Paparazzi. Sold out shows. A seat at the Grammy’s. A musician’s dream, and fiddler Regan Kane's life. When Grounded Sound Entertainment launches a six-month cross-country tour, label superstar Regan, and his drummer cousin CJ hit the road running. Regan’s marriage to Georgia is on a continual upswing as the couple discusses adding a baby to their unconventional union. He knows this tour might be his last for a while, as he plans to trade late nights on stage for diaper duty. As for CJ Kane? His preparations for the tour include breaking the heart of his patient girlfriend, Frankie—the girl everyone thought had finally grounded the notoriously salacious drummer. Demons chase the Kane boys while they live a fast-paced life on the road. Expectations, heartache, and a marriage set to two different tempos follow the lifelong roadsters to each city. Regan and CJ are forced to examine their lives beyond the cheering fans and magazine covers to find out what it is they're really running from.

I started writing poetry long before writing fiction. I firmly believe Poetry is a solid foundation for all other forms of writing. It taught me that a single word can make or break the world.
I write fiction because my characters have a story and they want me to tell it.
I hope you enjoy the pieces of my soul that I share with you.
Kind of left me bummed out. Too much discourse on relationships. Cj cheating, Regan almost cheating and I think Georgia took the blame and shouldn't have for the problems. It was just so disappointing. I may have to restore this when I have time to digest this. I am not big on rock star romances and this one was not inclined to change my mind. It was just so depressing.

This book continues the journey of Regan Kane and Georgia from Sweet Forty-Two. It's a glimpse into their lives and how they each cope with their passions while being in a committed relationship. Andrea Randall intermixed these two with CJ Kane whom we've previously met in other books. Told from all three of their points of view, the story takes us on tour with Regan and CJ as we see how their lives are continuously changing.
There were clear moments in this book that I really adored. The deep friendships portrayed between all three characters and recurring characters are something I really value in Randall's writing. I always feel that above all friendship and camaraderie are important elements in her stories. Some heavy issues surface between these characters and some of the ways in which those are played out I couldn't get on board with. There were moments of juvenile behavior I wasn't expecting as well as some moments between Georgia and Regan that didn't sit well within the context of the story. However, through those moments the purity of their relationships still shined and I really enjoyed how Randall brought everything full circle for all of them. Randall's writing gives full exposure to all emotions her characters are feeling. There's gut reactions and mistakes made and a lot of searching to be better humans which I find intriguing to read. Her characters humanize themselves in very honest ways that makes more real for the reader.
Chasing Kane can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading Sweet Forty-Two beforehand as it provides the beautiful foundation for Regan and Georgia's relationship.
It was okay. Regan Kane and his wife, Georgia, seem to be perfect for each other until he goes on tour. Then between his cousin C. j.'s, meddling and fellow musician/temptress, Nessa, Regan has more trouble than he bargained for.
A solid 3.5 stars... The second half is more like 4.5 stars
I'm late with this book. It obviously came out months ago, but I just finished it. I must say that I truly did not enjoy the first half of this book...and it hurt me that I didn't because Andrea Randall is hands-down one of the best authors out there. Her work is severely underrated. The best part about her is the feels and how well one can connect with characters.
That was the problem with this book. I felt that Regan and Georgia did nothing but talk about why CJ and Frankie weren't together and whose fault it was. It just seemed redundant and so petty. I think it was her way of building up the ending, but it just didn't work for me. However, if one can keep reading, which is not hard to do with Randall, you will see what I'm fussing about.
I could be Georgia. My husband could be Regan. Your husband could be Regan. You could be Georgia. And we are not alone. The second half of this book is so good. It's so real and relatable. It is this kind of writing which made me fall in love with Andrea Randall in the first place. Whether you decide to give this book a shot, or In the Stillness or even Jesus Freaks, it's safe to say that the characters are relatable. That they are real and tangible. That they could be your family or friend. But in Chasing Kane, she took just a little too long to get me there. But have you seen the cover? Wow, it's gorgeous. With that being said, I need CJ's story. I haven't read Sweet Forty-Two and I'm sure it starts there, but I need more. ;)
I will never tire of Randalls ability to provide all the feels with all the backstory. It was great rediscovering 'old' characters and diving back into their lives as well as meeting new friends. These 2 cousins have such intriguing stories/lives to share, and their ladies, super strong but human. Another winner!
