Annie Ellis fell in love with Ford Winters at the tender age of 19, but her family persuaded her to end the relationship. Eight years later and still alone, Annie is resigned to life as a spinster. She pours her frustrated passion into teaching art at Austen Abbey. When Annie's spendthrift father and sister nearly bankrupt them, an unknown investor's offer to lease the family's ranch is their only hope. The investor is none other than Ford, who made his fortune in Colorado's silver fields and has returned to Texas to show the woman who broke his heart she made a terrible mistake. But when her family tries to manipulate Ford, he realizes Annie didn't stand a chance against their scheming ways. Now Ford must prove to Annie that true love needs no persuasion, only faith.

I loved this sweet romance set in a quieter time in Austin. Niki made Annie and Ford come to life in a splendid way. I appreciate the way they struggled with true to life issues and had healing and unity through the Lord's working. Thank you, Niki, for a wonderful read.
Austen in Austin, Volume 2, is the second 4 of 8 retellings of Jane Austen's books, set in Austin, Texas, in the 1880s. Each one is a sweet Christian romance written by a different author. But the authors must have talked when they put the collection together, because many of the characters between the different stories know each other.
Fully Persuaded by Niki Turner is based on Persuasion. Annie loved Ford but was forced to break up with him years ago. Now he's back, and they have to find their footing with one another again.
In this retelling, I thought the author's way of putting Annie and Ford back into continual contact with one another was creative. It heightened the tension in the romance, and I loved that. I really enjoyed the characters and the retelling as a whole.
I received a complementary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not compensated to review it, and all opinions are entirely my own.
