Belvedor and the King's Curse by Ashleigh Bello is the sequel to The Belvedor Saga. It immediately picks up after the first book with Arianna and her friends making it out of their journey of freedom. But not all comes easy. They are wanted for high treason against the King. Now they must figure out how to stay hidden and try to live their new lives peacefully.

The Good
In this exciting installment of The Belvedor Saga , we get a huge expansion on all areas of the story. Plot, characters, world, and magic system! I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read it.

My biggest highlight overall was the writing mixed with the advancement of the plot. Ashleigh's writing has improved tremendously which added to the vivid and beautifully written descriptions, and fantastic dialogue between characters. I could really feel the emotions Arianna and her friends were feeling and I was vastly intrigued with all the new information we received

Arianna displays monumental growth in the King's Curse and she's beginning to grow on me. We know her as the brave and tough fighter from the Warrior's District in the Four Corner's, but now we get to see her take on a more leadership role which weigh's heavily in the back of her mind. She doesn't want her friends to come into harms way and will do anything to make sure that doesn't happen.

I loved the history lesson we get about the magic system and the origins of it. The time and thought it must have taken Ashleigh to build this world really shows. Especially with the back stories of our adult characters like Kassime, Cyn and Solomon.

There is still so much more story to be told and I can't wait to see what happens next!
The Bad

No story can ever be perfect and that is okay.

For one, I felt like there was a lack of development with the side characters. Especially Arianna's friends, Lessa, Jeom, and Demetrius. I was very saddened when they took a back seat to the story this time around. I was looking forward to more from them, but we got very little in that department.

On one hand I like that there is barely any romance in the King's Curse, but on the other, it wouldn't hurt either. I feel an added romance between characters could further help them develop into stronger characters. It also helps with getting the reader to become more emotionally attached to certain characters as well.

I highly recommend that you guys check out Belvedor and the Four Corners, the first book in T he Belvedor Saga ! You won't regret it.

The adventures in this sequel make you feel like the fun is just beginning. There were so many unexpected twists and turns, not to mention plenty of character development. Personally I thought it was interesting to see each person developing and evolving out of their 'slave' mentality. As described in the sequel to The Four Corners, there are endless possibilities once Arianna and her friends are granted their freedom and no longer have to answer to anyone. It was hard to put the book down! I can't wait to see what new world Ms. Bello has up her sleeve for book 3!

Sacrifice sucks

Arianna has many things to learn in life still, but she has the courage to keep going. She has found a family in her friends that she is protective of to her her along the way. Watching these characters grow and the excitement they go through kept me hooked. Now on to book three.

Magical adventure.
Go on a long, unpredictable adventure in this original story with great world building. Four wonderful characters will learn, grow and get stronger. Then everything takes a turn and they realize there is so much more to learn, experience and protect. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

This book picks off right where book one ends. It’s fast-paced, with lots of twists and turns. And the writing style is much more improved from the first book. Once I got to the last 100 pages, I couldn’t stop reading! I hope to enjoy book 3 even more.

The pacing of this book compared the first one slowed down, but I feel that it was important in order to grasp all of the information and back story given to the reader.
The MC's are starting a very important part of their journey, so they need to be as cautious as possible. They also meet a lot of new characters that are crucial to the story as well.
The ending... of Belvedor and the King's Curse... shew..
Took me a little bit longer to read this one, but I still really enjoyed it and can't wait to devour the rest of the series.
