This book was a great book and was different than what I was expecting it to be. I knew the topic was interesting to me but the journey the Eichhorn family went on was a lot different than I was expecting. The author wrote this to inform and entertain me. Let me learn more about the Nazis and World War I. The theme of this book is to do whats right. Even if the majority are doing something very wrong don't fall into peer pressure. Always do the right thing. This book was very well written and interesting to me. The story is just so good and intriguing to me because I loved learning about World War I last year in class. The writer told us a story about the Eichhorn family and proved that what they did was the right answer. This book was a very detailed description. It gave strict details and told a great story. I liked this book very much, although it was very long I was always wanting to read more. This book reminds me of the books I read last year during our WWI unit. I loved the story and I thought the author did, James Forman, did a great job.
