Capturing Caleb (Knight Security 3) is the 4th story in USA Today Bestselling author, Carole Mortimer’s, Amazon #1 Knight Security series. This is a spin-off series to the #1 Bestselling Alpha Series, so come and say hi to old friends and meet new ones!

Author’s The stories in the Knight Security, Alpha, and Regency Unlaced Series have stronger sexual content and language than my other books.

Caleb Knight’s nephew wasn’t alone when he was kidnapped three months ago, his young Spanish nanny was with him. They have Daniel back now, but Magdalena Roig is still missing. Caleb is ex-army, and he knows what it’s like to be held prisoner and tortured, but he still lives his life by the code no one gets left behind. Whatever it takes, however long it takes, he will find Magdalena and bring her home.

Lena has no idea how she’s going to escape from the island where she’s being held captive. The one thing she refuses to do is become a victim. She’s a fighter, and she’s determined to get away from the man who says she now belongs to him. No matter what she has to do, however long it takes, she will escape.

When the powerful Russian, Dimitri Volkov, arrives as a guest on the island, Lena finds herself drawn to this scarred and dangerous man in a way she’s never been attracted before.

Dare she trust Dimitri, when he claims not to be who she thinks he is? Or is this just a trap to ensure her compliance when her ‘owner’ orders her to share the Russian’s bed for the duration of his stay on the island?

I do love this series. It's so OTT with macho men (that is not a criticism). These men are wonderful at everything. Fighting, flying helicopters and even when making love. Pure machismo. I really enjoy this series so far. 4☆

FINAL DECISION:  This novella had a great premise and beginning which ended up resolving too quickly in the end.  For the length, however, I really enjoyed this story.

THE STORY:  Caleb Knight has become obsessed with rescuing Magdelena "Lena" Roig who was kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery.  Caleb has been looking for Lena for three months and he is determined to find her because of his own time held as a prisoner in Afghanistan. He knows what being held hostage feels like and will not allow her to be forgotten.  When he gets a lead on her location, Caleb comes in disguised as a Russian gangster who is offered Lena's services for the night.

OPINION:  This was a good story. A reader has to accept that the two characters would have sex with one another upon first meeting one another and somehow that would work even though the two are under surveillance.  I liked the story because it was tense and tending toward romantic suspense.

Caleb and Lena have a hot connection from the start. The tension when their lives are in danger had this book totally engrossing and interesting.  Because of the length, however, the story was resolved too quickly and these two never really get to know one another.

Therefore, I really enjoyed the beginning of the book and because of the length I thought that it was resolved too quickly.  I accept that, however, in a novella.  I would read the story again especially as an add on to the previous book in the series.

WORTH MENTIONING:  This is a short novella with an emphasis on the heated sexual events between the characters.

CONNECTED BOOKS:  CAPTURING CALEB is the third book in the Knight Security series. It can be read as a standalone although it continues the story from the previous book in the series.

STAR RATING:  I give this book 3.5 stars. This review was originally posted on Top10RomanceBooks.com

I like Carole Mortimer's books in general, but in Caleb's story things get wrapped up too easily. I'm waiting for the great escape and nothing. It makes me think she's watching her word count.

She tells a complete story and develops her characters well, but sometimes events need to play out. The convenience of the timing of the brothers is annoying and wraps things up swiftly and simplistically.

I am reading Zander's story now after the first three brothers, Asher, Gabriel and Caleb. I would recommend if you enjoy romance novels.

No Games

Games:. Find Lena, pretend to be someone else, pretend to be normal......
No Games:. First date, realize you're in love, saying "I love you"....
Truth wins out every time! Overall quality of writing was really good. Well rounded characters and storyline. Lena is strong, determined and is a compliment to Caleb. Well done. No cheating or cliffhanger, there are some steamy intimacy scenes and a happy ever after. Enjoy 🤓

Rescue at all costs

In the ongoing story of Angel's ex-husband, Lena was seized and became victim of his human trafficking business. Caleb, once a prisoner of war, was determined to rescue her. Their story had a few ups and downs, but Caleb's family had powerful friends to assist them. This was a suspenseful story with appealing characters.

Really good story I would give it a 4.5! We finally get Caleb Knight's story. Caleb has suffered many since since he was captured and tortured in the war. This is a continuation of Gab's story. In Ga S story his former lover Angela came for Guelph to save their son and nanny. The son was saved but not the nanny, Lena. Now Caleb is off to find Lena he knows what it is like to be held captive. Great story

Great

Now this is a love story. It was so well written. I absolutely loved the characters. Particularly the h. Whilst the H was flawed, he was loveable. This book was much better than Gabriel's story. His had too much angst and unnecessary arguing on his part. Hope the next installment comes soon.
