What does God think of His creation? Does it make any difference to you and me? He gave creation to His children. It's ours to enjoy, and we're getting a new heaven and earth someday. So does it really make any difference how we treat his creation now? It’s an important question. Unfortunately the topic has been spoiled by polarized opinions, controversial science, and political agendas. If it really does make a difference in God's eyes, there must be a positive way to tell that story. And that's exactly what Keep It Good It tells the story through parables. Using stories about familial struggles and successes, teenage escapades, tragic mistakes, historical figures, and updated versions of literary pieces, Keep It Good will open your eyes to how Christians are missing the mark when it comes to God’s creation and provide practical suggestions for how to get there. After all, how would you want your children treating your creation?
Hello! I live with my husband and two children in Suwanee, Georgia and work full time as an Assistant Professor of Middle Grades Education at the University of North Georgia.
I taught seventh grade Live Science for four years before going back to graduate school for a PhD in Science Education at the University of Georgia.
It was in those grad school days that God called me to use my education and experience to write a book on creation care: A book that would break through environmental apathy and partisan noise to show Christians His simple yet beautiful message of creation stewardship.
KEEP IT GOOD is my first book, but I have several others in the works on humility, spiritual warfare and other topics.
I won this in a GOODREADS giveaway - Keep It Good: Understanding Creation Care Through Parables by Lindsay Linsky.... it was a very good read. I will share this with someone who will appreciate this book.
The author provides an engaging perspective on creation care. Parables shared by Linsky offer a refreshing and thought-provoking read that keeps the audience engaged, page after page. The book is very well-written and presented.
Keep It Good: Understanding Creation Care Through Parables byLindsay Linsky...a quick read at only 180 pages but not a read you just want to zoom through because of that. It's a book that you take time with. A book that you go through over and over again...I used my time reading this book as I was going through some struggles in my life. I used this book along with my own meditations and faith studying. I'm glad I did.
A unique format..adding the parables so that we have more to ponder through out the chapters....made for an engaging read. It's just a lovely, thought-provoking, and convenient book overall. It gave me much to consider and because of that much to talk about with others. Easily a book that I will recommend and share. Creation care...it's really something to be understood no matter what faith you worship.
Thanks as always to the wonderful people here on goodreads and to Lindsay Linsky for my free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review to which I gladly and voluntarily gave and will continue to give on other sites where this book is sold.
So the question is what else can be said about creation care that hasn't already been said? The answer is a lot. Welcome Dr. Lindsay Linsky to the creation care conversation. This fresh, thoughtful and very spiritual book is just a great inspiration. Lindsay takes a new look at the Biblical call to care for God's creation. With illustrative "parables" starting off each chapter, Lindsay walks the readers through how the parables are a reflection of God's call to care for creation. Not only that, she has such a unique perspective on how she explains the call to care for God's creation. I would just turn a page and say wow! The insight is really worth the read. All the solutions might have been stated before but it is the lens that she sees the topic which brings such great perspective.
I am a newly commissioned Earthkeeper with the United Methodist Church. I was looking for a book for a Creation Care class at my church - this is it! It includes a good in depth discussion of the biblical basis for caring for God's world. I am sure it will serve as a good launching point for many engaging discussions.
