3,5 Me gustó bastante la historia.

Le premier chapitre me faisait craindre une série très clichée, qui avance trop vite sans vraiment approfondir quoique ce soit, mais après la lecture complète il s'avère que c'était un parti pris intéressant, donner les bases d'un background pour le developper un peu plus par la suite.
Alors certes on ne parle pas d'un lore complexe, mais on se retrouve vite avec un contexte à la Buffy vs Supernatural mais qui est finalement plutôt intéressant.
On aimerait finalement bien continuer de suite les personnages, en apprendre plus sur leurs choix, cela fait finalement un très bon setup d'un univers qui pourrait être très complexe.
Amis de RPG, nous avons une base d'univers pour teenager très interessant.
Le petit plus reste le travail de Manapul et de ses coloristes. Le rendu est très propre, visuellement très coloré et vraiment agréable à suivre. On se prend même à faire quelque poses pour admirer une page ou une vignette.
Bref, pas la série du siècle, mais plutôt une bonne surprise.

I picked this up because it had a Buffy The Vampire Slayer feel to it. I wasn't wrong, but this is worlds different and is not comparable.
Necromancer follows a teenage girl who finds she can communicate with the dead, an ability that she really doesn't get to focus on much due to the fact that the dead are her friends and parents who have just been brutally murdered by a demon she accidentally summoned during bible study (as one does). Cue the relocation and reinvention, the centuries-old mysterious guide and benefactor and a new threat.
I thought the story was well told, nicely illustrated and interesting. My only issue was that, despite all that goes on here, I'm left unsatisfied. Hopefully book 2 will feel more meaty. "Goes to look for book 2* What? Why is there no book 2? We need a book 2!

- Ты уже столько раз пытаешься заставить меня покончить с собой? А не проще было просто взять и убить меня?
- Ты была еще не готова.
- Откуда тебе знать? А сейчас? А сейчас я готова?
Она берет с пола один из зеркальных осколков и быстрым движением прокалываете себе кожу на запястье. Демон выступает из темноты и смотрит на то, как на камни капает ее кровь.
- Не исключено. Позволь мне проверить. Позволь мне испить твою душу досуха, как это произойдет сейчас с твоей кровью.
Она смотрит на собственные руки.
- Глубже. Еще глубже, - настаивает он, поднимаясь у нее за спиной.
Она нажимает на осколок, и он еще глубже погружается в ее плоть. Она стоит перед разбитым зеркалом и вспоминает о том, как все это только начиналось. Два месяца назад в средней школе Колорадо-Спрингс, когда ее еще звали Абигейль ван Олстин. Когда она еще оставалась дочерью пастора и капитаншей группы чирлидерш. Белой костью и голубой кровью, которую любила и ненавидела вся школа. Тогда два месяца назад одна глупая забава поставила на всем этом крест…
После завершения (если таковое вообще было) проекта “Witchblade” издательство TopCow сразу же приступило к разработке нового боевого брэнда. Требование к нему было только одно – героиней проекта должна была быть снова женщина. Пожеланий тоже не меньше – не мешало бы сделать героиню чуток моложе, а врагов – еще менее человечными. Так и появился проект “Некроментка”, легко укладываемый в простую формулировку “более мрачный и жестокий вариант Баффи”. Проект, надо сказать, очень симпатичный и вполне читабельный. Джошуа Ортега считает себя больше писателем, чем комиксистом – делайте из этого свои выводы.
Больше всего “Некромантка” похожа на нормальное аниме категории “а”. Еще забавнее выглядит это наблюдение на фоне информации о том, что по мотивам “Witchblade” сейчас выходит аниме от студии Gonzo. Таким образом, круг практически замкнулся. (2006.07.21)

This was a re-read for me. I originally read this story after purchasing it at Comic-Con last year.
The story is very dark and twisted, featuring sadistic demons, talking corpses, teen suicide, and one shaggy blonde mage.
It begins with Abigail and Berzelius, a demon who enjoys luring mortals into committing suicide. He forces Abigail to relive her worst moments, including the night that she first discovers her necromancy. It's a painful memory for Abigail because she inadvertently summons a demon that brutally murders her family and friends.
The remainder of the story covers the events that lead to Abigail's time with Berzelius.
The artwork is great, especially the cover by Greg Horn, and the story is interesting and unique. It held my attention long enough for me to finish it in one sitting. Would definitely read again.

I thought this comic was going in one direction and I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but by the end I was happy with what happened. I think it is an interesting story concept with a lot of possibilities, and I am curious to get to the next one. I like the way the story unfolded, with it going backward to go forward, and I think the art was extremely well done. It also had a great mystical element that was worked in smoothly, and developed strongly.

I wish I had the ability to give 1/2 stars on here. This was a solid 3 1/2 stars for me.
