Book of quotes. Some were funny, some were interesting, some were frustrating... Definitely something you could pickup and put down, open at random and see what you get. I read it straight through because it's not my book, but doing it in smaller chunks, reading a section at a time, might be better.

This wasn't as good as Winokur's other quotey compendium, The Portable Curmudgeon, but it was still a decent read. The best part of this book is this sequence of quotes near the end:
"It is not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game" Grantland Rice
"Grantland Rice can go to hell as far as I'm concerned" Gene Autry
I've been dipping into various and sundry quotation books lately, and this is one of the few I just sat down and read. Some spotty copy-editing is really the only problem I found.
