There was one person on the alien planet that Samara could not stand. Smug, cold, and objectionably handsome, Jerik “the jerk” Warsong is the last person she expected to be stuck with in a cell, but there they are—trapped together, forced to rely on each other for safety and to find a way out of their prison before they tear each other apart or worse…fall in love.
Rating: Contains moderate violence and language in keeping with highly sensual romance themes. Short novel 40,000+ words.
Jaide Fox has always had a passion for fantasy and the paranormal, having discovered both at a young age and devouring every book she could get her hands on, watching every movie that even hinted at her interests. It wasn't until she was in high school that her mother introduced her to romance--and she was hopelessly hooked.
Eroticism has never really been a part of fantasy, nor romance, and Jaide craved to see the two combined. Not able to find anything on the current market, she decided she'd write her own books to satisfy herself.
Jaide hopes readers will enjoy her first offering from NCP. She has many more novels planned and is currently breathing life into other adventures.
She lives in the middle of nowhere in a swamp, surrounded by all sorts of wild creatures (including snakes and spiders--which she gets rid of on sight!) and one mottled black cat who ambushes her from time to time.
This was probably my favorite book in this bundle. Jerik and Samara certainly didn't make their situations any easier with their mean and spiteful comments towards one another. With all of that animosity lying between them it was no wonder their eventual chemistry was super explosive!
Overall and as mentioned before this was a pretty engaging read, though its taking forever for this supposed invasion to take place, not to mention the slight cliffhanger we are left with..
Give us more!!! Jaide Fox, I have once again been delighted and thrilled with another of your decadent works. I've been saving this one For a rainy day, and I have still yet to be disappointed. Jerik and Samara have to be my favorite couple. The enemies turned allies, to lovers really loved up the drama. Samara goes on the hunt for her missing friend Cindy, which happens to involve stealing one of Jerik's zahla. In a bid to catch her, they both end up being captured by a band of rebels. And facing terrible conditions and threatening ultimatums, Jerik and Saharan must find some common ground with each other to get them both out of there. But Samara is convinced Jerik suffers from having the metaphorical stick up his handsome backside, and Jerik really wished that Samara's beautiful mouth didn't run on his last nerve. But these two have no choice but to stick it out of the want to survive. And amidst all this, they uncover a plot to destroy their planet by the mysterious aliens they once have tribute to before the disappeared. And time.is running out for not just Cindy, but them all.
