like me buy more books. But know that I would have quit by now if it weren't for kindle unlimited. Even though I know that still encourages her. Sigh. I can't win.)
It's a one-star book but I can't pretend there isn't something compelling enough about the plot to keep me reading the series. So two grudging stars it is.
I just love this whole series. For Keira to try and save the world I hope Sophia and Pip and Ari and Keira make it home and for Keira to have got what she needed for Draven. For Keira to have a child and the fates to allow her to live after child birth is all we can hope for. Stephanie Hudson is one hell of a writer and her husband Blake Hudson is one hell of an artist with all his work for the book covers and calendars. Can't believe that the final book for this series will be out in August 2017. I for one will not be happy ( lol) for it is one of my favorite series of books. But I will be happy to read the spin offs of the series also. I have reread this series 5-6 times. and I am rereading it again getting ready for the final book.
Well for some reason I thought this book was supposed to be the last one. So when I was reading it I was a bit frustrated that it was staying in the time that it was in. However when I found it there is another book I was happy because I would have been quite disappointed. The book was good but I felt like it was missing something I'm not sure what maybe the romance between Kiera and Draven maybe because the wasn't much fighting in this one. Maybe because it was a bit drawn out. In any event I'm a true fan to this series so of course I'm going to give it a five star. I can't wait for the next one.
Overall loved this one. Only criticism was that there was too much "profound thinking" going on, rather than fluid motion of the storyline. Like every move she made there was a pause to contemplate life. But I liked that the story had the old feel to it. I think the whole Katie storyline really took away from the series, but it's nice to see it back on track. This series does have the ability to carry on in many more volumes, if Stephanie continues to add momentum to each one. And I hope it does for many more books. No one who reads this series wants to see it end. Like ever.
No matter the place or time you can always count on Keira. You can count on her love finding Dominic in any form and time. I have always known since starting Afterlife that the journey of their love was going to be a long and varied tale, but I would like it to be the happy ending they have both worked so hard for. Alas we do not have it yet but this was fast paced and extremely fun. I especially enjoyed the two Sophias. Cannot wait until book 8 although I know it is a New Year's present at this time. So like Keira and her "crew". I am stuck in the past awaiting .....
I enjoyed this instalment, and would have given 5 stars if I didn't feel slightly nonplussed!?! I loved the story and Stephanie's writing has improved with each book, and I just love her style of writing, I was just...I dunno expecting something more maybe. I'm delighted that there's another book coming as maybe then we'll get some answers (that I thought may have happened here). All in all though an absolute corker of a read from one of my fave authors, well done love, this saga just gets better and better XX
Wow! Just wow! Seriously, I don't know how Stephanie Hudson does it. Every single book is just phenomenal and they just seem to get better and better. This book captures you from the start. At the end of every chapter it's the same old 'just one more chapter' but it's never enough! The Personalities of each character shine like they do in every book and the story line does nothing but get stronger! The only down side is that I've got to wait for the next book!
ce again Stephanie Hudson has astounded me with her storytelling, the descriptions and vivid pictures painted make you feel like you are there. The story picks up with where part 1 ended with Kiera travelling back In time to Persia, we see a very different 'Draven and Sophia', Ranka being well Ranka, Pip and there is still the mystery of Ari. The story ends on a cliff hanger and I will be waiting eagerly for Book 8
Another am am amazing journey this time into the past. Our fave Kiera causing a stir as usual, the am amazing pip as funny and quirky as ever. And hot brooding and more sexy than ever Draven. What a magic carpet ride it was, and left wanting for the final instalment. Roll on book 8 Loved it if you've never read the afterlife saga your missing out.
All I can say is what am amazing journey Stephanie Hudson has shared with us! She consistently has kept me captivated with her story of love, loyalties, betrayal, sacrifice and some super-duper bad ass supernatural beings and of course mere mortals. She has me laughing, crying and begging for more!
Seriously OMG! Stephanie Hudson you are absolutely brilliant!! I finished this book in one day it was so good! Going back in time seeing another side of Draven in all his rough alpha male sexiness was an amazing and beautiful thing to read. Ugh!! Now we're all stuck waiting for the next book to be released! LOL
Another massive 5 stars for Stephanie. Wow I want to cry because I don't want it to end, but I know I have a wait for the next book. This part 2 was absolutely amazing. It has me howling with laughter and biting my own lip with what was to come. Just one word to describe this saga...... Epic xx
Kiera and Draven has kept me hooded since book 1! Just when I think they can't get any better they hit you from left field and something happens that has you hooked all over again! Will be dying till the next one comes out! FYI a ninja pip is beyond awesome!
I have read this series 5 times now and will be rereading it soon again. this series is very well written. When you go thru Hell literally{ twice} for the man you love then whats going back a few hundred years to get pregnant by your husband. What Keira and Sophia and Pip and Ari see and go thru will lets say "your not in Kanas anymore." Can't wait for more.
Awesome read!!! Stephanie does it again by adding another fabulous addition to this addicting series. Ready and waiting to see what else she has in store for her readers involving my favorite love duo of all time!!!
Another brilliant book of the series. I love the characters more each time. Mostly Dominic of course. I never want the series to end. Loved the humour in parts and the twists and turns.another addictive read. Well done Stephanie.
I love Stephanie's books! As always I can never put them down this one is no different! I always want to keep finding out what is happening or going to happen between Draven and Keira! Great Book!!!!!
Absolutely loved it , the only bad thing I can say about this series is that I wish I had found it when all the books had been written then I could binge read, as I'm missing the Drake already, can't wait for the next book
