Sophie has always been curious, especially when it comes to sex. She finds the perfect partner at the infamous Sexquerade Ball. After one night of exquisite pleasure, she thinks she can walk away. Then MacAllister Kincaid strolls into his uncle's private library and her world turns upside down. She doesn't know if she can keep donning her disguise and continuing their anonymous affair, especially when she's falling in love with Mac while he's panting after her alter ego.
Mac is in town to help his hospital bound uncle, and to take a break from running his family's hotel chain. He went to the Sexquerade Ball on a lark and ended up having the best sex of his life. He's convinced the mysterious Scarlet is the woman he has to have. So why is it that pretty librarian Sophie Pierson is making him crazy?
If Mac finds out about her game, Sophie's sure he'll toss her aside for someone more socially appropriate. But Mac's about to show her that sometimes fantasies can become realities, both in and out of bed. Flesa Black is a married thirty-something mother of two. She lives near Atlanta, Georgia, where she is lucky enough to frequently enjoy Braves baseball games and tours of antebellum plantations and historic homes, including Margaret Mitchell’s house. Flesa has always been a determined writer ever since she learned how to hold a pencil. She particularly enjoys romance genres and the freedom they give her to create interesting characters and intricate worlds. When she isn’t writing, you can find her reading romance and science fiction novels, playing numerous board and card games, wandering in the woods, and fishing. She is currently hard at work on her next book.
It wasn't bad. The insecurity was more about social class (upper middle class girl worried about not being good enough for rich guy... kinda boring to me). I'd rather it have settled on the actual weight stuff, though she was clearly not actually insecure about her weight given her attitude as Scarlet. I dunno, maybe the novelty of the genre is wearing off. (2.5 stars)
This was actually a pretty sweet read. There was a lot of sex too. Their first meeting seemed really really unlikely to me I think Mac is possibly one of the sweetest Heroes Ive ever read, he was awesome. Sophie irked me a little at times

Take a storyline including a librarian (which, as a librarian myself I have a weakness for) - Add the boss-employee love storyline (which I also have a weakness for, although I have never been in any way attracted to previous bosses...), and what do you get? A match made in heaven. I really enjoyed this book, mainly for the aforementioned favorite storylines...
3.5 Stars. I love reading books that have a masquerade in them, and this was no exception. The only reason this lost .5 of a star is because Sophie at the end drove me nuts. I wanted to take her and shake her. I still get grumpy thinking about it. Grrr. LOL
Sweet story, it always makes me think of Cinderella. I like so many parts of this book, when each of them are talking to their parents, and especially the party.
