While on holiday in Greece, Drew Woolven had a passionate encounter with a woman he never expected to see again. Especially not in a small Midwestern town with a boy that has a crescent moon birthmark on his wrist that matches Drew’s own. Emmie Anderson had never been more thrilled than when she discovered she was pregnant. At thirty-eight, she was tired of waiting for the right man to have a child, and after a messy divorce from a sociopath, she’s not sure she wants a man. Emmie thought she had it all planned out until she discovered her son’s unique affliction. Pack law demands Drew marry her and turn her to keep the Woolven secret, but after her divorce, Emmie swore she’d never let another man have that kind of power over her again. Especially not one who tempts her to surrender her heart.
Saranna De Wylde has always been fascinated by things better left in the dark. She wrote her first story after watching The Exorcist at a slumber party. Since then, she’s published horror, romance and narrative nonfiction. Like all writers, Saranna has held a variety of jobs, from operations supervisor for an airline, to an assistant for a call girl, to a corrections officer. But like Hemingway said, “Once writing has become your major vice and greatest pleasure, only death can stop it.” So she traded in her cuffs for a full-time keyboard. She loves to hear from her readers.
Saranna writes nonfiction under the name Sara Lunsford. Her memoir about her time as a corrections officer called Sweet Hell on Fire releases Nov 1 from Sourcebooks.
So much better than book 1 in my opinion. It's a romance based on second chance and secret baby romance. I really enjoyed it Emmie that was very hesitant and was really slowly changing her attitude toward Drew. But what will happen when her past would be too hard to bring it back to her, will they manage to deal with everything and get their HEA? I loved Noah - so adorable boy and pup!
I have no idea how I finished it. More like when cause the ending never happened in this one. It was such a chaotic book. Not a read 2-3 times-you'll-understand-chaotic but just plain old messy.
Second chance romance werewolf style. Lots of twists and turns in this one. Can be read standalone but would be better understood if you’ve read Big Bad Billionaire (The Woolven Secret, #1). I love that Drew is patient and although he is strong he isn’t an alphahole. You have to love a guy that falls in love with his kid even after seeing the kid in full on brat mode. Emmie impressed me with her quiet strength and determination. These two are right up there with my favorite couples. I hope the next book comes out soon.
I loved the entire setting of werewolves and vampires and fairies. This is book 2 in the series but i started with this one and it looks like i am going to have to go back and read the first book because i really enjoyed it. I'll accept that the beginning was a bit slow or maybe i just couldn't connect it with. But gradually it did get quite interesting.
Saranna DeWylde makes you look at the paranormal world in a different light. Not only with witches, shifters and vampires, but with fairies. Not just regular fairies. No. She will have you reading about sugar fairies and bone fairies. And they are fascinating. One moment you are so into the twist and turns then the next she has you laughing like a loon. I am totally in love with Gin. She is an amazing character. I hope to see more of her. Whatever you do, do not pass this series by.
Andrew Woolven has a responsibility as Beta to his pack to marry for a pack alliance. When Emmie Andersen shows up in town with a small boy who has a crescent moon birthmark matching his own Drew’s world is rocked and his heart has melted for both the boy and his mother. This book was even better than the first book. Ms. DeWylde outdid herself on this and rarely do I ever see a second book in a series that blows the first away. Ms. DeWylde just keeps on writing better character’s, subplots, and detailed worlds that outmatch the last. Her worldbuilding is masterful and outmatches many other authors. Halfway through I wondered how Emmie, scared Emmie could reasonably grow into a stronger more capable woman and that’s where I think Saranna DeWylde pulled out all the stops and began to shine as a master wordsmith. She created worlds and subplots that make sense and made the whole story come together brilliantly. I do have to say though I think Gin and the Bone Fairy need their own book or at least please write them into another of the series. I love Gin. Ms. DeWylde did a wonderful job interweaving all the plot lines and injecting the novel with a bit of humor that had me laughing out loud. Buy this book. Buy this series. Heck people just go read Saranna DeWylde because she writes awesomeness filled with monsters who get their happily ever after with a few sparkles just for laughs.
I love this series hard! It has everything you could ever ask for in a paranormal series. We have werewolves (duh, that's in the title), fairies, witches, spirits and hunters all in one juicy story of love lost, love found, intrigue, mayhem and a whole lot of magic. Emmie is so real, so easy to connect with and admire. Drew is so hot it's just possible for him to get hotter...but then he manages to do just that. I loved watching the family dynamics of all of the characters play out, how they interact with each other, how they grow together and form even stronger bonds than they had before. There are so many directions for this series to travel, I can't wait to see which one Saranna DeWylde chooses. No matter which way the series goes....it's going to be full of everything and anything you could possibly want from a book.
Drew Woolven had a great holiday with a gal several years ago and when they went their separate ways he never really forgot her. Now she is back in his life and things wont be simple as he thinks it will be. Emmie Anderson never forgot the man she spent time with but he lied to her about who he really was and now he is trying to take over her life. Will she let him for the sake of her son?
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. This is book 2 of The Woolven Secret by the author.
I enjoyed this book! It took me for a ride reading about what happened to Emmie! Again I feel the story ended too soon, but I think others will enjoy it anyway!
I liked this book more than the first but I actually liked it less than the short stories. This book was definitely darker than the second. However, there still remained the inconsistency in the story line. some scenes jumped and I got lost on the plot. It happened a few times that made the enjoyment of the book dropped for me. However, Story wise was much better than the first. the chemistry between the main couple still had the similar problem with the first couple but this relationship was executed slightly better. Overall, instead of getting annoyed with the main couple, I got annoyed by the flaws in parts of the plot. It was still a pretty good book and I still liked the writing style.
Greek, billionaire, and pack Alpha. Can't get much more arrogant than that. Galen certainly is and while Lissa is in love with him, she escapes back home. Not for long. He retrieves her back to Greece and disfavor with his pack. Enemies and fear chased her away and that has not changed.
Will she be able to adjust before their son is born? Will her enemies win out? This is a love story with a strong alpha and a woman in an impossible situation trying to stand up to him. Good read.
