“Fuck. Why did you have to say that? Now I’m gonna be scooting down the road with major wood.”

“We’re two wrongs that somehow make a right. Inseparable we’re miserable, but together…we somehow work.”

“I liked a challenge, and Kendall was the first woman in a long time who played hard to get. That made me hard.”
"Stay in the moment with me, Kendall."

"Come fly with me, beautiful."
“I wasn’t ready to believe it. Nevertheless, the song was there.
And I Love Her.”

I barely knew her. But there was a gnawing voice inside of me that seemed to whisper, “Pay attention. This girl is important.”
As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation.
Then, he left.
I thought I'd never see him again.
But fate had other plans.
Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight.
The bigger surprise was the adventure that followed after the plane landed.
Carter was dangerous and always on the move. Even though our connection was magnetic, I knew it was only temporary. He would give me tickets, and I would follow him around the world to exotic places. A bevy of flight attendant exes and rumors about Carter's reputation were never far behind. I didn't know what to believe. But I was addicted. Nothing else mattered anymore. And I was going to get hurt. Because a part of me wanted to be the one to finally ground the playboy pilot. At the very least, he was taking me on a thrilling ride.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.
“Christ, are you not wearing a bra?”
“Actually, I’m not.”
He finally looked up. “Might I ask, why you’re at an airport with no bra on?”
Clearing my throat, I said, “I wanted to be comfortable on the flight. Plus… I don’t really need to wear one in general. Well, at least, I didn’t until you poured seltzer all over me! I wasn’t expecting a strange man to assault me with water.”
His eyeballs descended upon my chest again.
“Could you not stare at me like that?” I crossed my arms over my chest.
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t expecting…”
“To see me practically naked? You don’t say…”
“I don’t know what the fuck is happening here, but when I thought you were gone, it felt way worse than it should’ve after only knowing someone for two days. So, I don’t know what this is. I just know I want more of it.”
He looked around then placed his hand on my waist, leading me into the cockpit and shutting the door behind us.
“I can’t believe you really came.” In an instant, I was against the wall as he pressed his lips hard against mine…
“You went quiet on me. What are you thinking about?”
“To be honest, I’m wondering which Carter is the real you. The guy who slept on the floor in Rio without being asked because he knew I was too uncomfortable. Or the guy who shacks up with a different flight attendant each week.”
“I’m sort of confused about that myself, too. But I know which one I like better. I like myself better when I’m with you. I think you bring out the best in me, Kendall — a side I haven’t seen for a really long time. Kinda forgot that part of me even existed anymore until you got on my plane.”
“Can I see the cockpit?”
“There’s nothing more that I would rather do that show you my cockpit. I thought you’d never ask.”

"Come fly with me, beautiful."

"Sometimes the things we hold onto the tightest are the things we most need to set free."
"We're both fucked up. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe we see a little of ourselves in each other. We're two wrongs that somehow make a right. Inseparable we're miserable, but together... we somehow work."

"Someday, Perky. Someday...when you're ready, you'll realize just how dirty my mouth can be all over you. And you'll love it."
"I was just a girl sitting with a hot pilot, sipping drinks on the beach in Rio. I was a confused person, ready to sell her soul and that of her unborn child...Now, I'm just ...loved."

“Now, I’m just…loved. I don’t want anything else but to be the girl sitting on the beach with the pilot who loves me.

I lifted my drink to my mouth and mumbled to myself, “Where in the world should I go?”
I wasn’t expecting an actual answer.
“My place isn’t far.” A deep, baritone voice said from next to me.
“Brucey?”
“Yes.”
“What are you doing here?”
“I need to borrow some pants.”
“What kind of trouble did you get into?”
“I was skinny dipping with a girl, and someone stole them.”
“Michelle Pfeiffer?”
“Yeah.” I smiled in the dark.
“Atta-boy.” He then simply rolled over and began snoring again.
“Thank you for looking out for me, Captain.”
“Anytime.”
We were halfway back to Maria’s when I said, “Kendall…”
“Yeah?”
“I want to hold your hand.” My mouth curved into a smile. She immediately got it.
“I Want To Hold Your Hand. The Beatles song. I thought you were serious for a split second.”
Laughing, I said, “Actually, I am serious. Very serious. Can I?” I reached out my hand.
She handed me hers. “Yes.” Her fingers looked so tiny intertwined with my large ones.
I didn’t let go the entire way back. The truth was, I wanted to do a hell of a lot more than hold her hand…I wanted to wrap my entire body around her.
Too bad there wasn’t a Beatles song titled, I Want to Ravage You. Would have been way more appropriate for how I was feeling at the moment.
"Come fly with me, beautiful."
Sometimes love is for a moment.
Sometimes love is for a lifetime.
Sometimes a moment is a lifetime.
Ours for a little while.
Wings for eternity.
"The woman who thought she was desperate turned out to be what I was in desperate need of."
“Carter? What are you doing?”
Shit. I laughed under my breath and banged the back of my head against the wood. “Praying?”
“Do you always breathe like that when you’re praying?”
“It’s an intense prayer."
“Let’s just forget about our troubles for a couple of days. Stop overthinking this room situation. You have my word that I’ll keep my hands to myself. I won’t try anything if that’s what you’re worried about—unless you ask for it. Until then, no monkey business. Well, not figuratively at least. There will be an actual monkey from time to time.”
