5 ‘We had it all’ stars!
There is something about reading a story about two characters when you already know how things will turn out… the entire time I was reading I was just waiting. A little terrified of what was going to happen. Abbi Glines wrote Kiro’s Emily as a free novella for her fans. And in my opinion, it happens to be some of her best work. My heart was broken and I cried a river at the end, but I loved this little novella so much!
If you are a Rosemary Beach fan, you know that Kiro and Emily are Harlow’s parents. Their story starts in 1992. When Emily was just a sweet and innocent 20 year old college student, and Kiro Manning was an up and coming rising star. Slacker Demon is starting to take off big time. Emily is no groupie, but she follows her cousin around with the band for a short time. There, she and Kiro form a bond.
Emily and Kiro actually begin a friendship before anything else. Kiro sees how innocent and good Emily is and he doesn’t want to destroy that. He just can’t stay away from her. No matter what girls throw themselves at him, none of them are good enough. None of them are Emily.
This story was so sweet, so beautiful and so HEARTBREAKING. There was a point at the very end when I was reading in bed that my husband had to look over and tell me it was okay, that these weren’t real people (he just doesn’t understand ;) ) I just loved it so much. Even though people who have read the series will know the ending to Kiro and Emily’s story, it’s such a great read. I recommend it to anyone who loves Abbi’s Rosemary Beach series.

I was always so empty and cold without you.”More than anything, I loved watching the changes in Kiro. It’s amazing what being loved by the right person can do to you. Emily and Kiro had that once in a life time kind of love. The kind that doesn’t come around twice. She saw something in him that he lets no one else see. The Kiro you think you know from the earlier RB books is not the real Kiro. He’s not Emily’s Kiro.
The world loved him. No, that was wrong. The world didn’t know him. They thought they loved him, but the man underneath was so much more. They had no idea.
This story was so sweet, so beautiful and so HEARTBREAKING. 4–Heartbreakingly Good–Stars
Alert: This book is not a standalone. In order for this novella to make sense, Take a Chance needs to be read first.
Kiro's Emily is a free novella Abbi Glines wrote as a special holiday treat for her fans. It's the heartbreaking backstory of Kiro, a rock star icon, and the love of his life, Emily, who are the parents of Harlow from Take a Chance.
As heartbreaking as I knew this novella would be, it was also quite beautiful. I loved seeing the irreverent and crude Kiro fall in love with the sweet and positive Emily. He treated her with such love, respect and adoration that I couldn't help but fall in love with him. That's huge, considering his character has been less than lovable and kind of sleazy throughout the series.
For a love story with such a tragic outcome, it ended on a sweet, almost uplifting note. I closed this book with a heavy heart but also a smile on my face.

5 *BREAK MY HEART* Stars
WOW! I had a feeling that this would be good, but Abbi Glines you exceeded my expectations! This is a short novella that was free had all the ingredients of the tale of the sweet girl falling for the manwhore lead singer rock star story with a heart breaking ending. Hands down this book is the BEST OF THE SERIES to date for me.
Emily accompanies her slutty cousin, Sonya to follow Slacker Demon from town to town to keep an eye on her. She has remained in the background of the after concert debauchery until one night the band members notice her.
”She ain’t acting, man. She blushed and stammered and went into a panic when I told her I wanted to eat her pussy. This innocent shit is fucking real.”
Kiro and Emily’s attraction and scenes together were hot and swoon worthy and Emily was so lovable!! The hardest part was knowing how this story was going to end because they truly loved one another and I felt it. They fall into a friendship that explodes into so much more.
”I had never had an angel, and fuck, I wanted one. This one. I wanted to fuck some angel pussy.”
I loved how Emily bridged the gap between Kiro and Mase as well as being wonderful with little Rush!
Even though fans of the series know what happens in the ending since this is a story placed in the past, it will still completely gut you. I’m sobbing on my Kindle and I’m not easily brought to tears.
”Love you more,” he replied, and kissed my head. “Always love you more.”

I told myself I wouldn't do this, and yet here I am. I deserve every single little feel that got sent my way because I had promised myself that I wouldn't read this book. I even tweeted the author and received this cryptic reply:

But then I read Jennifer's review, and then I saw that this book was free, and then I discovered that I am a masochist and I read it.
For those of us familiar with the Rosemary Beach books, we are all familiar with Kiro and Emily's story and it's tragic end. As I said before, when I first learned we would get a book I knew there was no way I was going to read it and like it. Boy was I wrong. Kiro and Emily have quite possibly one of the more beautiful stories that Ms. Glines has written. With novellas it's often difficult to fully develop characters or make a love believable, but it certainly was believable in this book. While it was still a little too much instalove for my taste, I understand that there are so many pages an author has with a short story.
I will say, I thought I would cry more after reading the end. While it wasn't a sobbing tear jerker for me, my eyes did water a little bit. Maybe. Or maybe they watered a lot. It doesn't matter.
So for all of you who are hesitant to pick up this book, (I can't believe I'm saying this after all my previous doubts and reservations) I think this is an Abbi Glines that will stick with you for a long time. In a good way. And a crying way.

When I read Grant and Harlow's books and found out about Harlow's Mom and Dad, I always wondered how they got together and what all had happened. I'm so happy that AG wrote this novella and we get to read their story and she was so sweet to give it to us for free! (thank you!)
And boy was their story sweet! Of course, when Kiro first sees Emily, he knows he has to have her! Emily has already been a huge fan as she's been following the band around with her cousin, who is definitely a groupie, but things are too over the top for Emily and she wants to leave.
That doesn't stop Kiro from finding out more about her but he's a little freaked too. He doesn't know what to do with the feelings he is experiencing and quite frankly, he's a little taken back by Emily not falling in his lap. I loved how they became friends while Kiro was on tour and that their relationship was more of a slow build.
It took Kiro a bit to decide to go after Emily. I think that was the only mark against him...that he didn't stop being with other women especially Nan's Mom. (ugh)
Luckily, he did get his act together and came up with a plan to get Emily with him and it worked, of course! Emily only fought it a little because she was in love with him too.
One of my favorite things was Emily with Rush and Mase. I really got a kick of seeing those guys as little kids...especially "Wush" and how he calls her Emmy. And Dean with Rush was really adorable too.
It was really sweet how gentle Kiro was with Emily. I always hate how most first times are handled but this one was really tender. I loved seeing that side of Kiro! And I loved how he called her "Angel".
The two downfalls of this book are the length (why are the good ones always so short?) and knowing the outcome (so far anyway). We can only hope there will be some good news in the future!

Oh my lord, what a book and it was a baby book at that. This little novella broke my freaking heart and the best part is I knew it was coming. I knew how things went down, but still reading it tore me apart.
The story begins in the 90’s with Kiro and Emily meeting backstage. Emily was there with her cousin and felt completely out of place. While trying to escape she catches Kiro’s eye and there is just something about her. While things start out completely physical, Kiro backs off and they become friends because he knows she deserves to be more than a one night stand.
Kiro finishes out his tour and when we comes back he stakes a claim on Emily and decides he isn’t letting her go. Their story continues and even in just the few short pages of this story I could feel their love. It was a forever kind of love, a love that transforms people.
So why 5 stars, especially when it is a story I already knew the outcome to. Well, this story had me smiling and swooning over how sweet it was, I loved watching Kiro change and even the moments with Dean and little Rush. It had me fanning myself with Kiro and his dirty talk, we all know I love an AG sex scene. As embarrassing as it is to admit it, this story has completely wrecked me. It had me balling my eyes out and feeling a loss.
If you have been reading the Rosemary Beach Series, you have to read this. I promise it is worth it.

Kiro and Emily's story is just so powerful and heartbreaking at the same time.
Like I was the only thing in the world that she wanted to see. She made me feel like a king.
I could definitely read a full novel about Kiro and Emily and then some, this seemed too short for their beautiful story but I'm glad it skipped the heartbreaking part cause that would have been way too much for me.

5 "I Will Always Only Love You" Stars!

Emily aka Emmy/Angel is a 20 yr. old woman from South Carolina. Her cousin is a groupie want-a-be for the band Slacker Demon, and drags Emily all over following the band on their tours. Emily is a sweet, innocent woman who isn't very experienced with men. But she also isn't blind. She has a little crush on the lead singer Kiro Manning, and he often stars in her private fantasies.
After a concert one evening in Chicago, Emily & her cousin attend an after party for Slacker Demon. Even though Emily is infatuated with Kiro, she would never act on it. He is known as the biggest man whore in the band, and is way too experienced for Emily. She wants a nice normal white picket fence kind of guy. The party proves to be too much for poor Emily's innocent eyes, & when she tries to leave the party Kiro spots her. One look at her stops him in his tracks. It is love at first sight. He is instantly entranced & under her spell.
The woman across the room is the most beautiful woman he'd ever laid his eyes on. She had the face of an angel, & he had to make her his. When Kiro sees things aren't going to turn physical, they become close friends, & begin talking on the phone. Kiro will take whatever she is willing to give him. He is completely different with Emily. Eventually the friendship turns into more, and she is the most real thing in his life. He becomes possessive and she consumes his heart. She is it for him. She also cares deeply for Kiro, & makes him feel like he's worth something. She gives him the love he's never had.
So OMG, this novella was perfection!!! This is probably my favorite couple in this whole series. The love between this couple is so beautiful! I loved how gone Kiro was for her. He has such a deep, special love for her, and his heart belonged to her from the beginning. This story really touched my heart & I'm so pleased Abbi Glines wrote this. I also loved getting Dean & Rush in the past. I would love a book for Dean. Also would like to beg for Abbi Glines to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring Kiro's angel back to him! :D

I wanted to like it more, but the fact that I hated almost every character in the story had it's consequence.
Let me tell you what this story is about from my perspective.
Kiro is a lead singer of the most popular bend at the time. He is really hot and really full of himself. He's also really shallow and the biggest chauvinist I have ever came across in the book (and in the real life as a matter of factly).
Let me quote some of his thoughts or sentences he said:
"That one was mine. I might even fuck this one twice before I was done."
"Her pussy wouldn't be overused. I bet it was tight."
Here's how he speaks to the woman who's probably pregnant with his child: "I never would have touched your used-up pussy without protection." - He has no respect for women, and what is that "overused pussy" all about anyway? I wonder if he thinks that using brain could also lead to overusing it?

Emily, on the other hand, is oh so innocent, Mary Sue all the way. She doesn't know how to protect herself even when her cousin is bashing her in front of her, and she doesn't mind when people are talking about her as she's an object and if they treating her that way as well.
And yeah, of course she's a virgin!
Her cousin Sonya is a whore ('cause what kind of NA story would be without one) who needs to be, quoting: bitch slapped.
I am so tired of whore shaming female characters in NA books, while at the same books male whores are looked at with admiration.
And I am sick of all those beautiful virgins in their twenties who don't do shit but always get the hottest guys, while their "whorish" friends are putted aside or out of the story.
I also hated the message this novella gave us.
In my opinion, women are not objects, it is not okay to be in a relationship with an obsessive guy who is treating you like his property, who says things like: You are only mine, I'm not letting anyone touch that thing. Who obviously wants to have you under his control.
I never got an impression Kiro was really in love with Emily. I got an impression he was in love with himself having her, being her first and only and having her under control.
Although I didn't like this novella, I know a lot of people enjoy Abbi Glines' work so I'm not ready to give up on her just yet.
I already own her book Because of Low and will give this one a try before making any conclusions about her as an author.
After all, I did like her writing style, I just hated the characters she created in this story.
Let me tell you what this story is about from my perspective.
Kiro is a lead singer of the most popular bend at the time. He is really hot and really full of himself. He's also really shallow and the biggest chauvinist I have ever came across in the book (and in the real life as a matter of factly).
Let me quote some of his thoughts or sentences he said:
"That one was mine. I might even fuck this one twice before I was done."
"Her pussy wouldn't be overused. I bet it was tight."
Here's how he speaks to the woman who's probably pregnant with his child: "I never would have touched your used-up pussy without protection." - He has no respect for women, and what is that "overused pussy" all about anyway? I wonder if he thinks that using brain could also lead to overusing it?

5 'Love you forever'Stars
We all know how Kiro and Emily's story end. If that's whats stopping you from reading this book well....READ IT. You know it's a good book when you can't stop thinking about it and this book is defiantly an AH.MAZE.ING book. It's gonna make you cry like a baby and makes you swoon.
I love Kiro. He is just so beautiful, inside and out. He loves Harlow and Emily unconditionally. This is true love. He didn't have that kinda love and that's what makes me love him more.
“Everyone leaves me. I’m no good. I’m not worth it.”
Emily is this sweet innocent thing you can't help but like her. She's just a sweetheart. She's truly is an Angle.
“I’m not leaving you. Ever. The only way to get rid of me is to throw me out and swear you never want to see me again. You, Kiro Manning, are worth it. You’re worth so much”
Then there was the Rush's parts. He liked ninja turtles...he played with Emily...he was scared when Kiro and Georgiana were fighting and my heart just CRACKED. he was this sweet thing and, oh god I can't believe I'm tearing up again.
And then the ending...I couldn't hold it in I sobbed like crazy. I couldn't help it. It's just...ugh (wiping the tears) this is just beautiful (tears falling)
“She may no longer be able to speak, and her body may no longer work the way it once did, but inside is my Emmy. She remembers all our adventures together. She knows that for a short time, we had it all.”
“I love you, Kiro Manning. Thank you for showing me the man no one else gets to see.”

Awww I really liked this one. Its been a while since I read an Abbi Glines book, they started to feel a bit samey so I decided to leave this series alone after book 5 or something. This was free, and was being advertised as a stand-alone so I thought I'd give it a go and I am pleased that I did because it was a really easy read that made me feel tingly and warm inside.
Kiro Manning is in the rock band Slacker Demon and loves the ladies (sluts) who frequent the backstage parties after the concerts. Emily ends up at one of these parties one night with her friend (I use that term loosely) and is totally out of her element. She is very innocent and a virgin of course, but also has a thing for Kiro, not only does she enjoy his music but she is extremely attracted to him.
Kiro is drawn to her, she is like his angel but when she turns him down he doesn't give up. Despite the chemistry, Emily doesn't want to go there and they become friends and keep in touch whilst he is travelling.
When Kiro returns from the bands World Tour, he decides to claim Emily once and for all.
Despite being a short novella, around an hour and a half, I was able to become connected to the characters and it was a nice touch to include little Rush with his mum and dad (Dean & the bitch). I teared up at the end - I really felt the love between these two and I was so sad to discover what happened :(.
I will most probably go back and read Harlow's story now.

Όσοι έχουν διαβάσει το Take A Chance/One More Chance γνωρίζουν είδη τον Kiro Manning και την ιστορία του. Με αυτήν την νουβέλα όμως μπορούμε να καταλάβουμε πως ξεκίνησαν όλα. Πως ο Kiro έπεσε στην αγάπη με την γλυκιά Emily που είχε μια τεράστια καρδιά. Λάτρεψα το πως γυρίσαμε 20 χρόνια πίσω από τα γεγονότα του Rosemary Beach. Λάτρεψα τους μικρούλιδες Rush, Mase και Harlow.

But inside is my Emmy. She remembers all our adventures together. She knows that for a short time, we had it all.

Unexpectedly heartwrenching. This novella is told in Kiro and Emily's point of view. Here, we get to read how their relationship blossomed.
I wasn't a huge fan of Kiro Manning because he's a manwhore until I get to read a brief story of what happened with the love of his life, Emily, in one of the books in Rosemary Beach series which messed him up. This novella changed my mind about him. I see the beautiful side of Kiro when he's with Emily. He's a kind and loving man. The last part truly breaks my heart for him, it's not a happy ending and despite of it, his love and devotion to Emily remains.

This was a short and sweet novella, telling the story of Harlow's parents, Kiro and Emily. The two were first introduced to us in 'Take A Chance', highlighting their tragic story. Knowing how things would end for these two, I listened to this story with a heavy heart, always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
When Kiro meets Emily he is drawn to her innocence. She is out of place at the after-party, clearly not like the groupies that would do anything for a night in his bed. He has to have her.
What started out as a challenge, quickly becomes more. Kiro becomes friends with Emily, calling her regularly after they part ways. When he gets worried that Emily might be dating somebody seriously, he steps in, offering her a job with him as the manager of his house. Really, he just wants to have her with him.
The two have a whirlwind romance. It was sweet, passionate and ultimately, heartbreaking. I fell in love with this couple when reading Harlow and Grant's story and they continue to tug at my heart. Despite the tragic ending, I thought this novella was fantastic. A great "extra" for fans of the Rosemary Beach series.

5 – Beautiful, Bittersweet, Heartrending – stars – Contemporary Romance
This poignant novella, which gives Rosemary Beach fans the backstory of Harlow’s parents, rock legend, Kiro Manning, and his one and only true and forever love, Emily, is Abbi Glines at her very best. It’s such a beautiful, emotional, sweet, and heartbreaking story. *sniffle* I absolutely loved it! I’d recommend reading Harlow’s books, Take a Chance and One More Chance, before this story to have complete understanding and better appreciation for it.
There are so many touching quotable lines/moments from this novella, but here are my most sigh-and-sob-worthy favorites.

Το ότι θα αγαπούσα τόσο πολύ τον Κίρο και την ιστορία του με την Έμιλυ δεν μπορούσα ποτέ να το φανταστώ. Το ότι επίσης θα έδινα 5 αστέρια σε αυτή την ιστορία ούτε στα πιο τρελά μου όνειρα, αλλά η Glines τα κατάφερε. Ο Κίρο και η Έμιλυ είναι πια ένα από τα πιο αγαπημένα μου ζευγάρια στο Rosemary και η ιστορία τους με εξίταρε, όσο και μου ράγισε την καρδιά (ναι έκλαιγα για μ��σή ώρα όταν το τελείωσα, το παραδέχομαι)…
Αρχίζοντας την ανάγνωση του Kiro’s Emily, όλοι μας γνωρίζαμε ποιο θα είναι το τέλος της ιστορίας, όπως το συναντήσαμε στο Take a Chance. Η Glines όμως κατάφερε να κρατήσει το ενδιαφέρον των αναγνωστών σε συνεχή έξαρση παράλληλα με την εξέλιξη της ιστορίας. Μου άρεσε που έμαθα πώς άρχισαν όλα και κατάλαβα πώς εξελίχθηκαν τα γεγονότα και λυπάμαι που πρέπει να παραδεχτώ ότι κάποιες φορές κρίνουμε τους ανθρώπους μόνο από αυτά που βλέπουμε εξωτερικά. Ναι είναι γεγονός ότι δεν είχα συμπαθήσει ποτέ τον Κίρο αν και τον συμπόνεσα στο Take a chance, αλλά εδώ τον λάτρεψα και μπόρεσα να κατανοήσω τη συμπεριφορά του και όλα όσα συνέβησαν στη συνέχεια. Η συγγραφέας με αυτή την ιστορία μας προκαλεί να κοιτάξουμε βαθύτερα και να αναρωτηθούμε πώς ορίζονται οι συμπεριφορές και πώς αυτές μπορεί να οδηγήσουν σε μια σειρά γεγονότων που επηρεάζουν τις ζωές πολλών άλλων. Μου άρεσε αφάνταστα που παρακολουθήσαμε τον Ρας, τον Μέις και τη Χάρλοου σε μικρή ηλικία, ήταν αξιολάτρευτοι και λυπάμαι πολύ που οι ζωές των δύο τελευταίων άλλαξαν καταιγιστικά από ένα τραγικό γεγονός.
Ο Κίρο και η Έμιλυ είναι αξιολάτρευτοι μαζί. Είναι τόσο ερωτευμένοι, τόσο παθιασμένοι, τόσο αγαπημένοι συνέχεια που κερδίζουν την καρδιά σου αμέσως και σε κάνουν να τους ερωτευτείς όλο και περισσότερο όσο προχωράει η ιστορία. Μου άρεσε η αλλαγή του Κίρο, ο ολοκληρωτικός έρωτάς του και το ότι είχε τη συναίσθηση εξ αρχής για το τι σημαίνει για αυτόν η Έμιλυ.
Επίσης λάτρεψα το γεγονός ότι μπόρεσα να αναγνωρίσω στην Έμιλυ, στοιχεία από το πνεύμα της Χάρλοου και αν στη συνέχεια ο Μέις θα μας δείξει ότι έχει πάρει οτιδήποτε από το πνεύμα του πατέρα του, πέρα από την ομορφιά του, ε τότε ανυπομονώ ακόμα περισσότερο.
Η όλη ιστορία ήταν πολύ καλά δομημένη, απίστευτα ισορροπημένη και με πλήθος συναισθημάτων να ξεχειλίζουν συνέχεια. Ναι πραγματικά ήταν από τα καλύτερα δείγματα της Glines για μένα.
Η Glines τελειώνει την ιστορία της αφήνοντας τον Κίρο να μας εξηγήσει τη διαφορά της αδελφής ψυχής από το να είσαι απλά ερωτευμένος και μας ραγίζει την καρδιά. Και είμαι σίγουρη αν υπάρχουν αδελφές ψυχές, κάπως έτσι λειτουργούν.

Δεν μπορώ να αποχωριστώ εύκολα το συγκεκριμένο ζευγάρι και σε αυτό το σημείο θα παρακαλέσω κι εγώ την Glines, μαζί με ένα γκρουπ αναγνωστών, να φέρει πίσω στον Κίρο τον άγγελό του…

Η συγγραφέας με αυτή την ιστορία μας προκαλεί να κοιτάξουμε βαθύτερα και να αναρωτηθούμε πώς ορίζονται οι συμπεριφορές και πώς αυτές μπορεί να οδηγήσουν σε μια σειρά γεγονότων που επηρεάζουν τις ζωές πολλών άλλων. Μου άρεσε αφάνταστα που παρακολουθήσαμε τον Ρας, τον Μέις και τη Χάρλοου σε μικρή ηλικία, ήταν αξιολάτρευτοι και λυπάμαι πολύ που οι ζωές των δύο τελευταίων άλλαξαν καταιγιστικά από ένα τραγικό γεγονός.
Ο Κίρο και η Έμιλυ είναι αξιολάτρευτοι μαζί. Είναι τόσο ερωτευμένοι, τόσο παθιασμένοι, τόσο αγαπημένοι συνέχεια που κερδίζουν την καρδιά σου αμέσως και σε κάνουν να τους ερωτευτείς όλο και περισσότερο όσο προχωράει η ιστορία. Μου άρεσε η αλλαγή του Κίρο, ο ολοκληρωτικός έρωτάς του και το ότι είχε τη συναίσθηση εξ αρχής για το τι σημαίνει για αυτόν η Έμιλυ.
Επίσης λάτρεψα το γεγονός ότι μπόρεσα να αναγνωρίσω στην Έμιλυ, στοιχεία από το πνεύμα της Χάρλοου και αν στη συνέχεια ο Μέις θα μας δείξει ότι έχει πάρει οτιδήποτε από το πνεύμα του πατέρα του, πέρα από την ομορφιά του, ε τότε ανυπομονώ ακόμα περισσότερο.
Η όλη ιστορία ήταν πολύ καλά δομημένη, απίστευτα ισορροπημένη και με πλήθος συναισθημάτων να ξεχειλίζουν συνέχεια. Ναι πραγματικά ήταν από τα καλύτερα δείγματα της Glines για μένα.
Η Glines τελειώνει την ιστορία της αφήνοντας τον Κίρο να μας εξηγήσει τη διαφορά της αδελφής ψυχής από το να είσαι απλά ερωτευμένος και μας ραγίζει την καρδιά. Και είμαι σίγουρη αν υπάρχουν αδελφές ψυχές, κάπως έτσι λειτουργούν.
But inside is my Emmy. She remembers all our adventures together. She knows that for a short time, we had it all.
Δεν μπορώ να αποχωριστώ εύκολα το συγκεκριμένο ζευγάρι και σε αυτό το σημείο θα παρακαλέσω κι εγώ την Glines, μαζί με ένα γκρουπ αναγνωστών, να φέρει πίσω στον Κίρο τον άγγελό του…

I can't say I was impressed by Kiro in Grant and Harlow's story and I also can still not see why he would lie to Harlow about her mother? Reading this story of how he met and fell in love with his Emily, This book lacked something. I know it's a Novella so a short story, but the author decided to miss out the part of Emily's accident and then skip to 20 years later. It didn't have much emotional impact and I know Kiro was not expected to live like a monk after Emily's accident but the fact he went back to his man whoring ways didn't impress me when we are told of how Emily is his 'angel' and the love of his life.

This book was such a beautiful, touching story about how a young, innocent small town girl captured the heart of a rock star and how her unconditional love and support changed that man forever. Kiro and Emily's story truly swept me off my feet as I got lost in the friendship and subsequent romance that flourished. It was heart warming and exciting and I loved the journey they embarked on, despite knowing how it would all end.
Told from dual POV, I was really able to understand the depth and intensity of the bond this couple shared. Their's was a love that most people can only dream of and as such, I finally understood the man Kiro had become. There was more to this man than I could have ever imagined when I first met him as the bad ass rockstar way back when. He had his reasons for the way he was and as much as I might not agree, I did finally get it.
Emily's character reminded me of Harlow and I could see that Harlow really did take after her mother. That quietness, shyness, naivety and innocence really shone through and I could completely see the resemblance... like mother like daughter and in the best possible way.
Despite only being a novella, I was so caught up in this love story that I didn't realise just how much Abbi Glines had managed to fit into this book until it was over. Never did it feel rushed and not once did the flow seem disjointed despite the story covering several years. In fact, each transition was seamless as this couple shared many a beautiful life changing moment together.
Abbi Gline, I'm so thankful you gave us "Kiro's Emily." It really helped to tie up loose ends and gave me an insight into not only Kiro and emily's history but also the history between Rush's parents and also Mace and his mother. Just a beautiful yet heart wrenching story that was a perfect addition to this story.

All of these books revolve around a man who sleeps with hundreds of women that finds a pure, virginal girl and gets off on that idea and then gets crazy possessive and doesn't even want another person to look at her. Then, of course, everyone has babies. Happily ever after (until it's not).
That is not romantic. That is saying women are only worth their virginity, which demonizes all the women these men slept with before, even though the men are also involved in it too. Then the man becomes so possessive that it borders on abusive, and I could easily see some of these relationships turn abusive. Kiro seems like he could've turned abusive if she hadn't died.
Who knows why I keep reading these books. They're all the same, and I guess I was a little delusional about it until this very short novella packed every single thing from the rest of the books into a couple hours read.

Oh Abbi, you have just broken my heart. Even though I knew what the outcome was going to be to Kiro’s Emily, I still cried for like the last 4 chapters and was wishing it would end differently. For anyone who has read any of the books in the Rosemary Beach series, then you are familiar with Kiro from the rock band Slacker Demon. We get bits and pieces of his story throughout the books, but we really get to know Kiro and his story in Take a Chance which was his daughter Harlow’s book. My heart broke when I read about the love of Kiro’s life Emily in that book, but actually reading how their love started and grows tore my heart out. They loved each other so much and we get to see a different side of Kiro we don’t really get to see in the other books and I love that side of him. Another part of Kiro’s Emily that loved was getting to see two year old Rush and a little Mase, both boys were so cute!! Seeing them at that age made me love them even more. What else can I really say about this book that I haven’t already, I loved it so much even if it broke my heart. This is a must read for any fan of the Rosemary Beach series.

It’s quick and a fast paced read.
4.5 stars✨ Kiro and Emily’s story is just that enjoyable typical rock star read, its short and to the point. However, I love Kiro and his possessiveness, but I think the last chapter choked me up abit.

I liked seeing the tender, loving side of Kiro. He always left a bitter taste in my mouth with all his womanizing ways. His love for Emily was/is sincere. My only criticism is that the story ended abruptly, not giving the reader a glimpse into what Kiro experienced during Emily’s tragedy.

The start of this had me wrinkling my nose in disgust, I could have done with the scenes of entitled and arrogant musicians going at it with groupies. Plus some of Kiro's thoughts when it came to the heroine (Emily) right at the start made me want to barf, e.g. That one was mine. I might even fuck this one twice before I was done.
Emily's cousin was horrid and I hated how Emily let her walk all over her.
Some sweet moments but they didn't outweigh the annoyance caused at the start and the fact some plot strands felt as they had been left adrift.

I loved this short story of Kiro and Emily. If you read "Take A Chance" and wanted to know more...anything more about that Kiro then this book helps answers some of those questions. That was the Kiro that blew me away when he was caring for Emily because all we've ever seen before that was the drunk, drug using, foul mouthed, obnoxious, rock star manwhore. And to see him do a 360 really blew me away and left me feeling conflicted and wanting.
This is the endearing story of how they met and how they started but most importantly how they feel so deeply in love and I loved reading every single word about them. I didn't want it to end even though we knew that it would end so very tragically!

This book was everything an more I couldn't wait 4 this book 2 come out I needed 2 get in2 kiros head an I wanted 2 know more about Emily
I luvd how the book started no messin about straight in2 how they meet seein how quiet Emily was thinkin she wasn't like them an she wasn't but seein how she got kiros attention was so good she had him wrapped around her finger from the first moment he saw her
Gettin 2 know kiro was good I think I luv him just as much as the other guys in this series an that hard he was so possessive of Emily straight away didnt want 2 leave her or her 2 go an in a weird way I liked it she is so innocent an he is just wild but she tamed him an no other woman could of done it
I just wish there was more 2 this story cause I luvd them 2gether they made a great couple an I luvd her character so much it just showed how carin she was but I m delighted AG wrote this book it's just what I needed 2 understand kiro an gettin 2 know Emily was amazin so happy this series is soooooooo good

I fell in love with the small tease of Kiro's story in Take a Chance so I was excited to learn we were getting a novella of when Kiro fell in love with Emily.
But already knowing how things turn out for the couple, I knew it was going to be a heartbreaking story.
It's a story like so many others - arrogant manwhore rock star meets gorgeous virginal angel backstage and decides he has to have her. But it has Glines' special something that makes me turn the page.
I liked reading about Rush as a young boy and I liked that Emily was instrumental in Kiro having a relationship with his son, Mase.
The epilogue was very sweet. I shed a tear or two. Well done!
