What Her Dad Doesn't Know

Rate this book
…. Can’t hurt him right?

Andrew has been best friends with Noelle’s dad all his life. They’ve gone through everything together- a crappy foster family, a tour of Afghanistan. Even Noelle’s mom knows better than to get between them. But Andrew knows that what he feels for ‘Daddy’s little girl’ is the one thing that could destroy his friendship forever.

Noelle was always the good girl growing up. Braces, glasses, and a gawky body that she never grew into until graduation ensured that she was never anything else. Except for one, little thing: The crush she’s always had on Andrew for as long as she could remember. It’s wrong to want the older man, but no one else comes close.

He’s sexy as hell, experienced, and far more accomplished than the dumb college boys Noelle goes to school with. So what if he’s twenty years older than her?

Meh - I honestly tried to like this one but it was so short that I couldn't connect with the characters.

We didn't get much background on the characters other than a short blurb and even then I couldn't grasp the connection between Noelle and Andrew. Everything moved rather quickly (as you do in these types of shorts) and before we knew it they were married and pregnant in the span of about 3 weeks.

These are fun reads every now and then, just probably wasn't in the mood for something like this today.

On to the next!

Noelle has had a crush on her dad's best friend for years. She's always been the geeky girl, but now that she is in college, she has blossomed and Andrew won't know what hit him!

Short, sweet and hot! I'm a fan of the older man/younger woman stories and this hit the spot. I do like my H's a bit more Alpha but I think Andrew will be well liked in this book. There is not cheating, no other man/woman drama and a HEA.

I'm impressed that this is the author's first book. I look forward to reading more from Lila Younger.

**apparently, I am hearing the published copy does have an epilogue. My ARC did not. I did not read the newly published version so I can't verify

**ARC received in exchange for an honest review**

A short debut story that I enjoyed.   The older man/younger woman trope seems to be the rage right now.  Honestly,  I'm a big fan of it.

The heroine, Noelle, is a young college girl who has crushed on her dad's best friend for as long as she can remember.   She believes herself to be the plain Jane type who could never turn the head of a man like Andrew.

Andrew is a wealthy business man who has worked his way to the top.  He is self made and has remained friends with Noelle's dad since they were young and in the same foster home.   He of course struggles with sneaking around behind his best friend's back.  He does try to fight it, but eventually he can't resist.

--hot older alpha  (I believe around 40-ish)
--younger heroine (around 19 I believe)
--spicy sex scenes
--hero initially fights the attraction and pushes heroine away.
--no ow/om drama whatsoever
--no epilogue, which is a no-go for me. I felt the ending was rushed, more of a HFN

~4~ stars from me!!!

A very enjoyable, kind of taboo story, I always enjoy reading this type of erotic romance plots with older heroes and younger heroines, this one was the type of "Dad's best friend".. it is a fast pace story with very lovable characters, sexy scenes and interesting dialogues.I definitely would love if this story was longer cause these two characters and their story really won me but that's totally my personal opinion nothing to do with the plot or else.

Andrew is the kind of a man that you easily like in a story and it was really interesting seen him getting outside of the (his) box, something very unlikely for his character, Noelle on the other hand gives this fresh, girly yet mature vibe in the story.

Overall the story was very fun and enjoyable to read so i certainly recommend it, if you like this kind of stories as much as i do then you definitely have to give it a chance.. and also i'm looking forward to the next story the author will create!!

This was a super hot, low-angst, sweet, older man/younger woman romance. Even though this book is short, this author did a really good job of giving you enough of the characters to feel the chemistry between them. The steamy scenes were off-the-charts sexy. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading more by this author.

When I originally read this book it was going to be a 3 star. I liked the story and the characters. I love a Dad's best friend book. I loved how once they got together, they were both all in. Nothing was going to stop them because they found happiness in each other. The reason it was going to be 3 star was the lack of epilogue. There were parts of the story that were just left hanging there. But I picked up the finished story and found I got my epilogue completely tying up the loose ends. I think Lila has great potential and I only see books getting better from here and I'm looking forward to reading more in the future.

I mean, I think I have overdosed on sex books today- but this was just.. average for me.
May December romance between Noelle and Andrew. He's her dad's.. guess what.. best friend! Few good lovemaking scenes and a HEA.
I like epilogues so extra half star for that

So it turns out I haven't been marking all my smut as read. Also turns out I have read a butt load (pun intended) of smut over the last few months. My kindle feels cleaner already ;)

3.5 stars and a whole lot of spice!! Younger woman and older man!! It is hot, sexy and will hit all your buttons. Complete book and well worth the read, I just like a little extra at the end. Since this was my first read by this author, I will definitely read more of her work.

This was a quick read - steamy parts, for sure! Noelle & Andrew are a very sweet couple, really. Noelle's had a crush forever, Andrew rescues her & suddenly seems to have feelings for her as well. : ) There are some obstacles, and the ending is a little abrupt, but overall I enjoyed the story!! : )

Hero is older and happens to be the heroines dad's best friend. At first she is in trouble from a grabby hands guy and he saves her, in the moment they kiss they step back of what happened. When she gets interview at his company things get too heated and soon their relationship develops. Months later they have a routine going on and when he ask her to marry her she says YES but the only thing stopping them is telling her parents in fear of what they say. I liked the older man younger women even if she was beyond the drinking age but it was great to see she chose her happiness instead of pleasing her father.

I really enjoyed this one. I just had issues with how things felt odd and glossed over with the heroine's father.

๑ Autoconclusivo

๑ POV: Noelle's POV

Te recomiendo el libro si te gusta...

ㅤ⋆ Age Gap
ㅤ⋆ Dad's best friend
ㅤ⋆ Libros vainilla

ㅤㅤ ↬ Noelle (♀): Sabemos poco de ella, solo que es universitaria y le gusta el hermano de su padre. No tengo mucho más que decir, sorry not sorry.

ㅤㅤ ↬ Andrew (♂): Nidea.

Ahora, sé que no es una novela que va con la intención de ser profunda ni nada de eso; pero, creo que fue un trabajo muy débil, tenía para hacer más drama, más conflicto que es perfecto para este tipo de libros y lo que engancha al lector.

En fin...

The only reason I read this book was to see how the author handled the dynamic of a relationship like this and how it would turn out and where it could lead, because I've always been curious of how such kinds of stories worked. Content wise, this book was pretty lackluster and nothing to write home about. Noelle is your run of the mill university student who has a huge crush on her dad's best friend, while Andrew, said dad's best friend is that incredibly good looking guy we see in every romance novel *rolls eyes*. The sex wasn't horrible though, the author at least knows how to write that although I feel like we could have gone without all the metaphors about deserts and chemicals and ocean tides. One major turn-off about this story was just how abrupt Andrew's character is. Seriously, it's like 0 to 100 in a second lol.

If you're looking for a developed romance between well-thought out characters, this isn't it. However if you're looking for something that'll kill/waste time for an hour or two, I think you'll find this useful.

Great OM/YW, Daddy's Best Friend Book

Delightful and Dirty, great book from Lila Younger. Of course, all her books are terrific. Haven't found a bad one yet and I've read them all. Can't wait for the new one soon to be out.

Noelle has had a huge crush on her dad's best friend, Andrew for years but has managed to keep it a secret. Now she is all grown up and on her first night working at a kinds sleazy bar where a drunk patron is harassing her and who should come to her rescue but Andrew. Not once but twice in one night. When he gives her a ride home, he ends up kissing her and offering Noelle a job. When she goes for an interview the next day, Andrew states that that can't happen again then they end up having steamy office sex. Could this be the beginning of Noelle's dreams come true or is Andrew just having fun with her?

Messy

I don't understand how books like this are released. In the same paragraph the writer says both parents won't call her but her mom calls her and they end up talking about the wedding... What? The writer lists all the clothes she brought for a quick trip and then a magical silk robe appears the H bought for the trip... Ugh!
I wonder if people actually read their own words or if they just write enough words together to publish and try to make money.
Even more shameful,to me, are the people giving this a great review. SHAME ON YOU.

Oh My! This is my first time reading one of Lila Younger books. Noelle has had a huge crush on Andrew. Andrew is a wealthy sexy business man who has worked his way to the top. The taboo about this crush is that Andrew is Noelle dad's best friend. This is a quick and easy read. The characters are well developed. This book is a sweet story with some hot scenes in between. I would definitely read more by you in the future! If you love to read about an older man/younger woman romance. Then this the one for you. Keep up the great job!

Not what I was expecting, but better than I'd have thought...

Not at all what I was expecting but better than I would have hoped, set and kinda classy not at all what I've seen in the past..
Usually when ever I've come across a book where a young girl is lusting after "Daddy's best friend" it's just that a young girl, because she's 19 or 22 ( though in the really smutty ones she's usually barely 18, not that I've read a lot but) she's usually spoilt and childish and acts like she has the mental and emotional capacity of a spoilt toddler and usually has a daddy complex and the story is usually more than sex and lots of it and the kind that makes you wanna shower after because it's made you feel dirty annd Not in a good way.... But this was the antithesis to all that kinda short but very sweet Noelle from the get go shows us she's mature for just 21 and even though she's having work in a hooters kinda bar she's just there to earn some money, and though it might help she's not the kinda girl to change who she is just for extra tips ( push up bras, lots of make up etc.) I loved that she was who she was regardless ❤️ What got me was my mind set going into this p, you think older man, much younger woman ( 20 year age diff.) Dad's best friend, well you think it's going to be more titillating and kinda naughty and dirty ( but only in a hot steamy forbidden kinda way ;) ) but honestly this was short, sweet and rather classy for what it's usually a very classy them...
They only have sex but only two sex scenes and it's nice nothing really erotic if it weren't for the age diff. And Andrew being her fathers best friend it would really just be a nice boy meets girl kinda love story... Soo for the 2nd time recently I've walked away a bit confused, pleased but confused, a story theme that is normally just know bad smutty rife w/immature young women w/daddy issues, instead I've come across two young women ( other one was a step dad story) who are older and more mature than their years who seem to just fall for older men... Sweet stories that confuse you because they are soo different from what your taught to expect.. Thank you, I had fun... I've never wanted an older man but I'd take Andrew in a heartbeat ;)

Loved it.

I've really enjoyed Noelle and Andrews story. It's the perfect length to read on holiday or curled up on the sofa. I liked the progression of their relationship, it felt natural and not sleazy in any way. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Lila Younger.

Wish we would have had Andrew's PoV too, or at least a section where he seriously wonders if he should go through with . That's me, though, I like watching a character go against their own moral compass for love. Either way, great little book!

Nice quick read.

I love the title. The story was pretty good with a fast paced forbidden romance. It was short and sweet and just what I was looking for.

Older Man/Younger Woman Goodness

This was good story, featuring a couple with an age gap. There's plenty of steam, and some heartwarming moments too.
