Grant McAllister arrives in Murphy, North Carolina, with one aim: to sell his inherited property and leave as quickly as possible. The big-city lawyer has no interest in his late, estranged grandparents or the dilapidated mansion he just acquired. After his high-profile divorce, he should be avoiding perky reporters, too. But Jami Carlisle is honest, funny, and undeniably appealing.

After breaking up with her safe-but-smothering boyfriend, Jami is determined to ace her first big assignment. A story about the McAllister estate is too intriguing to ignore—much like its handsome, commitment-phobic heir. Thanks to her digging, the pieces of Grant’s fraught family history are gradually fitting into place, but also upending all his old beliefs.

The two draw closer as they share their dreams, until misread signals and misunderstandings begin to test their trust. But in the unspoiled beauty of the Smoky Mountains, there’s healing and forgiveness to be found. And for Grant, this unplanned detour may be just what’s needed to finally guide him home…

From medical secretary to court reporter to property manager to owner of a special events decorating company, my resume reads as if I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. But one thing that has remained constant through the years is my love for writing. I currently pen fun and fast-paced inspirational romance and romantic suspense stories. My books have won several awards and been nominated for two RITA® awards and an RT Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Award.

After spending most of my life in Florida, a few years ago, I moved to the mountains of North Carolina, where I write my stories outside on the back deck in the summertime and inside in front of the fireplace in the wintertime. When I’m not writing or doing writerly things, I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking—almost anything outdoors. My two grown daughters and grandkids live too far away for my liking, so I now pour all that nurturing into taking care of two sassy black cats.

**Updated review for newest version of this book**
Trust My Heart is a newly updated and re-released version of a book of the same name which I read many years ago. It is now the first book in the Song of the Smokies series. It had been a long time since I read this book originally and so it was fun to revisit this small town setting and these characters again.

When Grant first arrived in town, he simply wanted to get what he needed to do done and get out of there. He was very resentful and bitter about the grandparents who had never been there for him or his mother. It was great to see him be able to slowly work through his anger as he and Jami learned more about his family’s past.

Grant and Jami were a fun couple to see grow together and begin to fall for each other, however, they both had some trust and abandonment issues. Grant handled a couple of things very badly in this book because of the betrayal he suffered from his ex-wife, yet I liked how much he grew in this story and that he took responsibility for his reactions.

I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved the small town setting and the various interesting characters the author introduced me to. The two main characters, Grant and Jami both had some major trust issues from past experiences in their lives. They handled those trust issues in very different ways…one leaning toward faith and one away from it.

As they both began to care for each other, things occurred which stretched their ability to trust each other at different times. Although this was frustrating to see happening, it made sense based on the hurts they had both lived through.

Trust My Heart engaged me right from the start and was hard for me to set down. I am hoping there will be future books set in the town of Murphy, NC and filled with Jami’s friends’ stories of love.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It's a nice, sweet, contemporary romance with humor, warmth, faith, a small town atmosphere and just enough drama to keep you interested.

I loved Jami's character! She's friendly, outgoing, earnest and her faith has brought her through her father's abandonment and her mother's death. Jami has forgiven her father but after several failed relationships, she struggles with the fear that was birthed from his abandonment - can she trust any man to stay? Nonetheless, she tries to stay positive and she encourages Grant several times with her attitude and her faith.

Grant has had some rough spots in his life also but instead of turning to God, he has pushed himself hard to become a big-city lawyer and have the money that he never had growing up (for which he blames his grandparents). In the process he loses his wife and pushes himself to the point of burnout. Will what he finds in the town of his estranged deceased grandparents alienate him from the only family he has left and the girl that is invading his dreams? Or will he allow it all to push him to a faith in God that will open his heart to a lifelong love?

I liked the growth of the characters in this book. Grant and Jami both have issues to work out before they can fully trust and commit to each other. Jami is pretty open and quick to forgive but Grant had some serious trust issues. I could have slapped him when he made the same mistake of not communicating and not trusting the second time around. Poor Jami!

I also liked the secondary characters like Bertie, and Jami's friends - Holly and Samantha. Bertie was a fun character who made a lot of noise and waves...lol. Jami's friends were supportive and I sensed that there may be books about them in the future. ;) I'll definitely be looking forward to reading more by this author.

Jami Carlisle is a new journalism graduate who’s managed to snag a job in her tiny home town of Murphy, North Carolina. Her first assignment is to convince her friends and neighbours that she isn’t marrying long-term boyfriend Robert, no matter what he’s said. Her second assignment is to get an exclusive interview with Grant McAllister, heir to the intriguing McAllister estate.

Grant McAllister was burned by journalists over his divorce, and he’s got no intention of being made a fool of again. But this pesky reporter won’t give up, and despite everything he says to himself, he is attracted to her. And she’s helping him find his history … a history that’s different to the story he was raised on.

While this is a romance, there was also a little mystery in the story.
I thought the mystery behind Trust My Heart was excellent—the subplot around the McAllister mansion and the reclusive old lady who once lived there. And I admired Jami, for her passion, her faith, and her faithfulness. She’s a great character, one who deserves the best.

It took a while to convince me that Grant would be a good match for Jami.
She was so nice! And she was so much younger than Grant that it was tempting to think she was naïve. But she wasn’t: she’d just chosen to follow God and to pattern her thoughts and actions on Him. This gave her a depth of wisdom the older Grant didn’t have, and convinced me they’d be a great match. She also showed Grant grace and forgiveness when he messed up (which was a lot. Men).

The other thing which convinced me they should be together was that they both had the same ‘impossible’ dream … well, similar enough that they’ll complement each other. I liked that. Overall, Trust My Heart was a sweet romance built on a strong Christian foundation, but one that didn’t shy away from life’s difficulties.

TRUST MY HEART was foremost about opening ones heart to love, forgiveness, and God. It was a heartfelt and sweet story with small-town charm, friendships, and romance. If you enjoy inspirational contemporary romance, then you may enjoy this one.

LIKES
- I really liked these characters and not only the main characters, but the side characters as well.
- I loved the small-town charm and setting of the story, which adds a lot to the feel of the overall plot.
- The romance was super sweet, fun, and had some sparks. Those first few kisses... Just perfect. The romance was just how I like it.
- I liked that both characters had some hard things in their past and some things they had to work through.
- The story was an overall easy and quick read and enjoyable.
- I loved the old house left to Grant and could totally envision the future it should have. I'm so glad Grant took me up on that. ;)
- The inspirational moments were heartfelt and I liked seeing how the characters changed and opened up and that everything wasn't easy or wasn't resolved instantaneously.
- The side romance/plot about two other characters added some fun humor to the story and it was something that brought some laughs.
- I really liked Jami's two best friends and I'm hoping they'll both be the main focus of future stories.

GRIPES
- I like my stories to develop realistically. Early on in this one the two main characters were already falling in love and missing each other and they'd basically known each other for about three days, one of which they'd spent half of together. However, the author made it sound like they'd spent weeks together. Mix in the dogs who already have a routine too, but have only been with the heroine for a couple of days and it just compounded the issue. I had to ignore and move on to some, hopefully, realistic development in the relationship department.
- Both the MCs made these huge mistakes that were all misunderstandings. I got it the first time and I got how big these issues were, but I also didn't get the "I am in love and I'm so hurt, but I won't even talk to you about it" stuff. I, of course, wanted these guys to get their happily-ever-after, but I wasn't sure I felt it. You know?
- I like it when not all the little pieces tie up perfectly in the end if it makes it too perfect, particularly in contemporary fiction. This had to do with a particular character showing up towards the end of the story and the heroine getting a chance to do something about that aspect of her life, which I felt was unnecessary and made the story too perfect or less authentic. I would have been fine without that and her having just worked through things and showing that she had as she had told Grant.

In the end, was it what I wished for? I did have some hang-ups about this one, but overall, it was a story I enjoyed and the romance had some definite sparks and sweet moments. I also thought the inspirational elements were spot on. They weren't overly dramatized or preachy, but were meaningful and felt authentic.

This story has everything a reader would want to explore forgiveness, trust, dreams, secrets and love. The characters were very well developed and I quickly was able to connect to them. The town called Murphy, North Carolina was beautifully described with words that made me want to live there. It is a nice little town with people who care about each other and maybe one or two who meddles into other people's lives. There were times that I laughed at the hijnx of good meaning people trying to play matchmaker.

Jami Carlisle is a very sweet character who wants to be the best journalist around. She just needs to find that perfect story that with explode with excitement. She has a little anxiety of her ability as a writer and I loved how the author explored her journey of following her dream. What does she do when she finds out a dark secret about Grant's grandparents? Will she ignore the hurt it could cause in order to get the big story? Jami does have something from her past that makes her not trust. Who abandoned her and caused her to feel unable to give her heart to someone? We all have probably experienced a time when our heart was broken. Did we forgive quickly or keep that bitterness rooted deep in our heart?

Grant MvAllister has come to the small town for one reason. He is a very confidant man who seems to be in a rush to finish his business in Murphy and get back to his life. He has the daunting task of overseeing renovations and selling of his grandparents mansion. He soon realizes it is not in good shape and finds himself stuck in the town. I did like Grant and had a soft spot for him because he seemed at times like a lost child. What secrets did his mother keep from him that will cause him to question his childhood and be one angry with his mother? While I was reading this part of the story, I kept thinking of the scripture that says, "All things hidden will be revealed." We may not like what we find out, but God has a reason for those secrets to be revealed. The story is very clean and has a great theme of faith and forgiveness. I loved the way the author allowed the characters to experience what happens when you keep unforgiveness in your heart.

The story is written with warmth and takes readers through heartache, secrets, building relationships and trust. I loved the way the characters each has doubts and hidden hurts that brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend this book that will bring families together and show what the true meaning of forgiveness is.

"Bitterness can ruin your life if you let it. When the bible says we're to forgive our enemies , it's for our own good."

My Thoughts:

Trust My Heart is Carol J. Post's latest book and it is AWESOME! This is my first time reading one of her books and I am hooked. Carol J. Post writes with authority on: North Carolina, lawyers, journalism, the newspaper business, and estates. I found myself unable to put this book down, from start to finish I found myself in Murphy, North Carolina with all these characters. I absolutely love Carol J. Post's style of writing, I felt like was there seeing and being a part of this book. In this book there are a great group of characters that I truly enjoyed. They are real people with messy lives and things in their lives they struggle with. I found myself truly enjoying Jami Carlisle. Her fun-loving personality and her approach to getting the story about the McAllisters was inspired. I found myself in awe of her attitude toward life, her unwavering faith in God, and her ability to share that with those around her. I truly enjoyed her. Her interactions with other characters brought lots of laughs and some tears. This story definitely has highs and lows. This book is definitely one that will stay with me for a long while. This book made me look at my relationships especially with God and where I am in the process. I am so thankful for reading this book and finding another must read author. This book is wonderful, I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoy Christian Contemporary books, you will definitely enjoy it. I give this book 5+ STARS.

This is a delightful Christian romance. There are several themes running through the story, making it a romance with a little more meat on the frame.

The plot is good. Grant is a rising New York lawyer who has just inherited his estranged grandmother's home in a small North Carolina town. He's ready to put the large home on the market and then take off for a much needed sabbatical. Until he meets Jami, new reporter for the local town newspaper. She's been assigned to do a story on him and his grandparents. Her aim is to solve the mystery behind the decades old change in the couple, going from socialites to recluses. When she meets Grant, her heart realizes he is more than she bargained for.

The romance part of the plot is well done. I liked it. There were also other aspects of the novel I liked too. There is much character transformation that must happen in both Jami and Grant before a romance can blossom. Jami's father had abandoned his family when Jami was eight. She still fears abandonment by men. Grant had been convinced his grandparents hated him as he had never met them. In their house he finds evidence to the contrary, however. Had his mother lied to him all these years?

So there are serious issues which the main characters need to face and conquer. It is tough going. Lack of trust on both their parts makes for misunderstandings and hurtful situations. Only God working within can heal old hurts, bring forgiveness, and make a way for a good future.

Post has given us some support characters that are great. Bernie, an older reporter for the paper, is quite the character. She is always trying to make romance happen between others. She and Hank, the older manager of the local hardware store, always seem to be at odds. Until, that is, Jami and her friends turn the tables on Bernie and set her up for romance.

I recommend this enjoyable romance. There are good characters with great character development. There are a few good themes to think about and discuss. And readers will get to enjoy the great outdoor scenery of North Carolina.

Whenever I get my hands on a romance title, I worry that it's going to be the same ol' thing. Girl meets boy- acts shy. Boy meets girl, acts like he doesn't care. Both deny feelings and become annoying before a happy ending. That wasn't the case with this one. Well, maybe it was... a little- but it was good!

Trust My Heart, by Carol J. Post is about Jami Carlisle, returning home from college and ready to step into a full-fledged commitment with her long-time beau, Robert. The problem is, there are no sparks, no fireworks and no true love. Yeah, sure he's her best friend, but why can't she feel what she thinks she's supposed to feel with him? When she begins working for the local paper, and is given an opportunity to interview the sole beneficiary of the McAllister estate, she can't let it get away!

Grant McAllister's got a fractured heart. Unwanted by the woman (his grandmother) who left him anything, the last thing he expected was to have everything bequeathed to him. He's survived a busted marriage and is so not interested in a relationship. He's a polite but rigid and yet Jami comes into his life and things begin to change. . Somehow Jami is able to discover things about his family he never knew. She may also help him change his outlook on life.

This novel is Christian themed, so it's clean, comforting and not preachy. You love getting to know the well-developed characters and not just some perfect folks (although Jami did come off pretty near flawless), in a small town that makes things work out for the Happy Ever After. The story is fast-paced and you end up loving it so much, you don't want to turn the final page. I loved it and if you've been with me a while you know how I am about romance! I will definitely pick up more by Carol J. Post. Trust My Heart is a winner for my bookshelves.

Carol J. Post’s newest novel Trust My Heart is the first in a series set in one of my very favorite places – the Smoky Mountains. In fact, the town of Murphy NC and its beautiful mountain setting acts as a secondary character of sorts in this novel about finding home, learning to forgive, and daring to trust.

Bernie is a hoot! And so is Hank! I love quirky characters like this. As separate characters, they’re already fun but their bickering back and forth together made them even more entertaining. The matchmaking plot that Jami and her friends hatch to get the two together didn’t add much to the story – or to Bernie and Hank – one way or the other for me; I think even without it their relationship would remain interesting and well-defined…and hilarious … and even a little romantic.

Jami and Grant have a lot of chemistry together – and a lot of heartbreak in their respective backstories. Grant especially finds it difficult to trust and the rather extreme way this affects his actions (especially concerning Jami) made me want to purse whomp him at least twice. On the other hand, he does have some pretty swoonworthy and heartfelt moments to make up for it!

Trust My Heart is a sweet small-town romance with a couple of quirky characters, a little bit of family mystery/angst, and a tender theme of forgiveness. While a couple of the plot threads were distracting or unnecessary, others have me eagerly waiting for more books in this series. Several of the supporting characters just quite simply NEED for their stories to be told too! The icing on the cake for me – in addition to the great characters and the swoony moments – is the NC mountain setting, one of my happy places in real life and in fiction too.

A classic small-town romance with lots of heart. Post as captured the unique personalities of some memorable Murphy citizens. Still grinning over their antics. They provide wonderful comic relief for the angst that abounds as Grant struggles to come to terms with his family history...and his past.

Jami's dogged pursuit of a story both exasperates and intrigues him -- because he's definitely attracted to the earnest cub reporter. But pursuit of a relationship is pointless -- they live in different worlds, have different goals. And if that isn't enough to motivate caution, her naïve faith is a huge deterrent.

A mysterious family estate hoards secrets begging to be uncovered -- but once they are, will Grant and Jami survive the fallout? An engaging contemporary love story with a twist of mystery.

This one was not for me. Very predictable, too much fluffy. The girl should have prayed for maturity. If you like very light romance with lots of Christian influence, you may like this one.
P.s.: Consider a person good just because she is Christian is very naive!

I won the ebook: Trust My Heart through a Goodreads Giveaway and the following is my honest review of this novel. What a delightful and inspirational romantic story by Carol J Post!
Grant McAllister arrives in Mutphy, NC from NYC, hoping to sell the property, he just inherited from his paternal grandparents. Jami has just returned home to Murphy, after graduating from college, with a journalism degree. She's already got a job lined up with the Cherokee Scout, Murphy's hometown newspaper. Her first assignment is to get an interview with Grant, the grandson to the mysterious and reclusive late McAllisters; and now, the new heir to the large landed McAllister Estate. Jami has a personal interest because their estate backs up to her home; and she always walks through the McAllister forest, especially, when she needs to commune with God. Grant refuses Jami's first request for an interview. Jami, not one to take "no" for an answer, drives over to the McAllister property with a neighborly plate of cookies. She asks Grant to give her two weeks, so she can show him the beauty of Murphy, and convince him not to sell to Durham Vanguard. He's had his eye on property in Murphy ever since a very deep vein of gold was discovered to run underground there. Jami knows Vanguard would completely demolish the McAllister Estate's forested mountain property searching for this gold. Grant agrees to the tours; he's beginning to enjoy seeing the upbeat, pretty reporter, who's always smiling. Jami is also hopeful that she might get that interview, yet! She's quite intrigued by the handsome, but mysterious Grant, too. Jami even gets Grant to go to church with her! He begins to enjoy meeting Jami there; where he begins to feel his soul yearning for the God he remembers from childhood. The tours of Murphy begin on the Nantahala River........and go on from there......to dinners and other places around town. The more that they do together; well, the charms of each begin to tantalize the other. However, does true love ever run smoothly from beginning to end? Of course not! Will Jamie convince Grant that his Estate is worth saving from investors? Does the NYC lawyer fall for the nature loving Jami? Will the good-hearted people of Murphy be able to help the course of love along between these two? Or, will they only cause interference?
This is a beautiful and heart-warming story! The characters are so pleasurable that they will captivate you! I truly appreciated this inspirational romance, and I know that you will, too. This book is also definitely suitable for the YA reader. ENJOY!!

This was a family drama I just loved but in a very different way. Jami Carlisle was born and raised a faithful Christian girl in the small town of Murphy, North Carolina. From the age of eight, her mother raised her single-handedly.
You see her father was an alcoholic and her mom said, ‘It’s us or the bottle.’ Well, sadly for Jami he chose the bottle. For two years she waited with hope that he would call or come home but that never happened. So, she hardened her heart and continued on.
When high school came and she dated and was hurt by guys or left she learned to hate her father. College and high school she had one friend slash boyfriend that they were on again off again but everyone in town just assumed they would marry. At the end of her Jr. year of college she was called home her mom was dying of breast cancer. Robert was there for her but he was not supportive of her dreams the way he used to be, there were more sarcastic digs, more put downs laced as jokes, that just weren’t funny.
So, when her mom passed and she went back to school. Robert would speak about getting married and she never corrected him because he had never really asked her so she just figured it was talk. Plus, she had school to finish, she was still trying to deal with her life and she was going to be coming back to a new job and moving back to her childhood home where her mother would no longer be. But his chit-chat kept her mind off her mom. But as time grew closer to coming home he was getting more amped up. She didn’t know what to do.
At the same time her next-door neighbor Mrs. Elizabeth McAllister had passed away at the rest home she had lived there for many years.
Her home was being left to a grandson no one really knew about. Grant McAllister a big-city lawyer from New York, New York. By the sound of it, he wanted to get in and get out by selling the place.
He never knew his grandparents and wouldn’t have cared too if they were alive. You see she didn’t know it but when his parents fell in love and found out they were having him, they got married. His grandfather got irate and disowned his father and wanted nothing to do with his son and new family. That night of their fight leaving his parents’ home Grant’s father was killed in a car accident before he was born.
He never got to meet his father and was told all his life how his grandparents never wanted to know him. Now Jami will start her new job at the newspaper on Monday and who does she need to interview? The hard-headed Grant himself. The man who does not talk to reporters since his very brutal divorce when they printed lies.
This story engulfs you very fast. With not only its humor but with-it heart wrenching tender moments of the hurt and pain. These two characters must face unpleasant truths dealing with their past that causes riffs yet they are able to walk through it together. I give this 5++++ stars. Provided by netgalley.com. To begin with I'll share my "take away" thoughts from this book. It seems to focus mainly on trust and lies. Relationships are built on truth and trust and when lies are present the foundational trust is lost.

I was excited to have the opportunity to review a book set in my beloved state of North Carolina. Tucked away in the mountainous area of Western North Carolina, the areas surrounding and in Murphy conjur up beautiful sites that travelers and native North Carolinians totally love. Mountains, streams, rivers with white water rafting, picnics, beautiful trees and wonderful fresh air and great folks to get to know.

Trust My Heart involves a young successful though "burned out" attorney visiting his deceased grandparents' home and estate which he has inherited. True, he could handle the disposition of this property without going there; but he wanted to see the place his father grew up. The father he never knew. The father who was estranged from his parents and therefore the son, Grant, was kept from a relationship with the grandparents.

Upon arriving there, he meets a sweet, young lady who is a newspaper journalist and Grant detests journalists. So even though their association seems frought with mindfields from the onset, it seems that they are drawn together despite their differences.

I enjoyed the story and the book. I found Grant's reactions to some situations a bit over-the-top when a bit of time and explanation would have cleared the air and made for better outcomes. However, the author was presenting Grant with all his flaws, so that's o.k., too.

There was a bit of romance which was safe and clean and also predictable. Well, with a title like "Trust My Heart" you'd expect a bit of falling in love. Grant though a believer, did not seem to be a Christian - at least not a commited or faithful Christian. Jami is a devoted Christian.

This is a new author and a new publishing group for me. I look forward to reading more from Carol J. Post and more publications from Waterfall Press.

I typically like some mystery and suspense, but this story grabbed my attention from the start with the descriptions of the setting and the currents flowing between certain characters. The area sounds much like where I live with the rivers and hills and valleys. With all the nice restaurants, I started wishing I could be there right now. Maybe I will wait until Jami realizes her dream of owning a bed and breakfast, but that seems like a very distant, if ever, possibility. Although Jami is the leading lady, Bernie adds tremendously to the story. I cannot say if I have ever met anyone exactly like her. She is a matchmaker extraordinaire, even if most of her attempts are flops. Her personality, flamboyant clothing and hair, boisterous voice, and rambunctious laughter would make her stand out anywhere. She clearly keeps things lively. I was uncertain about Jami’s boyfriend in the opening pages of the book, but was really glad to see her cut him loose. He was certainly no winner. When Grant walked into the story, he had a few things going for him, but a lot to learn. Whether he learns anything or not remains to be seen. I appreciated the fact that Jami sought to keep her distance upon learning that he did not practice the same faith that meant so much to her. Something about that old mansion he had inherited was both appealing and intimidating. I loved this story which could have gone in several different directions. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

Carol Post is another new-to-me author but the description and book cover beckoned so I accepted the invitation to review “Trust My Heart”. Inside its pages I found a well written story filled with interesting characters, a strong plot, and a few surprises.

“Trust My Heart” is one of those mostly feel good, small town love stories but of course both primary characters have unresolved issues that they manage to help each other overcome. Jami is a sweet and positive young woman with a dream. She wants to be the best journalist she can be and is determined to succeed with her first big assignment for the local newspaper. Her article is to feature the McAllister estate and its heir, grandson Grant who just wants to sell the place and get back to his life. He is definitely not interested in learning about the grandparents he grew up believing did not want him.

I enjoyed how this story evolved complete with misunderstandings, secrets revealed, and of course a big dose of romance. I loved the setting of the Smoky Mountains and could easily envision some of the scenes. “Trust My Heart” was everything a good Christian romance should be. I look forward to reading more from this author.

The first book in the series takes the readers to Murphy, North Carolina, a small southern town where everyone knows you and your secrets , or so they believe.
Jami Carlisle is one of the townspeople. Freshly out of college with the goal of becoming a reporter, and a hidden dream of writing a book, is given her first assignment as a reporter of the local newspaper. Meet and write an article about Grant McAllister . Grant, a NYC lawyer, has inherited the home of his grandparents. People who turned their backs to him and his mother when his father died. A man that was disowned when he married a woman below their means. All Grant wants is to sell the house , start his leave of absence from his stressful job, and leave town. Whom he never expected to turn his life upside down was Jami.
As these two deal with personal obstacles and misunderstandings, and discover a past Grant nothing of, we also see them struggling with forgiveness, faith, trust in God and His love for each of us.
This was a touching , clean, Christian romance that though not preachy, reminds us of the importance of God in our lives.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Litfuse in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

Trust My Heart by Carol J. Post was a sweet story. If I am honest, this book isn’t very memorable to me. I enjoyed it, but it was so much like so many other books I have read. There was nothing that made this book memorable to me which I hate saying because it was nothing special for me I know that other people will totally love this book. I did enjoy this book, and it was a sweet story, but it just doesn’t stick out in my mind. I finished this book a few days ago, and I already have trouble remember much about this book other than that it was sweet and well written. I would be willing to read more books by this author, but this book just didn’t stick out to me. If you love chick lit books, I would give this one a chance and see what you think. If you have read this book what, did you think of it?

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. Trust My Heart is a clean Christian themed novel. It does not preachy at you. Set in a small town of Murphy NC.
Jami has just returned home to a job at the town newspaper. She gets her first assignment to interview Grant who has inherited the property that connects to hers. He wants to sell the property and that is his sole reason for being in town.
Jami discovers things about Grant's family that he doesn't know.
Grant has relationship problems, a busted marriage and a grandmother that didn't want him but yet left her estate to him.

Grant gives Jami two weeks to convince him not to sell the property to someone that wants to destroy it for Gold. Can she do It? Get the book and find out you will be glad you did.

I listened to the audio version. The narrator sounded like a teenager sometimes so that was a little odd.

I liked aspects of this book - the setting, the variety of characters, etc., but some things were just off. At the beginning, it said that the main character and her boyfriend were together 8-9 years. Later a list of her old boyfriends was recounted. It felt like all the blame was put upon the guy with no responsibility on her.

The main male character pulled the leaving-without-talking act three times. Clearly he wasn’t ready for a relationship and for their story to end as it did was just premature and very questionable.

There were parts to the story that I liked, but the actual romance part was just very odd and not what I’d want for my daughters or son to do one day. I would hope they’d be more respectful of others and discuss things, not jump to conclusions or think the worst of a potential mate.

Sweet story about a journalist and a lawyer, both struggling with the hurt of childhood abandonment and feeling of not being loved or wanted. Jami is a wonderfully positive character trying to make her way with the local news service. Grant returns to Murphy, NC to clear out an inheritance he doesn't want and using travel to outrun the hurts that haunt him. He and Jami both struggle with their pasts, but Grant lets his past define him where Jami choses to move beyond her past and live joyfully. I love Jami's capable, strong, and forgiving character. She's a rock in comparison to Grant's inconstant trust. Overall a well written story with depth, humor, adventure, and a gradually building romance.

Trust My Heart by Carol J. Post is a captivating romance that reminds readers that truth sometimes turns out to not be truth and that forgiveness is possible. Jami is a red-headed, spunky reporter who has been assigned to interview the handsome, citified lawyer who has breezed into town to settle his grandparent's estate. Threading a little humor and faith with a few twists and turns, the author brings a quick-moving and interesting story to the written page. A story about dreams, friends, misunderstandings, broken families and love amidst it all.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. A favorable review was not required and opinions are my own.

What a great story! I was drawn in first by the setting since it was in NC (where I live) but as I read the book, I got caught up in the lives of all the characters - not just the main ones. The story focuses on Grant and Jami. Grant is in town to sell his grandparents estate. Jami is a reporter trying to get a story. As they get to know each other and discover how life has brought them to this point, they draw closer. But several misunderstandings get in the way and you can't help but cheer them on to get past all of this. I received an advance copy from the author but all opinions are my own.

Review of Cape disappointment WA by Leslie Gould & Elizabeth Ludwig. Two stories in one book about the same town. Grandchildren of the 1st story people are in 2nd one. Julia Warren is the neice of Uncle who keeps the lighthouse. When she arrives a day early she finds things aren't as they should be. Suspicion, false accusations and more. See if you can figure out who dunit. Romance near end. In Second story Marnie is about the Graham Clan. What tales are true and what aren't. People remember things and aren't happy. Who wants Luc gone? Both stories keep you moving forward. Really enjoyed the first one most.

The author did a good job of tying in Christian faith in practice with realistic situations. I wish the story would've taken a bit more time to develop the connection between Jamie and Grant because it almost seemed unrealistic at times how quickly they fell for one another. And the ending, although cheesy Hallmark-esque was really cute. Overall, a good book for romance lovers who love a book with meaning and a happy ending.

I’d picked this book up from Audible years ago. I’m a big fan of Carol’s Love Inspired suspense books so when I came across this one I was fairly sure I’d enjoy it too. I’m happy to say I did. It’s a good story and I’m thrilled that Carol is rereleasing this book along with new stories to go along with this one. This was a good story-Jamie and Grant both have family struggles and baggage to work through to find a happily ever after and it’s a great read watching them do just that.
