"TURBULENT, BRUTAL, GRUELING, THRILLING...JUST AWESOME!!!" This book provided for me a terrific escape from my normal genre of book I like to read mostly steamy and sexy contemporaries and the story here on H J Lawson first book under this genre was nothing short of thrilling. It was well done, but I wasn’t emotionally consumed. Sitting on the edge of my seat watching this story unfold with all the twist was taut and suspenseful. A is a well written thriller with some serious cringe-worthy lines that will leave you gasping. So to say this story was intense would be the understatement of the year. It is like beyond intense and it's slightly horrifying. A Page turner to the very end. What a f***ing brilliantly twisted novel. With some creeptastic characters that will make you shiver.
This was truly one of the most terrorizing thrillers I have read in a long time! How does someone cope with the horror of being stalked by someone who knows your every move? To what extent will a stalker go to completely control your life?
I loved this book. It had lots of twists and turns. I could not put this book down. It is scary but not terrifying. Absolutely great book! A must read.
A definite psychological thriller, this book was captivating from the first chapter. The characters were engaging and interesting. Once I started reading, I had trouble putting this book down. I really felt for the main character and wanted to know what would happen to her and her life. This was definitely an easy, quick, satisfying read. The tension built and built until you were just waiting for the big explosion! Negative for me was the ending. I just felt all the so-called "loose ends" were tied up a bit too neatly, quickly and easily. Nevertheless, this book made for a fun read. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy psychological thrillers.
**I've got this ebook from the author in exchange of an honest review**
What a creepy story! Get ready for your heart to stop beating! My heart was racing with the story as the scary, messed up s**t begun and I couldn't put it down!
I think the most great thing about H.J. Lawson is that she knows how to keep the flame burns, the anticipation is a killer!
<<“A family that kills together, stays together,” he says with a devilish grin on his face.>> This was some crazy messed up :D
What a ride! If you love books with surprises and twists this book is for you. Abigail Hudson has a stalker. How and why are the twists in the book. I had to read the ending twice, because I couldn't believe the end.
I received a copy for a fair and honest review and this is it. I couldn't put it down. Each chapter just draws you and you have to get to the end.
This story went from 0-100 real quick! The too good to be true marriage, the stalker classmate, murder/suicide, then aborting a baby not knowing real facts. Then it's like Abigail and Clark becomes The Smith's meets The Manson's or some s**t. The police were completely useless, and Abigail was an idiot not to screenshot everytime a message popped up for evidence to help the police. So she even had the cameras all over her house their IT people could have tracked if she told the police they were in her house. It's like the whole story was unbelievable including Clark not flipping out on Vincent/Sawyer to the last minute, or telling him at the last minute she aborted a baby that could be his. Instead of talking to her husband from start from the moment she woke up disoriented in another's man's bed with no memory clearly not happy to be their I'd let somebody know something right away at that moment especially if he's going through my stuff while I'm out(suspicious). This is definitely fiction, but some couples in the world do kill together under all kinds of circumstances. Let's just say this novel was enjoyable but not psychological or very thrilling in my opinion. It has alot of drama and a several suspenseful moments. But their at times when I thought what's the relevance of this particular dialogue or character or reference you're getting off track give me more action, mindfuck thrills!
A word to the wise, one little misstep can spiral out of control until you feel like your life can never be redeemed. A young married woman goes to her high school reunion while her husband cannot accompany her and attends some business meeting. Both events are out of town. She will be presenting a speech at her reunion and is nervous. A handsome man strikes up a conversation with her in the bar and accompanies her to the presentation in support. The next morning she wakes up in bed with him, unable to remember anything since giving the speech. In spite of immediately extricating herself from the situation and heading home, from this point on she cannot get rid of the guy. He is able to contact her through some strange app on her phone and seems to know absolutely everything she is doing. The tension just continues to escalate until the final resolution is revealed. I think what really bothered me about the story is that it made me so uncomfortable because it kind of felt that it all could happen...that any of us could be set up to fail and appear to be losing it. Additionally, I really did not like the resolution.
I found the ending in particular a little farfetched. This is the story of Abigail who is happily married and gets date raped at a work conference. Her rapist then stalks her via an app and her best friend and husband are eventually drawn in. Started well.........
This book was about 80% really good - taught psychological thriller and a creepy stalker. Abigail is a very happily married woman with a slight drinking problem. She goes to a school reunion by herself and ends up in a stranger's bed - drugged and date-raped, or black-out drunk and stupid? She tries to shake it off and forget the whole thing, until she starts getting texts and damning photos from the 'stranger'. Does she tell her husband she is pretty sure she was drugged and raped, and is being stalked and blackmailed - or does she try to stop the harassment and move on? The more she does to stop the stalking, the worse it gets - and the deeper the secrets go. I was enjoying the story line, and wondering how it would resolve, when .... one of the stupidest book endings I can remember... what a let-down...
A disturbing story about a family's loss and the introduction of a stranger to the equation. The story pulls you in as the characters struggle with what is happening to them, it is well written and very tense. It didn't click with me and I had to take a few tries to finish it, but I'm sure there will be many who will enjoy it.
I absolutely loved this book. It was a fast read for me. I started out grabbing my attention and held on till the end. Some parts I was able to guess at but was quite the surprise at the end. A definite read.
