Bad blood. That’s what’s between me and the Voss family. I vowed to come after the Voss men when I got out of prison. By then they were all dead or gone. Imagine my surprise when a Voss I didn’t know about comes to town. Bailey Voss is gorgeous, sexy and way too young for me. I tell myself I’m going to stay clear but then on a stormy night I see her. At a bar. Getting hit on. When she tries to leave and can’t get her car to start I make one, simple offer.
Bailey
Bad vibe. Mr. McKinley’s got a grudge against me. Why? I have no idea. But he scares me. When I run into him at the dance hall, I want to keep my distance, but I can’t. The man practically forces me onto the dance floor… but his touch makes me feel something I’ve never felt before. The attraction is potent, raw and carnal. I might be innocent, but I’ve never wanted a man like I want the man everyone calls Nicholas “Mount” McKinley.
***** Standalone Novel, No Cliffhanger, Happily Ever After ***** ***** Safe Read, No Cheating, Some Strong Language *****
So before I begin my review of this unexpected book, I have a confession to make and it may shock you, are you ready.....I LOVE SASHA GOLD'S BOOKS So when I found out this morning that she had a new book out...well things got real! I really enjoyed most of her books and this book was no exception! This is a simple boy Nick (furniture builder and business owner) meets girl Bailey (who is a relief work nurse) while getting stitches in an emergency room and falls hard story. You know, the ushe. Just one small little problem here, she just happens to be the niece of the monster who physically damaged the hero's sister and sent the hero to jail for 9 months. Now this is just a minor glitch here, as Nick has sworn vengeance on his/her whole family. You know the real, eye for an eye deal here. So you have this smart but innocent girl who unknowingly walks into the lion cage with a set of circumstances so "made for TV" that we know it is fake. BUT HONESTLY, I DO NOT EVEN CARE HERE. Because now we are finally getting to the sexy parts! Now its not BDSM or Anal or even her getting spanked or punished...Just good old fashioned boy on girl or rather girl on boy action. Weird right? What was the author thinking about here writing about ordinary hot steamy sex between two different genders? This is unheard of...and yet strangely familiar...I wonder?
Now moving along with this story we have some drama, 'cause what kind of story would it be without conflict. I could tell a story like this but you would totally fall asleep if I did.
Honestly, I am trying not to spoil this book too much but this book does briefly deal with a very heartbreaking condition know as endometriosis. For those of you who don't know what that is It is a condition resulting in extreme pelvic pain, bleeding and infertility. Here is a web site you can consult for more information: endometriosisassn.org
Lucky here the heroine Bailey had a happy ending but this is not always the case with this chronic condition.
This book was sweet and sexy with just right amount of conflict. The hero was alpha without being a DOM and the heroine was sassy and brave without being foolish. If I had one negative thing to say, it would be that it dragged a little at the end. The awesome epilogue 5 years later redeemed it for me.
I LOVE ME A GOOD EPILOGUE
Safety: They are faithful. She is a virgin, and he is experienced but not a man whore. He has always used condoms in the past. No real OM/OW drama and a little pushing from the heroine when she discovers the connection they share and his sworn vengeance. I think that is normal given the violent history here.
Worth a read and even a reread.
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE NOW

It would've been 5 stars for me but they didn't say I love yous. I did felt their love for each other like I said before I'm greedy and I need the words.
My favorite thing a hero can do is to go after his woman and bring her back.. Dead set on making it forever. Nick and Bailey were combustible and sweet all at the same time. I wish I could read Sasha Gold 24/7. Always guaranteed safe and Sexy reads.
I haven’t met a Sasha Gold book yet that I didn’t like. So when I was in need of a possessive, protective and jealous hero, I turned to Sweet Trouble. It was the perfect choice.
Nick has a history with the Voss family. A bad history that affected his life on a tremendous scale. Now there are no Voss’ left in their community but even so, he’s left with bitter resentment. When an accident sends him to the emergency room, he meets Bailey with all her physical charms. He’s totally enthralled. Until he learns her last name.
Bailey’s life is constantly on the move from one disaster to the next as she offers nursing aid to affected areas. When “Mount” McKinley comes into the ER and she’s assigned the task of stitching him up, her heart can’t help but speed up at all the glorious man spread out before her. However, almost like a switch, Nick’s eyes go from hot and searing to cold and ruthless and she doesn’t have a clue why.
I really, really enjoyed this book. This couple were meant to be together. He was such a great big grumbly old thing while she was so sweet and innocent and able to poke fun at him. It didn’t take long for the two of them to let the heat carry them away.
The angst in this book was believable and just enough to drive the story onward. Secondary characters did not overshadow or distract from the main storyline but helped to push it along. It had a very nice epilogue five years into the future and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to dive into this quick read. I highly recommend this to those who like a strong alpha hero and sweet heroine.
Dual POV Safe – no ow/om drama at all No apparent triggers
I always like a good insta-love story with a rough around the edges alpha male who has a sweet side for the heroine....this was that book. Great story line. I love how they met at the hospital and she was his nurse. He is quite a bit older than her, but he knew he wanted her right away. There is some bad blood between their families, but he really does not let that stop him. She is very innocent and he wants to take his time, but she wants him right then....loved her aggressiveness....very amusing.
This is a sweet insta-love story that is a safe read....no other men or women interrupting the storyline...which I appreciate greatly. Very good read.
Nick McKinley rebuilt his life after being put in prison ten years ago. Even though the man is gone who all but destroyed his family, Nick still feels a grudge to anyone bearing the name Voss. Bailey Voss has been asked to stitch up an adult, she normally works with kids but can help where ever she is needed. Bailey at first thinks Nick is a sweetheart, but when he learns her last name he radiates hate. Nick is attracted to Bailey, but being around a Voss is not what he wants, that is until he sees Bailey at a bar with a man who is not inclined to hear the word no.
Although this was a bit rush, I did enjoy the story. There are some timeline issues and a couple of loose threads but I liked the overall concept of the story and thought the chemistry was off the charts. Will definitely check out more from this author.
Girls!!!! Stop what you are doing and read Wrecker. That was the bonus book in this story. You can get Wrecker separately as well. The H was such a stalkerific caveman obsessed possessive alpha. He was everything I ever wanted in a H. I thought Sweet Trouble was ok. Not a fan of huge age differences; the h was too young for the H.
"Sweet Trouble" is the story of Nick and Bailey. Nick is just out of prison for an case in which he saves his tortured sister, and on a visit to ER- comes across Bailey- who just happens to be the niece of her sisters tormentor. Despite knowing her family background, and initially judging and resenting her- when he meets her again he pursues and wooes her until she gives in and then sleeps with him. Soon truth is revealed, she runs away, her chases her and then after minor glitches there's HEA. Average book with insta lust and v card. There were a bit of inconsistencies, ESP when it came to Olivia's behavior- and I wanted the heroine to have a little more backbone. The sex was ok, and overall a good read. Safe 2.75/5
Sasha Gold, her books are gold! (Heh, bad puns all day!)
This book was absolutely scrumptious!! A hard, tough alpha hero who is brought to his knees by a sweet, gentle and innocent heroine. It’s even more delicious because she comes from a family that the hero hates. Be still my swooning heart!! Pure frickin magic!
I loved it all! The writing was tight, the story flowed well, the connection and chemistry between the two MCs was palpable.
Hero’s past isn’t mentioned, but it doesn’t come off as if he’s a mansk@nk. He’s a loner and I loved how it was mentioned that the heroine was the only woman he’d had in his bed. Heroine is a virgin, belongs only to the hero. There’s no abuse or cheating of any kind, (possible trigger: secondary character had been attacked by he’s uncle. It’s mentioned, but no description or details.) no ow/om drama, and MCs are faithful to each other during a small separation. HEA with epilogue and baby love.
I liked this one, but I don't think that Nick did nearly enough explaining OR groveling to win Bailey over. Or win her back, or whatever. In fact, I don't recall him apologizing at all.
I did absolutely LOVE this excerpt: “You think you can come?” he asks. Without waiting for a reply he rolls over, taking me with him. Suddenly, I’m on top of him and he pushes me halfway to a sitting position. My eyes have adjusted to the dark and I see a smile tugging his lips. “This might be easier on you.” After a tentative movement, I can see why he set me here, impaled on his shaft. I can control the pressure and as I rock slowly a swirl of pleasure gathers inside me. “Oh!” He nods, his smile grows a little wider. “Atta girl.”
Gold, Sasha. Kept by the Billionaire (Kindle Locations 2830-2836). Kindle Edition.
Enjoyed this one. Nick - the H -was able to overcome his prejudice and criminal record and make something of his life and find love. Bailey Voss Dash McKinley ( that made me lol) also found just how reliable friends and family can be or not be when the chips are down. Good chemistry and storyline from this author that i am just discovering and enjoying.
Lovely story, mature H is a convicted felon as he attacked man who raped his sister. The h is a young nurse who has no idea of his history. Ultimately he takes her home, and seduces her. She's overwhelmed, finds out his history and assumes the worst, can't believe he might care for her. He is actually mad for her and comes to help her when she needs him. Loved the cave-man romance.
Insta love met enemy-turned-love plot. Explosive!! I loved all the way the book showed how useless it was to denied "the one". Thrown in bits of misunderstanding, secrecy, and wrong time and place, the book was a great discover of courting romance. A little of amend acts from the H nearing the end. Nothing bad. Just love.
Don't you hate it when someone resents you because of something your family member did! A family member you never met! I felt so bad for traveling nurse, Bailey because she didn't deserve that! This story is okay, but if you read and review it, you get a free copy of WRECKER by Sasha Gold and Maggie Sweet. i really liked that one.
This is a nice steamy quick read. The summary pretty much tells the whole plot. I just wish its a bit longer, some parts of the story feels rushed because of the limited pages.
This was a bonus book from Kept by the Billionaire and it was really good!! I think I enjoyed it better than the other book. I am a definite sucker for revenge plots and a . Bailey was a great h she was independent and had that whole innocent vibe going without being annoyingly stupid. Vaughn is everything I love in my H's outwardly tough and tortured but with a hidden heart of gold and my heart ached for his poor sister.
I really enjoyed this one! I mean it was a little insta love but I liked it. Nick was a great hero. Not a manwhore. Bailey was a bit of a Mary Sue but not TSTL at all.
