This is the 28th book I read by Emily Woods. I loved ❤ this book's storyline. I loved ❤ the Christian theme in this story. I loved ❤ Malcolm's character. I loved ❤ Dan's character. I felt sorry for Lily. I didn't really care for Fran, she had to grow on me. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Woods.

“Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it.”
Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember
Francine Caruthers is in trouble. Her husband, Amos had died a few years earlier, leaving her alone on their apple farm. Bad weather, poor crops, and a woman that was alone and probably over her head in work was about to lose the farm. In desperation, she writes to her niece in Texas.
The Adams family is growing by leaps and bounds. With all three sons happily marries and beginning their families, new Adams’ are arriving almost every year. When Malcolm hears of Francine’s plight, he doesn’t hesitate to offer her an invitation to come to San Antonio. As the only male Adams without a partner, the thought of a woman his age is very appealing.
This is the fourth and final book in this series. Like the others, it is both sweet and wholesome. Putting the four books into one would probably raise the overall rating; by changing the overall construction of the tale.
I don’t want to be nit-picky and over-critical, but the author seems to have made a serious mistake in her characters. In the second book of the Brides for Brothers series, Mail Order Bride Mix-Up, Lily came out west to marry Daniel Adams. She was an orphan and grew up in a Catholic orphanage. In this book, Francine Caruthers is suddenly her aunt. I can only conclude that the author meant the niece to be Olivia Martin, the mail order wife of the oldest Adams’ boy, Benjamin. I did my best to overlook the blatant role changes, making it an unnecessarily slow and tedious read. Considering the many five-star reviews, the other readers either didn’t notice the discrepancies, or it didn’t bother them as much as it did (and does) me.

The good Lord works in mysterious ways!

There are hard times for all some just hide them better. Lily is no exception. Now her aunt has had it so hard and just when she is ready to give up the Lord provides a solution to the problem. A place to live and to feel needed. People who care about her and are so happy to have her. Will she find true happiness and recognize that the Lord is behind this? Just read this to see and understand how he helps even when faith wavers.

Bitter Widow

I enjoy just about all Mail Order Bride books. The women come with baggage but the endings are always happy. This book did not disappoint. So much had happened to Aunt Fran that she was unable to see the good side of people. Thanks to her love for niece and a difficult birth, she gradually finds happiness in her life.

This short, mail-order bride, romance series holds an interesting premise that shows promise. However, there wasn't enough time in each book for a build-up of the characters and plot, plus there was little to no depth. Unfortunately, there were some grammatical errors that caused some pause. I enjoyed the Christian aspect, interesting storylines, and that they were clean and wholesomeness.

The father and four sons were stunned after their mother passed away suddenly, leaving them without anyone who knew how to cook or keep the books for the farm. They needed help desperately. The father's idea to get help was to request a mail-order bride. Each story reflects how with faith in God, all things will all work out.

I agree with many other readers that these four books should have been combined as one book. The overall rating would be much higher in that case and the assurance of reading them in order would be more prevalent, keeping the reader in the know.

BOOK 1 - Mail Order Bride: Tricked Into Love (Ben and Oliva)
I accessed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program.
Ben was the eldest son and volunteered to get married to help save the family farm. Olivia left New York, where she was forced to work three jobs to be able to afford a tiny apartment. Ben and Olivia begin their relationship tumultuously. She demonstrates that she has courage, she is charming, and she can cook! Unfortunately, she isn't any better at numbers than Ben.

BOOK 2 - Mail Order Bride: Mix-Up (Dan and Lily)
I accessed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program.
Dan, the youngest son, was the next brother to send away for a bride. Catherine was from a well-born family down on their luck and wished to enter a marriage as partners only. Lily was an orphan unable to support herself and was anxious to become part of the family, who came out west to marry. This marriage actually resulted due to a mix-up in the intended bride thanks to brother, Caleb. Unfortunately, Lily is not able to tackle the bookkeeping for the ranch either.

BOOK 3 - Mail Order Bride: A Convenient Proposal (Caleb and Catherine)
This book was purchased through Amazon LLC. Is the third time a charm? The middle son, Caleb, approaches Catherine for marriage, since she already agreed to become part of the family and handle the bookkeeping part of the ranch as a business arrangement only. Will Caleb and Catherine find they are well suited for marriage or remain just business partners?

BOOK 4 - Mail Order Bride: A Baby and the Bitter Widow (Malcolm and Francine)
I accessed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program. I enjoyed this series and getting to know the individual members of this growing family, but this book had a major flaw. When Lily came out west, she let the family know that she never knew her family and was raised by nuns in a convent. Now she suddenly has an Aunt Francine that was like a second mother to her growing up. They invite her to come out west to live with them after she loses her farm. What gives?? It's a major blooper.

Finally, all the men in the family have a loving wife and they all share a faith in God. It was a great way to conclude the series!

I like the premise of the series though it could really have been one book broken into 4 parts with a bit more character development. The female characters were developed a little more than the male characters but not by much. I ended up not really liking the father through all of the books and the sons came off kind of stupid. I get that they weren't super educated but they felt more like slow-witted characterizations instead of men who had grown up running a ranch their entire lives. Overall, the entire series is a really fast read with some sweet moments.

I enjoyed this, though I did find it a bit slow going, but good nonetheless. Good character and nice and clean.

I was disappointed with this book. In the previous book Lily was a orphan and raised by nuns. Now she has an aunt. Mrs Woods stories are good and wholesome this included just disappointed.
