Imagine being offered one photograph that captured the essence of God, an image that revealed everything you need to know about everything that matters. And imagine if this picture of God would shock you]] shake you]] and change you forever.
Would you look at it?
Rico Tice takes readers to the cross in all its shock, inviting readers to see God as they have never seen him before. Readers will see that the God captured in Luke's Gospel is a God of integrity, welcome, justice and peace.
Rico Tice is Senior Minister (Evangelism) at All Souls Church, Langham Place in London. Born in Chile before being educated in England, Rico spent a year working at a church in inner city Liverpool and then studied history at Bristol University (where he was captain of the rugby team). He went on to graduate from theological college at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. As a passionate evangelist, he has spent the last few years developing the Christianity Explored courses. He is a regular speaker at missions and evangelistic events around the world, and is the author of Honest Evangelism: How to talk about Jesus even when it's tough.
Very beautiful message. Definitely worth the read, especially around Easter time. I would recommend you give this to people looking for the answers, new christians and christians who might be stagnant. This book takes a good look at the cross and what Jesus did and brings it into focus.
The formatting of the paragraphs and subheadings was a bit jarring at points but the writing was great
Great short read helping readers to think about what God is like. How does he choose to reveal himself to his world? Through the torture-instrument of the cross. This is a really helpful little book that would be good for both non-Christians and Christians alike. I was personally encouraged by being reminded of simple, but big truths about the cross and what is shows us about God. Would be a good book to give to friends.
This book gives a unique spin on telling the gospel story. It's a short read, but it asks the question that if the gospel was a picture, what would it look like? I would recommend giving this book to someone who doesn't fully understand the gospel. It tells the story of God and what He has done on the cross very clearly and plainly.
This a quality presentation of how we can have peace with God and be justified before him. Tice uses excellent illustrations to highlight the beauty of God’s provision for us in his Son. And why Jesus is our rightful King.
This was an interesting review of the common truths about God for the Christian and non-Christian alike. However, I don't believe this book came up with anything new or any new way of approaching the old truths.
Good, very clearly written and easy to understand short overview of the essence of Christianity. If you aren't sure who the Bible says God is, it's not a bad place to get a summary.
A very helpful booklet, and can be used as a conversation starter with a skeptic. Especially his vivid section of this cross. Tice does a good job explaining some of the basics of the gospel. I would recommend using this as a tract to hand out to anyone who is interested. Very good.
